Either design fault or Quality control
I bought a Hoselink retractable hose and 5m extension hose plus a 2 way tap fitting. When I opened the box I discovered only the retractable hose came. The initial customer service person was not helpful. I Contacted again and this person informed me that the other parts come from a different warehouse. This was further confusing as there was only 1 Ordering ID and 1 tracking number. 5 days later the other parts arrived. After I installed the hose, I turned on the water and the connector leaked. NOT HAPPY. However after contacting the company t...hrough live chat, I was sent another connector express post. This one has not leaked so far. There is either a design fault or there is a quality control issue. Either way I would not recommend this product for this reason.
Glorified Hose Reel with Proprietary Connectors to Make Money
Stay well away from Hoselink. They’re just glorified hose reels that use their proprietary ‘burst-free’ connectors as a way to reel you in and keep making money of you.
I bought a 25m ‘high pressure’ hose reel from them a year go. First con right there is ‘high pressure’. I haven’t noticed any more pressure coming out of this hose than any other hose I’ve used. The reel itself is fine. It does what a hose reel does. It pulls out and retracts when you tug it. So they got that part right.
About 2 months in the swivel connector that connects t...he spray gun started bursting of the hose. So much for burst free. I contacted them and they sent me a free replacement. Another 2 months later and the replacement connector is now leaking. Another month later the connector that connects to the actual tap is leaking. Then the final straw was then the actual spray gun was leaking water. I had enough. I replaced all the connectors with standard connectors from Bunnings along with a new spray gun and everything’s leak free now. Hoselinks business model is to hook you in and get you to keep buying their accessories which of course all use their own proprietary connector. And this would be fine if their connectors were actually any good. But they can’t even do the basics like not leaking!
Disappointing - Brass High Pressure Jet Nozzle (ITEM: 5565)
I'm a big fan of Hoselink, so I'm disappointed to have to write a poor review of one of their newer products. Over the years I have bought a few of Hoselink's Blasters (ITEM: 5560). They work very well but eventually the lever seizes up and they have to go in the bin. Recently I was ordering a new 30m hose reel and noticed a newer product called a Brass High Pressure Jet Nozzle (ITEM: 5565). It doesn't have a lever to fail, it has a brass ring that you turn to shut off the water. I bought one of those expecting it to be better quality but...after using it I've found that it isn't. Yes, it's mostly made of brass, but the device that adjusts the stream is just a rubber ring which is squeezed together by the brass ring. The stream it provides isn't as strong or uniform as the original Blaster, which is disappointing. Also, I reckon the rubber ring will perish over time and it will have to go in the bin as well. On positive note, the hose reel came with a brilliant product called a Flow Control (ITEM: 2423-WG). So I recommend buying the old Blaster and a Flow Control.
Pretty average product
Don’t be fooled about the fact the garden retractable hose is Australian made as it’s not it’s made ........ in CHINA and it doesn’t retract half the time unless you empty the water from the line so for the $$$ you pay it’s an average product
After two and a half months of use 8 bulbs have blown even though they were tight in their holders, to the point where the glass on one sheared off into my hand.
Super jet Washer not for a garden environment
Super jet washer fell off bench (70cm) and snapped. never used!.. All other products have been reliable however I would skip this one.
Bursts off spray regularly
My wife enjoys her monthly shower when the hose bursts off the spray. I didn't enjoy it so much when I find I have to buy the split ring from Hoselink and not a local hardware.
Don’t be fooled!
Don’t buy hose link! I was given a hose link package, ie, hose, two trigger nozzles, connectors etc. once you getHose link connectors , all your click on fittings, that most people have, are unusable! Unless you purchase click on adapter. I purchased click on adapter from hose link, it sat in the shed for about year and a half, before I connected it, after a short while, it cracked up, as basically, it’s cheap rubbish, similar to other Chinese plastic parts! Phoned hose link, spoke with a lady, she said sorry, out of warranty. The two trigger ...nozzles also failed with in a year, once again phoned hose link, they sent replacements, which again failed within a year. Apparently, they are unable to withstand frost, and fail. Spoke to a lady, requesting that hose link manager phone me, still waiting on that call! The products are Alsovery bulky, once assembled. Do yourself and our planet a favour, spend the extra money at the start, buy brass fittings, and you won’t be on the plastic throw away and repay roundabout!!
This was meant to be the best thing I have ever bought, but it wasn't to be. My first self-retrating unit was purchased about four years ago. After about six months, the unit jammed and I could not get the hose in or out of the housing. Instead of contacting Hoselink, I opened the housing unit to try and fix myself. This was my mistake. The unit ended up in the bin. I then ordered another unit which I battle with everytime I use it. It never full retracts. It takes about 8 attempts before I can get this to occur. I have contacted Hoselink and r...elayed what is written here. The service is impeccable, but an unaligned winding arm solution that was provided has not resolved the issue. The hose tangles when retracting, meaning this product is far from effortless. I interchange the Hoselink products regularly and just as regularly the black 'o' rings fall out and go missing. Very disappointing.
Reractable hose casing broken
I have two hoselink hoses, including a water dripper (not sure if that is the correct description). But I have been buying hoselink for a number of years now, so I was extremely disappointed when the casing of my retractable hose broke and the whole hose (including the casing) justs droops. It is very annoying I cant fix it so I want to open the casing and take the hose out to use. I have moved and this is extredmely acceptable for my new backyard. Anybody please help? How do I open the casing?
The actual hose couplings are good but other products are second rate.
I like the hose couplings; they're good. Their attachments however are second rate. Customer service is appalling and whenever I've complained I've never had an apology yet, just lots of self justification. Hand held spray guns don't turn off properly and I've just wasted many litres of water because of this, again, in a drought! Not possible to buy the couplings anywhere else but the attachments should be bought elsewhere. I dislike this company very much.
Flawed distribution and delivery
I purchased a retractable hose reel about 6 months ago for over $300, wanting the best gardening watering hardware. The hardware itself is pretty good, but there are a couple of major flaws in the overall product offering:
1. No free deliver for item under $30. So I had a broken connector (after my 5 year old dropped it on concrete with the heavy sprayer). The replacement part is $7.9 (not cheap) but deliver is another $6.95. And since you can't buy them in any physical shops, so I had to fork out $14 just for a connector that I could get for $...

Constantly kinks, struggles to wind back
Our hoselink was good for the first 12 months or so then just went to poo. It winds back properly about once every ten times, it kinks when unrolling and it kinks when rolling back on. The attachments wear out very quickly in the sun and we have been through multiple connectors and spray heads in the 4 odd years we have had it. If it hadn't been so expensive to buy it would be understandable but charging this much for a hose and bits I want it to last longer between replacement parts.
Not worth the premium price
No, the hoses don't burst off, they TWIST off instead which is even more annoying. They are also made in China.
Doesn't last long
My parents bought this product several years ago. It isn't weather durable as the hose sheds and the gadget that holds the hose slowly deteriorates over time. And it stops working. The guy that owns/sells the product forgot to say you need to replace after at minimum 5 years.
I have a hose from bunnings that is 44 years old. Hasn't faded, split or corroded in all those years and cost me next to nothing.
Questions & Answers
Do you need to take it inside in the winter?
Thank you for your question here. If the temperatures where you live get to below freezing level (0 degrees) we recommend bring in any of the accessories you have. Leaving them out with water inside may cause the water to freeze and potentially damage them. If it does not get to freezing or below freezing temperatures this is not nesscarry.
