Hi all. Help! My Jeep Cherokee 2012 won’t drive over 40km/ph. I think I left the lights on all day (weird because it usually beeps to remind me) I got it jumpstarted. Ran the car for 10 minutes before driving however it wouldn’t drive over 40km/ph so I went back to work and left it running for another 10 minutes and still the same thing happened when I tried to drive it again. The battery is not that old. I did fiddle around under the steering and near pedals trying to find the bonnet switch inside the car

2011 kk 2.8 cherokee ltd extremely noisy idle noise after initial 5000 km. The vehicle has now done 40,000 km.& regardless weather engine hot or not the noise is at times like a bucket of bolts being shaken about. My dealer of which I have no complaints, has tried many times & has put in lots of time to try & determine what causes the noise but whilst admitting that the noise is real cannot identify the source which is strangely loudest on the drivers side! I have had continuous Limp Home problems which has after 6+ years been identified & addressed by Fiat Chrysler Jeep 8 months ago, by Replacing the Turbo & Resetting the Management Computer! So far So good & I only hope this has now permanently fixed this problem!!
Can Anyone Offer Any Clues As To What Is Causing This Infuriating Noise??

Hi Is the noise inside? I have they tried to check under the seats? It sounds crazy but i had incessant squeaking & rattling from inside and apparently cushioning was needed to stop the noise.

Unfortunately Liliana not in this case, the rattling is quite a deep sound like large nuts and bolts rolling/rattling around in a bucket & emanates Directly in Front of the Drivers
side of the engine, although the service people did remove & reinstall the exhaust system to no avail but thank you for your input. Thank You from Rustydog

Not a clue. Try calling a Jeep dealer or reach out to Jeep direct (if you haven't already)

When the code P0740 is set in the Powertrain Computer, it means that the Powertrain Computer or PCM is seeing greater than a 200 RPM difference between the rotational speed of the Torque Converter and the Transmission Input Shaft. So you either have a problem with the torque converter, or one of the two sensors or wiring is damaged/faulty.

I got a 2011 KK and i love it. No trouble at all over 100.000 km except normal wear and tear. Got an OEM "Sport" 2" Lift Kit installed wich improves the Ride considerably compared with the original . Highly recommend that.

Never had this problem. Sorry can't help.
Sounds like you should check automatic choke or clean injectors.

Got a noisy air con goes up with the revs changed compressor, recharged it same noise steady pressures on gauges
on the run correct temps perfect can't fault it. I think it's nvh, also new idler water pump and belt. Anybody know or where to look? I'm annoyed with it. Help!

Was the noise still there when the air con. was turned off? If not , then the compressor is at fault, If the noise was still there with the a/c off, it is probably one or both of the idler pulleys on the right side of the engine with worn ball bearings. If the noise was coming from either the alternator, power steering or water pump bearings, you would have other associated problems allied with the worn component eg.low battery charge, hard steering, overheating, etc. The air conditioning compressor is switched on by an electrically operated clutch, and ideally should be activated when the engine is running slow, rather than at high speed. It could make the difference to whether the unit lasts 300000kms or 30000kms. It does not matter at what speed you turn it off.

noise goes with compressor off I drive along with a/c on its noisy press a/c off its gone compressor when taken off , old one no metal in oil drained new compressor put
appox. 100ml of new compressor correct type turned over new compressor to lubricate. fitted it had it charged ; but it was not evacuated for long perhaps 10 mins then charged . we are carrying out further tests today to test tx valve to see if its malfunctioning should have changed it with new compressor .
we have been told if its not correct it can pool liquid instead of gas in to compressor and a liquid cant be compressed could destroy compressor may be our noise
will let u know if this freeze test on tx sheds any light
yours pedro
