JBL Xtreme 2
It's a dud.Failed after approx total of 5 hours of use.
Never again will I ever buy JBL products.
JBL have failed miserably.
I will never buy another JBL product.
Nothing more to say, except to say you have been warned.
Don't waste your money.

Same as the last version. Problems
So Im a big Jbl fan. but this and the extreme version one are total and utter garbage.
The original version had battery issues. this too, power regulator issues, this too.
I give up. Sold it on gumtree.
Purchased at Harvey Norman.

Sounds great but will only last 18 months to two years
Purchased late 2019 JB HIFI.
Stopped charging just after warranty ended.
Customer service would not assist as problem occurred at 13 months. (Standard warranty 12 months).
Purchased new battery only to discover it still will not charge, so is obviously the charger itself.
So disappointed with this speaker as JBL had a reputable name I assumed it was a reliable purchase.
Surprisingly I have an old turntable from 1970s that works perfectly. Cassette player from the 80s going strong.
For anyone thinking of buying a JBL extreme 2 I would highly recommend the extended store warranty. JBL aren’t interested in your faulty product that does not function as intended after 12 months.
Purchased in for $269.

JBL have made this speaker obsolete within one generation by changing Connect+ to PartyBoost
The JBL Xtreme 2 wont be able to talk to the JBL Xtreme 3 when it comes out here soon. No backwards compatibility as the Conenct+ is replaced by PartyBoost. This is not good at all and makes old speakers obsolete within a year or two. Now they did that with JBL Connect (Xtreme 1), which can't talk to JBL Connect+ (Xtreme 2).
As a JBL user for 20 years, I am disappointed no end, and will no longer buy their products. Couldn't be more disappointing with this brand as I have only purchased JBL speakers for many years.
Purchased in for $399.

It is mostly good, but some surprising disappointments.
Purchased July 2020 from The Good Guys for $385.
Pros:
Good to very good sound quality. Good enough to play classical music with "high fidelity".
Sounds pretty good at low volume as well, ( while many competitors just lose the plot, become very "cloudy" or cut out altogether.)
Relatively easy to set up and connect to Bluetooth devices.
Can connect simultaneoulsy to several Bluetooth devices.
Has phone answering capability. ( Not yet tried.)
Has a line input. ( Not yet tried.)
Can be daisy-chained to other JBL bluetooth speakers, ( not yet tried.)...

Daily
I use this every single day it's amazing to have it last for a few days off charge. Good for a small house or beach. I might buy a smaller one
Purchased at JB Hi-Fi.
VERY HAPPY
Easy to use and great sound. Charges quickly. My only issue is the size. It's a real barrel can.
Thinking about getting smaller JBL...just for the convenience of travelling etc... Great product.
