Good experience but expensive
Going to the movies at Hoyts is an expensive experience these days. The seats were comfortable and clean. Picture and sound excellent. But the prices these days to go to the movies make it hard to justify taking the family out.
outcome of complaint to hoyts
Just wanted you to know that as a result of my complaint to hoyts, I have been assured that it will be brought to the attention of the floor staff between sessions and the overnight cleaners. As an apology, they offered two complimentary passes each.
My rewards account seems to have vanished, cannot log in. Tried the password reset, no email sent. Sent email to customer service team, no response, either by email or my mobile phone number. Have got their working hours but NO PHONE NUMBER listed for customer service. Get with it Hoyts, you obviously don't care. If you are going to offer a rewards programmes etc, for goodness sake manage & run it properly. Customer Service appears to be poor. Please read on!! I finally found a phone number 1300 146 987 by accident & after much frustration. On...ce through to Customer Service Staff (Sasha) my problem was found & rectified immediately by a friendly, knowledgeable person - thank you Sasha. Most frustrations appear to be caused by management not making the Service line telephone number easily visible on their website. Wake up people. Most, if not all, of the negative reviews about Customer service would not be here if customers could access your service centre easily. The staff in there seem friendly, competent & willing to help.

I have a Hoyts Silver Rewards Card for which I paid $13 and I also obtained a free Bronze Card for my Husband. Today we went to Hoyts Warringah Mall for the first time together. I put the two cards on the counter and asked for two tickets. "$21,50 please" she said. I looked at her and said it should have been $16 and she said I had to buy the tickets separately to get the discount on both. Luckily I quickly overcame my astonishment and asked her to give me one ticket on each card which she did. I handed over a $50 note and she gave me $42...change, then took one of the $20 notes and gave me $12 change!!!!! I am just giving people a heads up that they apparently need to buy their tickets separately to get the $8 tickets. Luckily we enjoyed the movie but will be more aware next time.
Clean and beautiful seating (reclining chairs)
The lights were kept on only until the movie started. (Frankston)
Starting to get a bit higher the prices (this may be the norm of cinemas now though)
Sound on point, and great seating arrangement.
Not bad rewards program
Have enjoyed 3 free cinema tickets since joining their rewards program 2 months ago. Bought Optus Movie tickets and Hoyts still gave me points for using them each time I watch a movie.
Questions & Answers
Does it really cost $10 over the counter for the silver rewards card and then $13 per year on top of that?
Why ask the public when you could easily contact the company
Oh Bert.... you are so helpful....i asked this question several months ago....what kept you? It might not have occurred to you that I did contact the company, which turned out to be as unhelpful as you appear to be!
Sorry, I apologise for not being aware you asked earlier. You are right, if only it occurred to you to mention it...
I had no problem getting the answer on my first contact with them.
