Planned obsolescence – Great for two years then battery, app and clean declined Show details
The robot vac was great – Well it hasn’t done a lot of work. after about 4 years of very minimal usage battery life became poor , won’t hold full charge from 90% down quite quickly and runs for 5 mins between charges at best. Cleans carpet very well , transitions from carpet to line smoothly. Since i set up pre programmed cleaning zones it simply stops mid zone with a bit… Read more
of a push reconnects to wiifi ( green light) again Just don’t know why. I’d like to make friends with it but seems all a bit hard. Could it just be its age? Has been looked after.
Good Vacuum – The Hoover ranger is a good entry level robotic vacuum cleaner. It does a pretty good clean and is gentle around furniture. The battery life deteriorates rapidly though, my vacuum is just over two years old and the battery only last 15 minutes. The zones also reset all the time. Overall it’s a good vacuum for the price you pay. Show details
Battery failure after 3 years no replacement, poor company response – Had a Hoover Ranger 5241 purchased in 2020 - after 3 years battery died. Neither Hoover nor Godfreys carry replacement batteries! ACCC advice spare parts should be kept for a reasonable time (for many companies this means 5-10years). Hoover consider less than 3 years reasonable! Tried to point out that this was unreasonable, but failed. … Read more
Following original post, Hoover Team made a price reduction offer on a new product. The offer was not acceptable (it included an already available sale price reduction) and no further movement by Hoover was received.
Very disappointed with Hoover, a long standing company with, prior to this issue, a reputation for quality products and service. Now consider them lacking customer concern and providing poor products - especially in current times of waste reduction. A perfect robot, apart from battery, now going to waste rather than lasting another 5 years or more!
Be very wary of Hoover products and check availability of spare parts after end of warranty.

2 years and then… – Everything was going well. My wife - happy. My dog - content. Myself - Jovial. Then after about 2 years it just stopped working effectively. It would just stop out of no where. I thought it was maybe the battery. So I buy another battery to tune of $75. Works even worse now. Save yourself the money and just buy yourself a cheap [Content Removed] to come clean your house once a week. Maybe someone [Content Removed]? Show details
Terrible waste of money – I purchased this device from a Godfrey's store early last year. It was impossible to get it connected to the internet. I needed the technical assistance representative to show me the hack to connect it since it is not straight forward. The device worked fine for a while but now it is ALWAYS disconnecting from the internet. The technical assistance… Read more
employee warned me it would do so, but I never thought it would be this bad! I NEVER get to actually use the device! Hoover technicians have previously looked at the device after the first issue and said it is functioning. Really? When it started disconnecting from the internet, the technical assistance employee suggested I reset the device, which I did. It STILL continually disconnects from the internet, even after the reset. There is nothing left to try.
My home internet is JUST FINE. Every other device connects to the internet without issue. And YES my modem is the right modem! I checked that too!
I am so sorry I bought this thing. I should have spent the money on something better.
I will never buy another Hoover product and I will never shop at Godfrey's again.

Cleans well, app is crap, forgets maps often – So when the maps are there to create Zones it works reasonably well, gets stuck under chairs and if you move it even a few 10s of centermeters it gets confused and deletes the map or even if it gets stuck and it sleeps too long it also randomly deletes the map, doing a full clean just to get the map back is painful and we have finally decided to… Read more
retire it and get a new cleaner, luckily we only paid $299, can't imagine the buyers regret for $600 ☹️
I will avoid Hoover robo vacs in future
Brush not working after use only a few times – We bought this online for $299 and the brush didn't rotate properly from very beginning. Now no movement at all after cleaning of any dirt. Sent to Auburn shop. Hope they fix properly and replace or refund. Hi, guys, just a bit update here. Hoover gave me back the machine after three weeks. They said they replaced the left side brush motor. It… Read more
feels still stiffer than right side. But the machine is very different from the one I gave them. It used to show green light all the time. Now always orange light. Charging way slower than used to be. It doesn't go back to charging spot itself. Out ring cover looser than used to be. I suspect they gave me a wrong machine altogether. No series number on the machine. They really should refund me when there are so many issues. Waiting for its response.
More updates This issue has dragged on for many months. Hoover doesn't honor its own words. Initially it said"If there is a major fault found then the customer has the choice of outcome. If a minor or maintenance issue is occurring then the service team has the choice of outcome." They found one of the side brush motors faulty and other issues. The new brush is still stiff. But they refuse to honor their words. Very very disappointed.
Hi guys, some interesting updates. Now the Hoover said those robot cleaners are NOT for major cleaning despite they are far more expensive than normal vacuum cleaner. In other words they are not much of use at all. What's the point of spending so much money for something useless?
More updates
This Hoover is terrible. They don't honour their own words. In my opinion faulty brush motor is a major fault. But they deliberately said it's a minor fault. But they also refused to say what major faults are in their list. Just totally unreasonable. For such a small amount of money we can see what kind of company we are dealing with. Going to fair trading might be the way to go next?
Final update this shop agreed to refund me fully after nsw fair trading investigation and ruled in my favor. Before that they tried just to give $299 credit meaning I have to buy something from them. Fair trading intervened again and I got full refund. Thanks.
Read so many bad reviews. Feel sorry for those paid $600. I am lucky I got full refund after almost 12 months.

The battery dies after a year with no replacement. Avoid – Avoid this overpriced piece of garbage that will break as soon as it's out of warranty. Show details

Was... great – It worked well for about 6 months and then like everyone else has said the battery doesn't charge, app constantly disconnects, always forgets the no go zones. It was a good cleaner when it worked. I have now bought a Robovac, the app is brilliant but the clean is so so compared to the Hoover when it worked. Show details

Hard floor genius – I purchased this robot vacuum after reading the Choice reviews. As per Choice it is excellent on hard floors, so has been ideal on our polished concrete floors. We never tried it on carpet except for the area rug. All up it has lasted 18 months to 2 years before the battery gave up. I have never ever been able to connect it to the internet… Read more
to set it up on a cycle, so that’s been a waste of time and effort. However to just turn it on and let it go, it does a great job getting into corners and along skirting.
We have been living without it – No parts main brush and rubber strip behind brush. Will never buy anything from Godfrey again done and dusted Show details

Know better, choose better.
I loved it while it worked! – This was great on my boards whilst it worked, I used it once a week alternative to a manual vacuum. I even recommended my mum and sister to buy one (which they did) I bought the Hoover due to their reputation for vacume cleaners. The internet was a nightmare to connect and once I had to change internet modems, I was never able to connect it… Read more
again but I was still able to use it without a problem so it didn’t worry me. FFW 2 years, and it will go for 4 minutes and 39 seconds before it completely runs out of battery. I expected to get more than 2 years out of a $600 product. I cannot find my receipt however, I doubt I would be in luck anyway as it’s just on 2 years old.

Works well on tiles, wooden floors and carpet- WHEN it is working – Was great for about a month after purchase. The app is rubbish. Still no app support, still the same issues- losing the blue print to the house and having to start again. Losing WIFI connectivity and having trouble starting over again. I am now watching my battery drain on the app 1% at a time. Went from 100% to 20% (recharge state) in 6 minutes… Read more

Battery and App issues – Tiled floors, performs ok when online. Battery drains to 20% in about 1 minute now so it takes all day to do a few areas. Very disappointed when Hoover had a good name Show details

Hoover Ranger Extremely Disappointing – We purchased two Hoover Rangers a little over 2 months ago. Performs O.K. when working correctly, but has not been working correctly for many weeks due to many issues. Consistently loses WIFI, battery capacity has significantly deteriorated (less than half the capacity as they had at new), Does not return to home base. Virtually no Australian product support and spare parts non existent. Show details

Hoover Ranger Sucks – When I first bought the Hoover Ranger vac it worked fine for about 2 months, then occassionally the wifi would drop out but not straight away. Then I would spend hours trying to get it to reconnect, only for it to stay connected for up to 2 weeks. I finally took it back to store of purchase and they sent it off to be checked and came back working… Read more
for about 2 months and ever since it wont reconnect, that was beginning of January. I haven't seen an update to the app for over a year.

The Ranger, beats the Meile Scout and a quarter of the price... but – OK so I have the Meile Scout which is an absolute let down based on the app literally not working and having to register the vac EVERY time you use it, so it gathered dust and hadn't vaccumed for months. My sister and Mum both have the Ranger with rave reviews, so I brought this instead on sale. Hoovie as it is affectionately known as in my… Read more · 2
house is more than adequate for the $250 price tag. I talked a friend into also buying one and she said its the best purchase she's made in years. He tends to get stuck a little bit but that cannot be avoided, but is fantastic for a quick whizz around and a tidy floor until you are able to vac.
Downside... the app only works on an iPhone so if you don't have one, do not waste your money. It also takes a bit of effort, so prepare for this to maybe take a couple of days and some perseverance to get it up and running. Hoovie is now linked to my daughters iPhone. By all appearances Hoover are aware of this, but months have passed and they still haven't rectified the issue. I'm assuming purely as this model is superseded? But you still need to offer a service for a product your customers have purchased!
Hoovies runs Monday to Friday, on floorboards and carpet.
The question is, would I buy another one? Yes. But only this brand as the other one I've had was terrible.
So 1 month of warranty left and the battery has died. It may be a standard thing with these as my sisters did the same. Hers was out of warranty. Pick mine up after Christmas with a very quick turnaround (1 week) which I couldn’t be happier with being Christmas.
I’m missing my girl terribly, but not sure I could pay the 2k which is the going rate of the new ones
Disappointed – Only lasts 12 months then everything starts to go wrong with it. Feel sick at how much we paid for it to have only lasted 12 months. Would never have bought it. The current problem is the battery isn't holding charge. The app is also poor, the restricted zones on the app didn't stop the vacuum cleaner. Speaking to the Godfreys store agent and they don't care about the product being faulty. Show details

Good when it works - the app is a major let down! – The robot itself works well, cleans efficiently and intelligently maps out your floor plan. Unfortunately the Hoover Ranger app is a complete failure. The app no longer opens at all after updating my phone to Android 12 - very poor support from Hoover - they haven't updated the app in 10 months and I'm doubtful they're going to be fixing it… Read more
anytime soon. So now I can't control the robot at all with my phone so no zone cleaning, scheduled cleans, spot clean etc.
I wouldn't recommend buying this robot vacuum due to the poor app support from Hoover. I have already returned the product to Godfreys and I'm still waiting for a resolution (hopefully a refund).
Take a look at all the reviews on the Google Play store about this app and see for yourself just how bad it is.
Hoover if you're reading this please FIX THE APP IMMEDIATELY.
