It works...
I've had this product for almost a year. It's certainly a conversation starter in the car. Being a dashcam integrated on a mirror unit, it's obviously a much more subtle approach than having that "one other thing" sticking onto your windscreen. It certainly appeals to owners of "nicer cars", who want that functionality without compromising and cluttering their car with aftermarket looking junk. When installed properly, the unit does not look out of place at all.

Read moreottom centre. Stiff, but easy to maneuver, the lens is adjusted at initial installation by the user to calibrate the most suitable recording angle. It comes with an adequately long power cable for you to route the wiring. The whole setup is designed for the user to make the dashcam subtle. Recording works well, and features Collision Detection and Motion Detection. At startup, the LCD turns on. Depending on the settings, the LCD turns off after a set duration. Unfortunately, the LCD cannot be set permanently off even at startup. Would have been a nice feature. There is a button to manually turn on/off the display. Under normal use, the unit appears to record well. While the resolution is adequate, the focus and frame rate isn't the best, so don't expect to catch a moving license number. The unit is physically quite heavy, and does not bode too well with my Lexus. The stock mirror on my Lexus is designed to be loose so that the mirror can be adjusted easily by the user. In the hotter months, the ball joint and socket is expanded and becomes so loose that any slight bump such as driving over a speed hump and cause the mirror and camera to droop all the way down. Unfortunately, this is neither the fault of the camera nor the car - each have their own design, so check that your stock mirror isn't very loose. If it takes a bit of effort to move that rear view camera, then chances are it will be okay. If in doubt, see to it that you can tighten/loosen the mirror's ball joint before buying this unit.Questions & Answers
