This appliance gives me a good night's sleep
Every winter I am plagued with a cough that lingers for months and my Physio recommended I get a humidifier. I researched and this one seemed to perform well plus has a great design. To avoid a disturbed night's sleep due to excess coughing, I fill up and plug in my ION90 and get a good night's sleep. I know it works, because whenever I have slept without it, my cough kicks in - so I would highly recommend this to anyone with the same problem. The only disadvantage is having to remove the top part and turn upside down to fill with water, bu...t I believe that all humidifiers are the same - there must be some reason it can't be filled from the top. Also, I have to cover the front of it, as the illuminated panel on the front is quite bright, but the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.
Purchased in October 2018 for $210.00.
Helped us in our sleep and dry skin
I have been suffering from allergies including very dry eyes and throat and good thing i have this ion90 and it has been a great help..Living on a mountain, the air is very dry but noticed the change when we use this humidifier. My husband as well noticed the difference in his sleep pattern when we used this , can really recommend this one.
September 9th 2016 Update: The light is tolerable and noise is just enough
For me the light is tolerable, just enough, as well as the noise, if you can tolerate the noise in your laptop fan, its just the same.. with the light.i just put it in one corner of my room that doesn't go directly to my eyes :) So basically can still recommend this humidifier unlike with other units
too noisy and too bright
It was nice to be able to set the humidity level for whole night, but not quite if it's too noisy too bright to sleep with it!
If there's any way to turn the light off and get the noise level down, I would love it even more...
Questions & Answers
I am trying to fit a new IONMaxn 90 filter ... and the new filter has a removable cap.
Do I remove the cap to use it or just loosen it?
The old filter just screws out and the new one one screws in.
Thanks Janabelle! The filter has been updated in style with a removable cap.. and instruction not to lose the cap.
I am wondering if the cap should be removed when in use.
My apologies Lyn, I replied without having a good look. I have just been and checked mine, as I have a spare filter and see what you mean. There is a screw on top and an arrow indicates which way to turn it to loosen. When you do this (you can do with your hands quite easily, so don't need a screwdriver) you can remove the cap, give it all a clean before attaching the new filter to the cap. Hopefully you find this information useful.
I have found that the temperature of the mist feels the same (cool) whether or not it is set to warm. The website states that it has cool or warm mist, and yet I don't have warm mist coming from mine. Does anyone else notice the same?
I did contact the Company re. the temperature of the mist, as I thought I had a faulty machine, but apparently even though it is warm mist, it feels cool to the touch. When I placed a thermometer at the base of the steam, it did indeed show that it was warm (35 to 40 degrees C) but felt cool when I placed my hand in the mist. I hope this clears up the query for anyone else who may be wondering if they have a faulty appliance.
