No consistency and terrible attitude towards retail investors
First restricting positions on GME and AMC now weed stocks, opened position in SNDL for a little day trading yesterday, sold for a quick profit today, tried to buy back in on the dip to find it is only available for trading on leverage even thought it was perfectly fine to buy individual units the day before. Terrible consistency on day to day trading, taking my business elsewhere so i can actually control what i trade as opposed to a nasty brokerage taking my money to just block my attempts at opening positions.

I have been trading for while with ig when needed to withdraw some funds upon need. It’s been week and still no help from them. I will not do anyone business with ig and I sure will not recommend ig to anyone.
Very poor service
Worst support I have ever seen from a business. Still waiting to cancel an order which seems bugged out that I placed 28/1/21. Poor platform stability. Restricting GME purchase >1week.
Don't give them a cent
Absolutely criminal what they are doing with restricting buying of GME and AMC. Don't give them a cent of your money, find a trading platform that doesn't protect the 1%.
A completely corrupt company that have stopped retail investors from investing, yet are happy to allow billionaires to continue investing. Do not trust this business, extremely shady. You will lose your money.
They have blocked trading on gme and taken part in market manipulation. Also they have very high fees and they engage in market manipulation by banning stocks on an open market.
Do not believe their paid official reviews
Phone app had been unable to load charts for the last 3 months and customer support just tells me "we are aware of the issue just change charts from daily to 2h".
Participated in a share purchase plan and everyone has received their shares 3 days ago and their funds 5 days ago while IG users are still waiting for this useless platform to give us the shares and our money back. Meanwhile the price had tanked 15% while waiting for the shares when everyone else had already received them.
They have been paying for official reviews do not believe them.
Cannot connect platform last three nights!!!
I am a day trader and last three nights i couldn't get platform!!! Missed the positions few times!!!! Better change to others who can support high volume!! No recommend platform.
there is no customer service / horrible service. I am planning to switch to a different one. There is no chat support and impossible to talk to some one on phone.
slippage , delayed execution & stop loss with minimum points
guys one of the stupid thing is stop loss with minimum it means you cant move your stop loss untill 6 point or 10 points depends what futures or forex you trading with .so if you are a fast trader then IG is not for you
IG markets has slippage and delayed execution problem by the time you enter the trade its changes the price because when you enter it takes almost a sec to place your trade .

so if you are fast trader means if you trade on 1 minute - 5 minutes chart then stay away with IG.
Worse experience.. deposit money no problem... withdraw money u have to send ur personal account statements . Fraud
Worse experience. Don’t use it . It’s a poor platform. When u deposit money no questions asked . When u want to withdraw u have to go through 1000 of questions and send them personal account statement . If u haven’t do any trade less than 5 in three months u have to pay $50 service fees extra
Cannot even do the basic account set up
Tried to set up and activate the account with IG. Provided everything the asked. Then two months later, account is not active. Call the support and was told that application has expired as it took too long. Was asked to open another account again. Sorry, I don't want to trade my money with incompetent people.
DONT SIGN UP with IG
IG customer service/helpdesk staff are uninformed, rude and unhelpful. They say they will call you back but you don't ever hear back from them (called 4 times). In addition, IG's friends referral program is an absolute joke. They will find any excuse possible to deny you the referral bonus. You cannot get a straight answer as the referral team 'do not talk to the public'. I will be closing my IG account and tell my friends to do so.
WARNING! STAY AWAY!
They are slow and unreliable which leads to losses. Staff are uninformed, unprofessional and rude. The entire process from sign up and all the way through to account deletion is poorly managed and deceptive. I do NOT trust my money on a platform that actively cripples its own users. I am utterly baffled by how they even have clients. You may think now that you will save on IG because fees are "lower" but you will quickly miss a platform where you can safely and confidently transfer and invest your hard earned money. Run..
Worst customer service you can ever experience.
It was good till you deal with the extremely poor customer service/helpdesk, requesting for something simple like a trading statement is a pain. Being handballed from one customer service to another and it seams like none of them read your email. I had to explain something 7 times to 6 different people and still didn't get any resolution. If you end up calling it takes 45min to connect and what you get is an extremely unhelpful rude person who talks to you as if they are doing you a favor. It is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life for any product/service. Can't wait to slowly sell/transfer my shares and get out! :(
Use any means to hold onto your money when you want to withdraw it.
When you try to withdraw money from a trade, you wait 3 days (normal) for the trade to be final, then you ask to transfer to your bank - again, a normal 3 days. Then they contact you after these 6 days and say - oops, sorry - we need you to 'verify' your account. So...why not do that on opening the account and submitting funds? Then they want you to send a bank statement - with the actual payment you made (hope you have that...) and your full name and account details as well as the bank logo. Then, they won't tell you that, after successful ver...ification (took 2 tries in my case) that you AGAIN have to go in and ask for the transfer to be done. Yes, another "1 to 3" working days... Will see if there's yet another excuse... Go elsewhere, or get the verification done up front.
Broker to Broker Transfer
IG Markets are extremely slow in performing a Broker to Broker transfer - transferring ASX shares out of IG Markets to another broker.
I was told it may take 3 weeks which is not acceptable with today's technology.
You cannot speak with the transfer team so basically left in the dark. The IG Help desk can communicate via an internal email system however without success after multiple attempts.
I suspect it may take 4-5 weeks so I think it may be be quicker to sell stock within the IG platform and transfer the cash over to another broker - this should take 2 days.
This benefits IG Markets via commissions.
Be warned - IG Markets are very slow if you require your collateral with another broker.
My hard earned money was stolen by these thieves who seem to have ties to sovereign hedge funds that run the world. Don't bother about getting your money back. You are their slave and they can get away with stealing your money by changing the Terms and Condition without your consent or permission. Don't expect regulators to come 'save you'. They are fully aware of what's going on but they won't do much about it. It's only a crime if you were to rob a bank but a bank can rob anyone because it's perfectly legal. Their platform is incredibly dodgy and full of exploits and questionable but somehow it's perfectly legal. Not sure the federal police aren't involved in this.
Have cost me time and money and customer service is truly awful
So, I will start with some good, IG have one of the best trading platforms around, it’s quick, has cheap trades and is very easy to manage. Now the bad; me and my wife have always shared a trading account in the past, but we keep things under her name for tax purposes. On a morning where I needed to contact them because some positions were having IT issues, I was told that unless I provided a Power of Attorney form, they would have to suspend our account in 24hrs. We provided the form within 24hrs but the next day I am locked out of any new tra...ding. After spending over 30 mins on hold I am told that I did not fill the form out correctly and I need to set up a new account under my name just so I can trade under my wife’s account. They are unable to allow any new trading until the new forms are done. At this point we start the process of getting some money back into an old broker account just to trade, since we do this as part of our living, getting money back will take up to 5 days with a maximum of $35k a day(sigh). Just to add to the frustration I missed out on a 45% gain from a stock I had been watching for a few weeks and when my buy alert hit, I was unable to act on it. The quickest way to get trading again (we thought) was to fill these forms out again.They require a witness, so while working from home this is a massive inconvenience. The forms are sent the next day and we are still locked out 24hrs later. We call on the weekend and are told they will be processed on Monday. It’s now Friday and after 2 emails following up because I don’t have 30-60 mins to wait on hold each day, we’ve given up and are now waiting for all our money to be used on another broker. I get that IG have processes for security to allow trading under someone else’s name but there was no extension to allow us to use the account, unless the forms were processed (even after speaking to both of us). They failed to live up to their part of the agreement and I missed out on nearly a whole week of trading and this has cost me thousands. If you never plan to speak to your broker, or have any issues in the future that are not quick and easy to deal with then don’t bother using IG. Just truly awful customer service.
worst nightmare/ withdrawal seems impossible
Everything i have read below seem all legit. I wish I have read this before using this platform.

Worst of the worst / Took me 3 weeks to get my own money back
Changed my method of payment as I lost my card which was original method of deposit, they asked me so many documents like they are running a FBI. Countless emails sent but still no luck as cust service blaming credit team and credit team keep asking to send the documents again and again saying we can't read your documents, and then they said your account is fine at our end. Hopeless. Stay away, poor service. Company is not open honest and informative in regards to business practice, and quarterly charges
Cheap and you get what you pay for.
They have an O.K. platform with charts. Not very user friendly. They have cheap (there’s cheaper/better places)But will still charge you $50a quarter even if you can’t trade your assets.
Do not use IG
Do not use IG unless you plan on at least 3 trades per quarter or more. Their fees are horrendous for inactivity which no other platform seems to charge. Have always traded with CBA and read that IG had lower fees, hence setup an account and did a single $500 trade about a year ago and forgot about it, logged in today to see that I owe them $200, so much for low fees. Just plain thieves, there was no transparency when setting up the account about this fee. Moving and will never be back. Thanks for nothing IG.
POOR SERVICE HIDDEN COSTS
After trading the US market with Australian dollars I found the conversion fee horendous. When I first discovered what I have been paying, nobody at IG can explain to me how they calculate the fee because the staff actually have no idea. If you are privelaged enough for them to answer the phone or respond to your email, their calculations and examples of fees actually don't add up. Even their calculators don't work. Steer clear
Worst Customer Service ever - Do not sign up!
Useless customer service! Worst service I have ever come across! Just want to steal your money! I have been trying to withdraw funds back into my account for ages now and still they keep coming up with excuses. do not trade with these people they are absolutely horrible!
