Excellent – the product back in those days was the best i found all round. it was much better price than the cannons and i bought this for my business. i found that it had perfect picture quality and the high quality photo was like printing out a magazine. it wsa that good. the best part of the machine wsa the super fast printing of black and colour. i didnt know a printer of that affordable price can perform like heavy duty device. great price, good looks and superb laser printing technology. good overall quality of text and images. cartridges can be hard to change at times. printer load times take a while when booting up and changing cartridges.

Good – Very good, would recommend it to anyone wanting to upgrade to a laser printer and doesn't want to spend too much money. Good quality prints. Print quality is nice for documents, don't try photos though (well that's what inkjets are for). It is very quiet and easy to set up in the network, no hassles at all Print consumables are quite expensive but it is worth it when you compare the price ratio per page to that of an inkjet printer.

Bad – I bought this 3 month ago, price was reasonable and the only one in this price range that shipped with full capacity toner cartridges. It prints well on standard weight paper however we print mostly on heavy paper and the result is horrible enough printing one side and atrocious when printing both sides. Searching HP forums on the web I found out (too late) that it isn't a problem unique to my unit or due to settings as virtually every posters reported similar issues. The consumables are way too expensive, a CMYK set of toner costs more than the printer (which ships with full capacity toner!) ships will full toner, ok for general printing awful marble effect on cardboard media, access to settings through http gives lots of errors, lots of reboots, constatly recalibrates, replacing toner cartridges more expensive than replacing the whole unit.
