Terrible internet speed and worse customer service
I have been with Iinet for 10 years, switched to the nbn in June. Since then I have had extremely slow internet speed having to use my mobile data to do a basic internet search in my living room!
The installation of the nbn was a joke. The technician was here for 2.5 hours, didn't bring a ladder or drill with him. He had to use our tools! When he left, the wall socket was dangling off the wall.
Customer service with iinet has been appalling. I have made multiple complaints about speed via the phone and email. They always promise to call me back...
Very reliable. The only dropout I have experienced occurred after Windows the other day took over my connection to do a major upgtade of their software and I went to bed before it finished. When I rose in the morning I had no internet connection but this was fixed by iinet. after I rang them.
No problems at all
Great service I have been with them for 15 years. I've only had 1 or 2 dropouts but any problems I've had are dealt with great customer service who go above and beyond to help.
I've also just signed my parents over who are happy as their old provider of 30 years left them with no phone or internet for 2 months as they couldn't get it to work. You guys came in and got them up and running in 2 weeks.

They are alright been with them for a long time. There tech support is always hit and miss depending on who you get. I had one guy who really couldn't be bothered to help me because I didn't have the iiNet modem. He wanted me to do Google searches and just told me he will wait until I figure it out. Isn't this his job as tech support. Then he told me to call the modem company for support which was a waste of time as they want $100 appox a year for tech support. He told me he would call back and didn't. Glad he didn't. Got onto someone else who ...was much more helpful. I had pretty much figure out most of it by then by myself but he did download the manual for my modem and went through it to confirm it was set up properly. So some are good and some are just plain old lazy. Internet it self is pretty good. If your move or have NBN upgrade or a fetch box problem expect the run around until you get onto someone who knows what they are doing and is willing to help. I'd say 1/3 of tech support are incompetent 1/3 are lazy and 1/3 are knowledgeable and helpful. Pray you don't get one of the ones who is both incompetent and lazy.
great for my needs
Have FTTN and working well with no known dropouts and speed always same when tested. iiNet have been so good when seeking support, always easy to communicate with quick diagnosis and rapid resolution of the few problems I have had once I changed to iiNet modem when joined NBN as VOIP was not supported by previous modem.
I've been so pleased I didn't change my Internet provider!
I joined AAPT, who (3 years later) were bought by iinet, who continued my great deal and good service. So I have been a customer of iinet for nearly 12 years, spanning various services from ADSL to NBN. Generally I have experienced reliable consistent service at good speeds.
When there have been problems such as when the whole area has failed due to fire/flood or other reason beyond their control, and when I moved house; I have been pleased that iinet have chosen to side with me, and have gone the extra mile in troubleshooting and solving the...issue. I teach Information Technology and have a good understanding of computers and where the problems lie. The call centre staff and technicians have always been polite, they even compensated me for any expenditure (a modem they said I needed to replace, but turned out wasn't broken) that I didn't need. I enjoy speaking to real people, who are kind, humourous individuals. iinet do not appear to be a company who breed this out of their staff, so when I speak to someone it a pleasure.
Works well, no issues
Very reliable service / connectivity over the past 1.5 years that I've had this service from iinet. In that time (following initial setup), I only had to call iinet once as my modem had dropped connectivity overnight. Customer service was very helpful, verified everything on my end was fine, they reset something on their end and I was back online.
I have no problems with data speed.
The service is very reliable. Some issues have arisen as a result of power failures and other inexplicable events but they have been satisfactorily dealt with by my service provider.

reliable but slow on peak times. company always works well to solve issues. staff on phone very ploite and helpful. bit disapointed company never offer discounts upgrades or incentives ie stocks shares for being a long term client feel a lot less valued for staying loyal

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Hopeless at getting in contact with and doing their job. Nothing infuriates me more than having to speak and deal with this company over the phone! We requested to have our internet transferred properties, what seemed like a simple task. They had had said they would send a technician out to set up our NBN. We waited 3 weeks, and which when we called to follow up about the transfer nobody knew what we were talking about or that we had requested in it the first place! We were offered through our gas and electricity provider broadband as well. So,...we decided to cancel our contract with IINET. Calling back a few weeks later after we noticed our modem was still connected to iiNet at the previous address, we were told that the last person to speak with us did not in fact do anything. Told us it was cancelled when it wasn’t. (At this time, we didn’t know the process and how are we supposed to, we don’t work there) they had then had us on hold for 45 minutes to tell us not to worry... we will cancel it. We end the phone call. We receive a voicemail at 10:30pm “hi I forgot to tell you I won’t be cancelling it as you’re in a contract and it’s $300 cancellation fee.” information you would think is important to know!! We call back, after on hold for another 45 minutes, bringing us in into 11pm, they state that they can’t do anything and have to wait for the cancellation team to give us a call back the next day. Now, this account was in my dads name. So therefore I asked the consultant if he could put me down so that I’m able to speak on his behalf. I receive a phone call back and told that I can’t be spoken with or discuss anything on this account!! SO now I’ll be on the phone AGAIN tonight. NOT ONLY do they make it difficult to set up but WASTE your time trying to CANCEL the damn thing. WORST company I have ever dealt with and TERRIBLE customer service. YES it is CHEAP. You sure get what you pay for!!!! GO ELSEWHERE!
perfect for us , provide everything we need using internet
the connection are reliable , experienced dropouts once a month when there's a maintenance , no issues with the service that's why we upgrade , technical support are very helpful and try their very best helping us with our problems .
at times it fails
somewhat reliable, experience some dropouts service is very good I sometimes have alot of trouble with connection Yesterday I couldnt get on to do anything everything was laggy and slow
I recently suffered a lightning strike which took out my internet connection and my solar panel array. After contact with iinet staff and some testing, it was arranged by iinet for an NBN technician to come to my home. He determined that the phone line was still intact, but the router was not connecting to the phone line - the router was only partially operative. A new router was quickly dispatched by iinet. The router arrived in two days after it was dispatched, which is remarkable for goods sent from the mainland ( I live in Tasmania). As soo...n as it arrived, I connected it up and I was back "online" within a short while. I used a pre-paid mobile to contact iinet, as I have a VOIP phone. The iinet phone back service allayed excessive costs. Several iinet staff helped with my problem. All were courteous and technically proficient. In total I received 9 "call backs" from iinet. I have been an iinet customer for over 9 years and I have always been impressed by the customer service offered by the company. During those 9 years iinet has progressed to being Australia's No. 1 ISP provider. I fully believe this is because of their exceptional customer service.

My new NBN fixed wireless connection has been reliable and running at the nominated speed since it was commissioned. I’m really pleased with all that iiNet has arranged for me
Our connection has dropped out in the past but not for a while now. When it did drop out, Iinet team members were able to advise why and give an overview of how long. Our only issues have been speed and dropouts. The speed issue was quickly resolved by a team member suggesting we use Ethernet cables instead of WiFi where possible. Have been with Iinet for 5 years now and would recommend them to anyone who asks.
Go Live with NBN
I have been with iinet for over 4yrs on NBN 25 plan, during my time the service has been overall very reliable quick and hassle free.
Sure there has been the rare time that I have experienced dropout but it normally back online in few minutes if not seconds. (other than plan maintenance)
Few days ago i upgraded to NBN 50 plan, this was due to service representive contacting myself and offer better deal based on my usage, I was extremely pleased with doing so.

iinett is excellent dealing with NBN problems.Technicians found 5 faults on the line.
Customer for 19 years
Commenced with II Net in the dial up days and progressed through ADSL and now on NBN. Found II Net helpful with getting the correct modems and making the changes smooth. They have been helpful when ever I have called with a query. This week had an e-mail which was made to look like coming from II Net but was from another source. Found their response to this as thorough and efficient.
We have an NBN wireless service which is very reliable. Early on we had a few drop outs which were due to NBN and out of iiNets control. We run a PC and wifi network (with ipad and iphones) and a VOIP phone. Service is very responsive too.
Long term customer
We started with Adam internet then morphed into iiNet and connected to the NBN. Other than some initial teething issues the service has been excellent, no dropouts or other issues.
