battery will not charge
like others worked well for 2 years minimal work now battery will not charge , expensive to replace
worked well very disappointed about the battery was promoted a long lasting battery
Very annoyed and unimpressed
I bought my Hoover Ultra on the 8th July 2019, I am writing this on the 17th July 2020. I used it this morning as normal. I have carpet only in the bedrooms, low pile and the rest of the house is tiled. I went with the ultra as I got sick of my back hurting when cleaning. Also the many fights that I got into with my 'smart' hoover over it's maneuverability and banging into everything which included many ankle bone smashes (it still runs fine I use it for the car).
So I finished vacuuming and then placed it on its charging stand. Nothing. No li...ght, nothing. So I unplugged it used a different outlet and made sure the metal connectors where clean, basically just troubleshooting. Nothing. Getting annoyed I researched it. What ticks me off is I usually do thorough research before I outlay money. Product review is the best for such answers, and normally I would use it. However I have bought 2 other vacuums (Hoover) and two carpet cleaners (Bissell)from a Godfreys store so I trusted the guy that has sold me all five. He told me what I wanted to know about the cleaner and I had faith in the fact he has always been honest with me. Maybe it's my fault. After seeing the other reviews about the problems with the battery and charger after only a short amount of time I thought 'oh that's just wonderful'. I got one year and eleven days out of this vacuum and I'm not happy. I will call Godfreys on Monday morning but I don't hold much hope, and I am pretty sure that replacement parts and time are not going to be worth it. The biggest bug bear is that obviously this is a known issue, yet the unit is still being sold. I won't ever buy Hoover again. I don't know if the guy at Godfreys knew about any of this, but I won't be going back there.
Hoover Ultra Performer - 2 units gone in less of 3 years
I have the same problem here. First unit just worked for 3 months and had to take it back to the store. Got a replacement new unit and it lasted for 18 months Battery started to low its capacity and lasted working for 10 minutes. After a month of using it like that tye battery just didn't charge anymore.
What a waist for money. Bought it with the credit card and paid heaps more of actual price for a good that didn't last not even 2 years.
Godfreys or Hoover should have the free service to collect this death equipment and dispose it correctly instead of customer taking time and more money to drop it off.
I won't bother buying any other Hoover product. Very disappointing.
Shame about the battery
1st one worked for about 9 mnths and was changed with a replacement when stopped charging. 2nd one lasted 2 years then same outcome. Did not bother returning this time.....a 22.2v battery + 6 cells which is not user replaceable would probably cost as much to replace as a new stick vacuum - OK I've learnt a lesson here...the cleaner was OK other than battery issue... really a rating of 2.5 bad->OK
Purchased in October 2017 for A$250.00.
Great at first. Gone through 3 units in 3 years.
I purchased one of these and was initially impressed with it's battery/vacuuming capacity. For the first 10 weeks at least until the unit died. It was replaced with a new unit and this one lasted just over 12 months (similar problem). It got replaced again and it is now cutting in and out at random and not charging like it should. The blue light is flashing slowly while in use and then cuts out. No fault finding or explanation of flashing light sequence/problems in manual. Just says that light will flash slowly whilst charging. How stupid that ...the light goes out when fully charged. How are you supposed to know if the battery has actually been charged if the light indicator actually goes out! What if the light is not working? 3 units faulty in just over 3 years.
Do not buy this product
Terrible vacuum, we brought the model down from this stick vac only to have it die on us within the 1 year warranty so Godfreys upgraded us to this model. Worked great for about a month then started just pushing dirt, rice etc around on the floor. Works for the first 10sec of use until it gets blocked up due to the very small intake then you have to empty if you want it to have any suction. Biggest waste of money will never buy a Hoover or from ever Godfreys again.
average at best
This stick vac worked really well for the first couple of months even on long dog and cat hair! - although there are clogging issues at times due to the small intake.
We had it repaired once during warranty as the power button was sticking.
Occasionally have had issues with the charging plate - needs cleaning to ensure a good contact.
now what lets it down however is wouldn't you know once outside of warranty battery rapidly dies.
we can now get less than 3 minutes out of the vac before it dies.
replacement batteries are not available and you must buy the entire dust buster unit instead.
i'd say save your money and buy a Dyson.. sad really i have always used the hoover brand.
Don't buy it
As with many reviews below, poor design lets the product down. Clogs easily and is difficult to get the head off. Average suction, on both carpet and tiles. The battery stopped working not long after it was out of warranty.
Purchased in September 2017 for A$250.00.
Waste of Money
I do not recommend buying this product at all. This vacuum lasted us approximately 4 months before it completely lost its suction. We were always vigilant in emptying the Hoover every time it filled, however, this didn’t seem to stop it from dying. We paid a fair amount of money for a highly disappointing product. We have now purchased a Dyson cordless vacuum which we are absolutely loving, the quality is so much better than Hoover.
Purchased in January 2019 at Godfrey’s Tamworth for A$180.00.
Don't waste your money
Poorly designed. There is a very small suction hole unlike the more expensive models with a wider spinning head. Can't handle concrete and wooden floors as well as some rugs.
Poor Performance and Unrealiable
I purchased this product with high confidence from Godfreys - They raved about how good it was and its the ultimate cordless vacuum and its very close to the Dyson with 1/2 the price tag. We decided to purchase it. It was working fine in the tiled areas, (though not good on carpet), once it hit 12 months and 1 week, it started to stop after 1 minute - No matter how much we charged it. I took it back and they said "It is over the 1 year warranty and this is expected for a cordless Vacuum - They are all the same,. even the Dyson's" - I wasnt to h...appy as its not a $99 Vac, it was $299. I explained that it needs to be fixed, they tried to offload another one to me - Which was a joke. They decided to repair it with chnaging the battery - which costs $120. However they did change it in good faith. Now I am going through it again, same problem, though it s only 6 months since it was changed. To be honest, if its that expensive, then it should be coming with a better warranty or at least a replacement warranty on the battery, if its a known issue. I wouldn't buy one again and dont encourage anyone to do so either. A short life for an expensive product. It seems a lot of people have expericenced the same issue, reading through the reviews. I will be taking it back today to seek compensantion for another product.

Useless on timber floors
Very disappointed with this "vacuum". It just pushes dirt, chips, etc around on timber floor. Works better on carpet but only average. It's only saving grace is the detachble part which is handy on leather sofa and in car.
Bought from Godfrey's in Nov 2018 and having used it several times since on our mainly woollen carpet floors have found it doesn't pick up the fluff etc at all well due to a restricted passage between the head and storage area. This design causes blockages very easily and therefore suction is lost. Also having to remove the quite small dirt container often is a nuisance. Cannot recommend this unit and would rate it lower if possible.

Excellent unit until its NOT(after 1 year 3months)
Absoult mint vacuum(wait for it), easy and fun to use, quick and easy to charge. Robust, solid and powerful enough unit that tackles most jobs(good luck vacuuming up small pebble like stones and small nails and the like but.).
Dust bin fills up quick which requires a seemingly easy and trouble free clean, one push button release, a easy pull to remove the main filter, a couple twists and taps on the edge of the rubbish bin and its clean enough to quickly reverse the process and get back to bussiness; I'd recommend once finished with the vacuu...
Waste of money
Don’t be fooled by the salesperson on this product. Good to zip around the house with, but found that items were spitting out from the head instead of being sucked up, resulting in going over the same spot 100 times. Constantly need to clean the head and rollers to get minimal performance out of it. Spend a bit more money and buy something that performs better.

I love this machine! I find it does a brilliant job picking up my dog's thick long hairs off the wooden floors and works well to clean mats too... but the reason for my low rating is:
We purchased our machine in Dec 2016, worked great for a few months and then started losing suction, then the on/off switch at the top of the stick didn't work. It went in for repair and that only solved the switch problem, still lack of power and then it eventually wouldn't charge.
It went in for repair with Godfrey's again and when we went to pick up we di...
this is so light weight and excellent for me to use as im in a wheelchair, the swivel head is a great idea. love the idea i can take off the handheld piece for lounges. it is wonderful for carpet and vinyl. i dont like the idea of having to empty it so often
Purchased this three weeks ago, pathetic performance, suction is very poor, on the other hand if want a cleaner that picks up dirt and deposits it a few feet further on, this product excels at that.
I have a combination of carpet and tiles, it is equally bad on both surfaces
Pretty reliable, compact unit for small areas
We bought this for a small apartment. The floor is a mix of carpet and vinyl and we keep it pretty clean, so we've never really put the vacuum cleaner through its paces. It does a good job of picking up most dust and dirt and the groove in the rotor at the bottom makes it easy to cut loose the hair that always gets stuck.
The dust catching container fills up pretty fast and needs to be emptied frequently but being a bagless vacuum it doesn't cost anything, its just a pain.
Questions & Answers
Have I accidentally lost a part of the filter? There is always dust and fluff trapped at the tip of the clear container. When I try to empty the dust from the dust compartment that bit can not come out! There is only two black parts to the filters that attaches to the clear dust compartment, correct?
We would recommend taking the machine into your nearest Godfreys store to check that all the parts are there and fitting correctly.

I bought an ex demo model vac and it didn't have an instruction book. I did contact the store that I purchased it from and they didn't have one there, is there any way I can get one.
Please contact us on 1300 360 845 and we will be happy to email through a copy of the user manual for you.
