This Store is a Disgrace and Risk to shoppers
we attended this store yesterday afternoon and there was NO regard for shoppers health with respect to COVID19,social distancing and enforcement by security on site.
We questioned Staff and security who simply shrugged their shoulders as if COVID19 did not even exist,,it was business as ususal as far as they were concerned with people anywhere adn everywhere in teh store, walking in every direction with prams, trolleys, children as if it was a social outing.

Bed Frame, Mattress
I bought Ikea Queen Bedframe MALM with Mattress on 2/5/20 with delivery option. I was promised for delivery on 3/5/20 on the Invoice. It finally partially delivered on 4/5/20 with no reasons for partial delivery. After trying hours for their contact center and listening all rubbish from the automated phone options, finally I was able to speak to the Customer Care and they told missing bed frame is due to out of stock and advised me to keep checking with Ikea after few days and request them to resend the missing part. Customer care never acknowl...edged that they will make sure to deliver the missing part and stating that it is customer responsibility to keep following up till the delivery of the missing part and I am still chasing them for the whole week spending lot of time and unable to reach their contact centers as the phone continuously busy and my problem still not resolved. Ikea products may be good but their supply chain, customer care is so pathetic and made me losing the trust on Ikea brand.
Worst shopping experience ever! A contemporary role model for incompetency and bureaucracy!
At the end of March, I ordered a desk and a stool online, as a part of social distancing things, I just don't want to go to the shop myself. According to the website, says once it's ready to be picked up, I will be informed. I waited for a few days, nothing happened. So I called the customer service, one guy told me to keep waiting and never bothered to look into my order. I waited for about another few days, someone finally called me and saying and all items were out of stock. This is about a week after I placed the order. I should have just c...ancelled the whole order by the time. Long story short, I added another $32 and ordered another desk. The staff told me the legs of the desk will be posted to me. I made my payment straight away during the phone call. Two days later, someone called me and asked me to pay for the $32. What kind of internal communication system is this? I went to the shop picked up the top of the desk first. That was early April. There was still no trace of the legs. I made phone call again tried to figure out where the legs were. I was told they are not trackable. I tried my best to withhold my anger during this period of time because the COVID situation. Finally, yesterday, I got the legs, but guess what? I ordered 5 legs and I only got 4. I have to make another phone call to the customer service again to get my $5 back. I was just told someone from payment team will call me within 48 hours. I hope someone can do the job properly this time. And YES, I will get my $5 back, because, after all this, I will never let the $5 slipped into IKEA's pocket for nothing. And I will update the final result once the I get my money back or not get it back.

A Screw Loose
Opened box containing frame to put together, 6 screws missing, the box has a hole in it with loose items inside, see photo. Also brackets missing to hang picture. I don’t want to go back to change, no one there to help on day of purchase and getting in and out of the Tempe store was a nightmare...oh fairly easy to assemble but hope it stays together, and bunnings has bracket
Terrible Click and Collect service
My experience with ikea click and collect was very odd, not in a good way. I had about 45 small items in my bag that had ordered online. 4 days passed and i was contacted by ikea that one of the items is not available anymore and the lady advised that I should be receiving a text/e-mail indicating my order is ready to be collected. That was already two days later than the date i had put as my collection date. During the wait time, i tried multiple times to track my order online through ikea “order track” link but my order number was not found!!...! Anyways i contacted ikea customer service again and they told me that the order is ready however i still had not received confirmation so i called the store directly and they confirmed that the order is ready. I quickly drove to the store and waited for my stuff. When the trolly showed up i was really amazed as they were missing more than half of my items!!!!! They had about 20 items in the bag and they didn’t know about the remaining 25 or so items. I still don’t know how this could ever happen?? They do have a list, right? Anyways I suggested to pick the items myself and did it in less than 15 minutes however had to wait in the queue for another 40 minutes (in returns and collect queue) so they can reconcile the items and account. So items were checked one by one and i was out of ikea 2 hours after i arrived. I could have done the whole shopping in 45 minutes but decided to try contactless click and collect and ikea failed me miserably. How could they forget about half of the order and how come no one checked the order??? Anyways that was my first and last experience with ikea click and collect. Will never waste my time again on that
Ikea can't refuse your cash, legally!
At the time I wasn't aware of this official statement from Australia Mint but had I knew it would've changed the outcome. I totally wasted my time, petrol and energy going there with my cash. Unfortunately you can't post anything on their facebook page or contact a person because everything is online, right! But here is the proof:
Wish I could make this public - to shame their attitude. Businesses CAN NOT refuse your cash - print this page and let them call their manager.
IKEA assemble ludacrous
That's ridiculous. Assembly of your furniture is ludicrous. NEVER have I had a difficult time trying to figure it out. I couldn't do it. And left it. Not DONE
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY
I wish there was a ZERO star rating because the poor quality of this product is defies belief. The assembly instructions of the product has no logical sequence. And they are ambiguous at best!
The material quality is worse than the Chinese crap you buy online.
No other manufacturer/ retailer in the world forces customers to walk through the entire store just to buy one item. This is just shear arrogance. Time wasting and profiteering. You're better of setting fire to your money than buying this rubbish!
Do yourself a favor and save your time and money and, Don't ever buy these products!
Refund was pain free and quick
Had lost my receipt for some brackets I purchased for the windows. The service attendant was pleasant and offered a store credit. It was quick easy and satisfying. Love ikea!
One of my Favourite Stores of all Time
The customer service? Fantastic. The food and drinks available at the restaurant? Absolutely delicious. The quality of the products? Amongst the best and most reliable items I have ever purchased. My family and I have, and always will, love Ikea and it’s welcoming atmosphere. We often go to this store for their incredible breakfasts before exploring their vast range of products which suitor for all buyers. I truly commend this store for their dedication towards ensuring that the quality of the products and the customer service remain applaudabl...e regardless of the product’s incredible prices. We always leave the store with a trolley full of wonderful items at amazing prices and a stomach full of delicious food. I am very excited to shop in store again after quarantine has ended :)
One payment method only
After ordering a new Kitchen at IKEA, I was told 'Card Only' for the payment, which was difficult as my cards (CREDIT & Visa Debit) do not have authorisation for such a large purchase. I had to go into my bank & have the daily transaction amount lifted and then the card was still blocked as it was deemed a suspicious payment due to being made through a website. And then because the payment wasn't made on the day the link was sent, IKEA cancelled the order. When I rang IKEA, after waiting 20 minutes, I was told to rebook the kitchen planning appointment. Back to the start of the process. Very frustrating. What about making BPay possible??? I woudn't have to deal with the bank and save me the time and frustration!!!
I ordered my items for home delivery two weeks ago and was asked to chose a date which I did. On 23 April I was sent an email to inform me my goods would be delivered between 8 am and 8 pm on 28 April. I have been tracking and all day it says they are in transit. Customer service has just told me they are being delivered from Sydney and will be here some time this week.
Terrible Kitchen Quality and Warranty
Within 3 years of having a new ikea kitchen our cabinets have begun to flake like wheetbix and the sink has chipped around the edges. Warranty replacement was requested and rejected due to "excess water in the kitchen" Last time i checked we never had a flood inside the house and of course we mop but we dont swim in the bloody water. Terrible service avoid buying a kitchen from these clowns full stop
Terrible customer service and faulty product
Purchased set of drawers via click and collect. Drawer runners were made of cheap plastic and faulty (would not sit flat). Took the item back to North Lakes. Staff offered a refund card, what they did not explain is that it cannot be used for online purchases, or even click and collect. Called Customer Service and after waiting for an answer for 20 minutes, they confirmed the refund card cannot be used for click and collect/ delivery. This was not explained at time of item return. Very misleading and disappointed with the lack of transparency.

Awful experience - Don't waste your time
Worst customer experience! I purchased a chair as a gift for a colleague 3 weeks ago - received the order confirmation, tax invoice and the funds were taken from my account. I arranged a pick-up from the Rhodes store. I then receive a call saying there was a mistake and the chair is no longer available from the Rhodes store. I check online and Tempe has them in stock so I ask the Customer Service Rep to amend my order to a pick-up from Tempe. He checks stock and confirms there are 6 chairs available. He assures me that because this is a manual ...request and not an online order, my chair will be picked as a priority. He says he will email through the amended pick-up confirmation and that someone will notify me when I can pick up the chair. Days go by without hearing from anyone via email or phone and the chair is now showing as sold out online so I call Customer Service on Monday morning. I'm told that my chair has in fact been picked but for some reason it has not been marked as "ready for pick-up" (annoying, but at least my chair has been put aside). I'm told that I need to wait until the Tempe store opens at 10am and then the After-sales team can release my order for pick-up. At 1pm I receive a call from the Customer Service Rep saying that although the system is indicating that my chair has been picked, it had not, and the chair was now unavailable. It will be months before they get more stock of this chair. She tells me to choose another chair and I tell her they are now all sold out. She then proceeds to check stock of all the chairs while on the phone with me - all sold out, like I said. I ask if I change the order to delivery, when would be the earliest I receive it? She says stock for delivery comes from a separate distribution centre and the delivery would be in 3 weeks. I ask her to change my order to delivery. The gift for my colleague would be late but at least I could tell her it was definitely coming and at this point I only had 3 days to find an alternative present. I'm told by the Customer Service Rep that only her manager can approve the change to delivery so she transfers me to him. When I speak to him, he tells me my chair has been picked at the Tempe store, awaiting pick-up. I ask him if he's certain, as I Iiterally just had the same conversation with his colleague and it was a mistake. He puts me on hold again (at this point I've been on the phone for 1.5hrs) only to come back and repeat the same story his colleague gave me. What a complete waste of 30 mins! Do they not communicate with each other when transferring calls?? I tell him the whole point of me being transferred to him was to approve the change from pick-up to delivery. He puts me on hold again while he checks. He comes back to say their IT Department needs to fix the system as although the website indicates a date for delivery, they don't know when, if ever, the chairs will be stocked again. He says what he can do though, is arrange for a refund. Wow, thanks Captain Obvious! At this point, all up I've spent around 4 hours on the phone and have been told 4 times that I had the chair. I understand that companies are under increased pressure due to high demand so could forgive this happening once or twice even. But four times, and twice within the same call! I'm told that I will receive a $50 voucher by email, a call from his manager the next day and a refund of my funds into my bank account within 3-5 days. That was two weeks ago. No call back, no voucher and I only just received an email overnight saying my refund is now being processed and can take up to 5 days to clear. Ikea is so quick to take your money for goods they don't have and take weeks to refund it. Appalling.
Paypal not supported
Spent ages picking the items I want to buy online then I go to pay and it doesnt give me an option to pay via paypal. 2 Contradicting things on your website. Payment FAQ says I can use it, then checkout says I cant. Come on guys. Pick up your act!
No Sense of Responsibility or Customer Respect
I purchased a Queen size mattress, which turned out to be about as comfortable as a granite slab. Read on the website about the mattress exchange policy available, so I contacted via email to organise this on 2/4. I have since been attempting to converse and organise this with their customer support to no avail; not only have I spoken to a different person in each and every email, but its now 16/4 and I still have not gotten any closer to resolving this. Eventually gave up and called their support number.
I've been advised that if I want to exc...
Too frustrating to complete order
Have tried multiple times to order. Can't get past the Ikea Family number. Rang customer service and they suggested I wait a couple of hours and try again
Waited 10 hours, tried again, same problem! Extremely disappointed and frustrated that the ordering system should be easier and straightforward. Have ordered previously, which was fast and delivery was prompt. Unfortunately will not try again.
The Ikea on line ordering system is too problematic now. Have no idea what has changed, but change it back PLEASE !
Avoid at all costs
Absolutely terrible. Website does not work and also strings you along for weeks and weeks indicating product availability that doesn't exist. Staff also keep this perpetually going by providing wrong information then blaming website errors on coronavirus. Buy elsewhere don't waste your time.
Good Customer Service Experience
I order online shelves and requested home delivery on the wrong date. It was easy to get through to a real person and change the date, I felt like a bit of an idiot but the girl I spoke to was nice about it. I got a delivery window on the morning of the delivery and the order turned up on time.
I'm not a huge fan of the IKEA aesthetic but I'd go back there for online purchases based on this experience. The shelves were as advertised and easy to put together by my self.
Questions & Answers
We installed a Faktum kitchen in 2014 and have since been given a full refund, and I see, so have many of you. I love the functionality of the drawers and cupboards, which are still in perfect condition. However we are very disappointed (and surprised) by the lack of durability of the cabinetry.
Anyway, we are about to purchase another home and the kitchen desperately needs pulling out and redesigning. My husband is very keen to do another IKEA kitchen, whilst I have many reservations. Thought I'd check in to see if anyone can give me an up to date review of the Metod kitchens, in particular the white Bodbyn style of cabinets. We used a similar look in our current kitchen and it yellowed very badly. Can you tell me if your white Bodbyn cabinets have yellowed at all? Are they crazing? Is there any chipping? Can they handle having water drip down or onto them (it is a kitchen after all)?
Also, can I have feedback about the Ekbacken bench top, please? Thanks -
are you open on good friday (tomorrow)
I have a chopping board look bench top walnut I bought it three years ago n it’s faded in parts and I have been using your tin of oil
