Perfect, love it

published

Ive found the van to be perfect for what we want, its very comfortable, lots of cupboard space, great mattresses, I cant complain, but one or two things, the window blind played up since we bought it, but under warranty was replaced by Jayco, we did not understand how to use water tanks thinking that they empty separately or empty together still we do not know its a bit mysterious. Any answers would be appreciated. Indication showas that one of the tanks is full but we cant use it.. also the grouting around the sink seemed to edge away, we also had that replaced by Jayco under warranty, overall I'm happy just need my questions answered, re water tanks....

Absolute rubbish. Should have just bought a tent.

This Jayco vans are a absolute joke. Don't waste your money on one of these things, build quality is absolutely disgusting, everything in the van either brakes or falls off. When dealing with head office to get things fixed they actually told me that starcrafts are a pathetic van and should stop being built. You would be more comfortable sleeping in the back of your old datsun.

Good value but needs refinement

published

I bought my Jayco StarCraft outback 2016 few weeks back, great van my third Jayco. They represent value for money but some irritating problems doors sticking, poor finishing and alignment of cabinetry but overall good. The mirror fell off day one on the tarmac didn't get chance to hit the dirt. That said Jayco do a good warranty service but my suggestion put piano hinges on the cupboards, put a shield around the draw bar tap and seal up the van better for dust. My last Expanda outback we took on the Gibb River Road no problems but they do have some quality problems that need attention. That said I would probably still buy another one

Better caravans on the market.

published

We purchased a 2015 Jayco Starcraft 13 ft two months ago. The van tows beautifully, however the finishing and attention to detail is sloppy. Already one overhead cupboard has broken at the hinges, as the springs are too strong. Air con vibrates when on and was installed off centre which looks weird.
Perhaps the older Jayco vans were built better.

Jayco = Junko

published

Purchased our Jayco in 2014 and have had nothing but trouble, a whole lot of regret and absolutely appalling customer service. Shower screen cracked very early on and have had leaks throughout the van in various places. Jayco wanted nothing to do with us, would not return phone calls.. eventually came out a few times to take photos but never got back to us. We were finally told they weren't going to repair it.. we are so disappointed with this purchase and have been advising everyone to stay away from Jayco... there are so many excellent brands of caravan on the market, wish we had purchased something with a better reputation... you live and learn... and we have certainly learnt our lesson.

Terrific outback pop top with ensuite

published

Terrific outback pop top with ensuite, travelled 10000k in 8 weeks. Toilet had wife very happy. All solar and battery system made us very independent. Got a bit dusty, but fixed with silicone and fitted positive induct vent- should be mandatory. Otherwise great. Our second Jayco and we are very happy. Reasonably priced, get what you pay for. Ours is now dust repellent. Seal around wheel arches and fit snorkel induct for positive atmosphere and have rig as good as double the price. Towing in line on dirt roads A1

Jayco Starcraft

published

We have bought a brand new Jayco StarCraft in New Zealand. We had several problems with the dealer that sold it to us. Our first holiday in the caravan we found leaking problems in the walls. Contacted Jayco in Australia because Auckland agent was not interested and no help from them. Problem has now got worst in other walls. Would not buy from Jayco ever again. Judy Nash

Fibreglass cracking

published

We have a 2009 Jayco Sterling.
The fibreglass is cracking very bad on one side.
We contacted Jayco Melbourne, as many people have, and got the run around.
Someone from the Gold Coast came out and inspected the van.
We were told it was no fault of Jayco's, it is age & upkeep (CRAP!!!)
We hear It's happening to a lot of Jayco's from people in caravan parks & in reviews
We did take it further but got no where.
My husband built fibreglass boats for years & knows about fibreglass.
We were going to upgrade to a Silverline NOT NOW.
Just don't go near Jayco they don't stand by their product.
You can see why, it would cost them a fortune to repair the faults they have in their product
