Informative website which had all the instructions required & advice to purchase within 3 months of travel, not before. Quick delivery with exchange voucher arriving by express post within a couple of days of ordering. Good information in the free Japan Rail Pass guide provided. JR rail pass easy to use in Japan & also allows travel on tourist buses in Hiroshima, the ferry to Miyajima & JR buses in Kanazawa. Reserved seats at no extra cost when booking tickets at JR offices. Definitely value for money if travelling round Japan.
Fast and Reliable
Fast Shipping and Reliable Service. Easy to buy. Recommended to buy before flying to Japan. I will definitely use this service again when im going back to Japan. Excellent Service!
Streamlines your rail travel through Japan
Useful and cost effective for the tourist utilising Japan's extensive rail system. The JR offices are located in stations all over the place and the staff are very helpful when trying to plan the best connections on this vast network.
100% recommend when in Japan
I’m definitely advising everyone to get a JR pass when going to Japan and using PT. It would have cost us so much more if we had just paid trip by trip. Also this website (Japan Rail Pass Now) delivered my pass the next day when I ordered it (From Melbourne). Amazing.
Fast, reliable, clean. Five stars. Iwill reconment for famaly and friends to use when they go to Japan . The service is excellent, especialy with English announcement to help you to your destinaton

7 Day Pass
Could not fault it. Easy to buy, even easier to book seats and fantastic value. The trains are great and I would certainly use again. Can I suggest you introduce a 10 day pass. I think it would fit a big gap as the14 day is too long
Well worth it
Easy to use
Economics work if doing a lot of Shinkansen trips
Good if also using the JR Yamanote line in Tokyo
Also easy to exchange at the airport with minimum fuss
Worth Queuing for 2 Hours at Haneda
The rail service provided by Japan Rail lives up to its legendary reputation. Our trains were on time and maintained to a very high standard. We used the airport monorail into Tokyo and the Green Car ticket on the Shinkansen to Hokkaido which was very comfortable. We also used the limited express train to Toya Station and found that to be up to the best European standard that we have experienced. The JR staff throughout our visit travels were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. We knew that we needed to reserve seats on the trains and found...this to be quick and easy to do at JR service desks. The trains are heavily booked so booking a few days ahead prevents disappointment. Thankfully, we were warned to ship most of our baggage including a large ski bag, separately from Haneda Airport to Hokkaido as JR and other Metro trains and Shinkansen are not suited/equipped to carry any significant baggage. There are facilities at Haneda airport and other airports where you can transfer baggage at very reasonable cost to local or distant destinations. It really helps to have the postal address in Japanese and phone number of the destination available to enable the very helpful booking staff to ensure correct and timely delivery. Before departure from Australia we obtained exceptionally helpful advice on how to use the JR rail pass from: Japan National Tourism Organization Sydney Office Suite 1, Level 4, 56 Clarence St, Sydney NSW 2000 p: +61 2 9279 2177 (Public enquiries open Tu/Th 2-5pm NSW time) w: www.jnto.org.au VisitJapanAU on Facebook | Instagram | Youtube
Great simple easy very fast and efficient, was quick and easy to use cheaper than booking through my flight agent ! Not much more to say I have to get it
Easy to use
Very happy with the Japanese rail system and pass accessibility to parts of Japan. Book Shinkansen’s day prior to travel and you should be fine. Well worth it, can recommend.
Excellent value for money and easy to use
Quick to arrive, great value for money, great for the bullet trains and saved us a great deal of money. It allowed us to travel extensively and the train stations are easy to navigate if very large
Well worth it
Used the pass every day to get around Japan. Would definitely recommend to those travelling to multiple parts of the country. Make sure you have plenty of time to change you pass at the airport
Totally recommend for intercity travel in Japan
Japan Rail pass was a dream for our trip to Japan - the attendants at the station were clearly used to the pass and we always got a smiling wave when we went through any station gates. Can also be used on monorail to Tokyo Haneda airport which we hadnt realised. Completely worth it if doing any intercity travel and you get to use the amazing " grade" shinkansen trains which are still AAA grade if you are used to anything in Australia
Straight forward and excellent value
Purchasing our JR passes was very easy. There was great information to help us decide on the best pass for our needs. Exchanging the vouchers for the passes in Japan was straight forward. The digital travel guide to Japan was a great bonus!
The JR pass made our holiday in Japan so easy with the cost of tickets already taken care of. We were able to travel everywhere we wanted to go (apart from a few subway rides) and it was so easy to use. I would say it was definitely worth the cost so great value. The only downside was the huge queue at Narita airport to redeem the pass. JR staff were super helpful though right throughout our trip. Thoroughly recommend.
Essentials to explore Japan
Travel on Japan Rail was always a pleasure, clean, comfortable, efficient, fast, punctual public transport. The extensive network made for easy reach to everywhere in Japan. The Japan Rail Pass in this scenario allowed freedom, pleasant, unencumbered and spontaneous exploring of Japan with all focus on the ‘where’ and ‘what’ to visit with little or no thought required on ‘how’ to reach it - a really relaxing, enjoyable holiday experience.
Best way to get around Japan. Third time we have used it. Easy system anyone can use and great for getting reserved seats on many trains throughout Japan. Highly recommended
An Amazing Experience
Easy to reserve seats at any JR office , including trips involving multiple Shinkansen. Every train , without exception, departed on time and was spotlessly clean ! Great value for money . Couldn’t recommend the JR Pass more highly !
Perfect buy for our trip to Japan!
Very easy to use across the Japan Railway stations. Even though we required to use the subway lines for some of our trips, this still saved us heaps of money.
Japan Rail Pass
The pass was great very convenient to use . The staff at the exchange office and the ticket office in Shinagawa were amazing help and spoke great English so we could understand what to do.
Awesome product well worth buying one if you are planning to travel around in Japan.
Easy to use, easy to book tickets and extremely comfortable.
Would use this again when in Japan
JR 14 Day Rail Pass
I believe a JR pass is a must for anyone spending 14 days or more in Japan. The caveat being that you intend to do spend time in two or more cities. The pass really comes into its own for inter city travel throughout the length and breadth of the country. We mad the most of the pass locally this time round when we spent 4 days in Hiroshima. We used the pass for the hop on and hop off tourist bus and the local train and ferry to Miyajima.
Buying the JR rail pass is very convenient. Just bare in mind it is only used on JR trains and the shinkansen. Ticket purchase is still required for the subway. If you get on a JR train and then transfer to a subway line, you will need to purchase a ticket when you exit at the subway station or before you depart.
I could not recommend the JR pass more though as you will save time and money!
Excellent service and reliability
For the price it is really well worth it, just be sure to reserve your seats as soon as you can and at least one day in advance. Some Shinkansen are very full, and you may not be able to get a seat. We did that and had no issues, trains ran on time all the time as you expect from JR.
Japan Rail Pass is Fabulous and worth it
Was easy to purchase and delivered quickly even in the pre Christmas mail madness.
We have been using the Pass throughout Japan for the Shinkansen and local JR Lines especially around Tokyo and Osaka cities. When we compared the cost of purchasing individual tickets to the JR Pass is was clear that purchasing the pass would be the best value. Then when adding the local JR Line use in the cities that has been a bonus.
Using the JR Pass in Japan is easy. The train stations clearly show where you need to go to quickly show the pass as passing through the gate. Also exchanging the voucher for the pass at KIX airport was a breeze.
If you plan on utilising the super efficient transport system in Japan the JR Pass is worth it.
