My first smartphone, fondly remembered – I got one of these about 5 years ago when I first made the move to smartphoning. Worked well, reliable as both phone and wifi internet access device and very pocketable. Only problem was small internal memory -not enough to load all the apps I wanted. But still cute. I've upgraded to bigger and better phones twice since then but still remember it… Read more

fondly and was happy to recommend a second hand one to my sister when she took the smartphone plunge.

below average smartphone – I bought the htc wildfire on telstra pre paid from the fairy meadow Australia post branch / at first it was alright as it was nice and bright along with being compact which is so easy to hold / next thing I know about 3 weeks later it started to play up as it was hard to swipe properly plus the brightness was going less and more then next thing I… Read more

know the speaker started getting less stronger / my advice is to stay away from the htc wildfire if it is on pre paid which is locked to a mobile phone carrier

Little Gem – I've had a HTC Wildfire for 5 years and it's been amazing. I'm upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge but thought this phone deserved a plug before it goes. I've had the same battery for 5 years it just keeps charging no problem. I've dropped it (while in a protective cover) and it still works fine. Nice simple screen and layout. It's size… Read more

is perfect and slips into any pocket safely.

Verdict - 4 out of 5 stars

Pros - great size, excellent battery life, adequate features for a small phone.

Cons - Can lag at times which can be annoying when you're in a hurry.

Htc – This is a phone that makes me want to commit. I mean really, it is like a little ladybug. It is next to useless as a throwing weapon, and is hopeless as a phone. Large fingers struggle to txt on it and it always freezes. My rich friends and I could afford to buy one of these a day, but I would rather replace it with something reliable.

Good for making calls and txt ONLY – Internal memory space very small. Cannot move many apps or photos or messages to SD card to create more space depsite warnings and phone advised to use wizard to create more space yet nothing could be moved. Battery life is a problem afteer a year...lasted 4 hrs on standby, phone heats up quickly when charging, or on standby. Compact, cheap, Heating problem, storage size issue, battery life all really bad

Great Phone! – I bought my HTC Wildfire S over 12 mths ago at the local Post Office, much cheaper than Telstra Shop. The main attraction for me was: Its size being smaller; its comfortableness of grip in the palm due to its rounded corners; its 3.2" camera screen producing clear photos, and its easy for me to use: a 70 year old! Not being into apps, internet or… Read more

email on my phone, it is a phone that far surpasses any other I've bought over the years. It's classy, reasonably priced, and light. The facility to be able to convert from portrait to landscape makesfor letter size for texting so much easier.

Mongrel of a phone – I bought the HTC Wildfire because the Telstra sales person recommended it as easy to use. Well let me tell you it is not easy to use or modify the settings. It does nor come with a manual. You need to search the internet to find a manual which is so long and complicated and not easy to read. Now every call I receive goes staight to messagebank.… Read more

As soon as possible I will replace this little monster with something which is easy to use. It is small. Very complicated and no manual supplied.

Not great – I bought this because it was cheap and looked like it did the basics. There are a lot of pre-loaded apps that can't be moved to the SD card, so I constantly get messages saying I can't add new apps or update others becasue of insufficient storage. Also there are many times when the phone won't turn on, and often when it rings it's very hard to… Read more

pick up, which means I miss a lot of calls - very annoying.

I wouldn't buy this again. Good camera, clear screen Often doesn't work, insufficient storage space to add apps.

Good but also v.bad – Value for money with internet, texting and phone calls, very bad internal memory. Had to do a factory reset to get it to work properly and find HTC Sync then 2 months later the same thing has happened. I don't even have any extra apps on phone because they won't fit on. Keeps saying updates available but won't accept because not enough space!! … Read more

would not recommend this phone, I would replace it if I was rich but unfortunately am stuck with it for another year inexpensive, great for internet, emails Internal memory

A great smart phone – I bought this phone because I needed internet access when I travel (because hotel internet can be quite expensive) and I wanted a good phone for general use. The Wildfire S is smaller than some of the HTC phones but it is lighter and fits into a pocket easily. It has touch type texting which is so good compared to the old system of tapping each… Read more

key to get to the right letter. The info on the screen can be enlarged so you can read the websites better.

All in all a nifty phone. Touch typing for texting.

Smart Android Phone – I bought this phone because I needed to use android apps along with net access where ever i go. I was little reluctant because of touch phone. But Wildfire S fulfill all my needs for a phone. Lighter in weight, fix into pocket easily. You can zoom in and zoom out at any website. You can check your mails, get notifications. All in one nice phone.… Read more

Budget Phone Great Value for Money ! – I buyed this ppone 1 year back and it is still going strong, really value for money, good camera, android os which means lots of apps , cool menu which allows many apps to be present, with expensive iphones and samsung galaxys around, this is good budget phone value for money. Recently, my wife spilled some curry on the screen and we thought… Read more ·  1

budget buy but beautiful – purchased this little beauty some months back and have had nothing but praise for it. Capabilities are excellent. size and handling also excellent. My Telstra shop was only too happy to recommend this unit to me and I am more than satisfied.I have had phones which cost significantly more and encountered numerous problems.. Keep it simple. Well done HTC Price very reasonable size very comfortable and efficiency high

Awesome phone on a budget – I have only had this phone for a couple of weeks but i would recommend it to anyone who is on a budget and is looking for a phone with all the bells and whistles without having paying a mint. It beats my old phone hands down, and although it cost less then my old phone it is at least 3 times as better Easy to use for a touch screen phone, thousands… Read more ·  2

of apps, pretty good battery life, has everything an iphone has besides the ridiculous price tag It takes a little bit of time to get used to it, a little more memory space wouldn't hurt
