Great for the busy person who urgently need help.
I have been a life member of Jenny since the 80’s and have returned for the 4th time at age 61. I find it’s the only diet that I lose a substantial amount of weight. I like the visual picture it gives me of how much food we should actually be having each day. When you reach your goal weight it’s firmly fixed in your mind for the future.
As to cost, if you’re sticking strictly to it it’s not expensive at all. I’m spending less on food shopping now.
For the older person
I am 67 and 12 kilos over weight from a diet of lots of junk food. The great food is yummy and easy which suits me not having to do too much preparation etc. I still have lots of time to do other things. Home delivery works well. All in all am happy to be eating healthier and the weight is dropping easily. Its setting me up to be healthy as I gracefully grow older !
Works for me
My mum bought me lifetime membership in 1987, i was 16.
She must have known I'd be yo yo er.
I've been back 4 times and each time I've lost the weight I needed. I like the structure it provides and when going inside the stores the support I need.
The quality of the food has been worse this time around feels cheap and doing it online the councillor stopped checking in on me. But it's been 7 weeks since I started and I've lost 17kg, so it works.
In the past I've tried weight watchers, a few of the shake diets, CSRIO, all sorts of prescription m...edications and most recently keto, they all work to a point. But nothing gives me the simplicity of jenny Craig. Buying the food in two week batches gives me free delivery and with 10% membership discount my food costs around $160 a week for 1800 calorie menu. Which when compared to others is the cheapest out there.
Greedy Jenny Craig
I have been on the program previously and lost over 30kg and kept it off for several years. Only put it back on due to emotional reasons. I am now on the program again, and it is working, however, due to COVID we are having the food delivered. As of the next delivery, they are charging for delivery! This is disgraceful. We have no choice but to have food delivered and we pay premium prices for the food whilst still needing to purchase our own fruit, veg, bread and dairy. This makes it a very expensive program, so to charge us for delivery is OUTRAGEOUS. I am rethinking my position regarding this service.
I found in week one I was obsessing about the food - when could I eat next, what could I eat and did feel a bit hungry on occassions - but did lose 2.5kg in week one. Now just finishing week 2 and not so obsessed this week and still enjoying the food and lost another 1.1kg. So with 2 weeks under my belt and 3.6kg down - this is the best decision I have made in a long time when it comes to food. There has only been 1 meal that I haven't really enjoyed, but the rest have been fine. I have a long journey ahead, but feel now starting my 3rd wee...k, I am finally on the right track. Anyone thinking about doing it - I would say, give it a go. It isnt cheap, but it will be worth it for me to get back into a happy place with my weight. And being able to have the food delivered and remote coaching works with my lifestyle.
Stick to it
My view on Jenny Craig is it works. Now whether that be because the meals are small, and yes you need to fill up on other free items, but I can tell you it works.
But.. I don't like a lot of their meals. Smaller serves on some items because of the calorie content, so I would rather eat something that I know will sort of satisfy me like the Parma, fish and wedges, spaghetti and meatballs and a few others. The lunches need some improvements, their bland and boring so I usually stick to the pies or quiches. But again, I have always lost weigh w...
Easy to stick to
Yes some of the foods are high in fats/carbs but it keeps me for eating the rubbish I used to, so I am losing weight, in a few weeks when I finish I will be able to get my own meals as I now have an idea of how easy it is to stick to my 1200 cals. a day. Thanks Jenny Craig.
Good program if you stick to it
I have done JC about three times now, lost weight and enjoyed the food. My only criticism would be the disgraceful premises in Midland WA, the walls are badly in need of a fresh coat of paint, the stairs are carpeted and either need replacing or taking off all together. One consultant I had in the Morley store was so overweight herself I could not stand going to my weekly consults and being told off for not losing weight that week. So, there has to be some upgrades to the premises and perhaps the staff need to be maintaining their own weight...too. But all said and done, you have to be doing this for your own weight loss and health, it's a great strategy to get going, just having the skills after JC to keep the weight off is the key to success. I'm still getting there.
I have been a customer of Jenny Craig for over twenty years . I keep returning because it works well for me and my complicated lifestyle. Last year I was using the Jenny Craig meals to maintain and was enjoying the butter chicken so much my husband joined me. THEN they changed the chicken from chunks of real chicken, to these dreadful tasteless thin slices of processed chicken which has replaced almost every chicken item. I am told the chicken product is now produced in Australia ,I am in NZ ,if Australian members like it they can have it but ...I do not want to pay for cheap processed chicken when I know I have had a lot better. Remember I am a veteran and hell hath no fury like a woman who is cheated on a weight loss programme. I have not found the right place to complain in NZ yet but maybe I try social media to see who else hates this stuff as much as I and I already know a few.
Jenny Craig works people
I only used Jenny Craig for a few weeks and it definitely works if you follow it strictly. I thought the food was reasonably tasty, but you're required to buy your own fruit and veg in addition to the meals provided. This ends up being quite costly.... about $200/wk for one person. I've always had a healthy preference for food so although I found the pies and pizzas that Jenny Craig provides quite tasty, I don't want to get in the habit of eating those sorts of foods regularly. I think people who crave unhealthy foods would enjoy Jenny Cr...aig because the meals are healthier, low calorie equivalents of unhealthy food preferences. They're not all unhealthy - they're just not very fresh until you add your own fruits and veg. You get a consultant to help keep you on track which would be beneficial for many people. It works, but I feel that they could improve their menu with fresher, healthier ingredients. Food - 3/5 Convenience - 4/5 Effective? - 5/5 Guidance - It's great to have someone to check in with. You don't want to turn up to your appointment heavier or the same as the week before. 5/5
I have found the program great. Easy to stay organised with the menu. I don't have to think at all. My weekly phone calls and weigh in has been fantastic. The team at Belconnen in the ACT has been supportive and very encouraging. My goal weight is in sight.
I've been following for 4 weeks and apart from the portion sizes (yes they are small but it is a diet) I have not felt like I was dieting at all. I'm eating all the foods I would normally ban every time I start a diet and then end up craving them so much I cave. Now I'm eating lasagne and burgers and chocolate cheesecake. I feel good. The food is ok, obviously not restaurant or home made quality but it hits the spot and stops me feeling deprived or resentful (which is my usual downfall). Yes it is quite expensive which is why I haven't given it...5 stars but I am losing weight steadily (0.5kg a week). I have also found my consultant to be very flexible and understanding (I am a fussy eater which hasn't helped with my diet woes) and I can swap out meals I don't like and allow for occasional meals off plan when required. Those that criticize the diet say they can do it themselves for cheaper - I say to them great for you, you obviously don't need this diet then - but for those of you like me who have lost the ability to make good choices, who find they can't control their own portion sizes, who cannot bear to count another calorie or point and who crave carbs but don't know when to stop - well this diet takes that in control for you. I'll see how I go and I may be back in 6 months time to edit the rating.
good and bad
i have been on and off JC and love it. i went to the ladies in Cairns and they are the absolute best with support, guidance, friendship, caring and not to mention their wonderful cheeky friendly banter!
blah blah blah..............i could go on and on praising them!
they all helped me reach my goal of 25 kg loss and feel so bloody fantastic! JC works.............
i relocated interstate to ACT and the center that i attended was terrible, in desperate need of a face lift and the attitude of the staff was so disappointing, i could not bring ...myself to return. i complained to HQ. i tried the other centre in ACT, it was better but i had lost my enthusiasm to continue with JC. bottom line, JC works but try to get great consultants like CAIRNS!
Won't help when in financial problem
My son was in hospital for 2 years it was very hard. I put on weight. Now I have been with JG for 4 months I have lost 6 kg. But for the past 5 weeks I have been sick. My cat was sick. I can't buy all the 7 days. But I was going to buy during the week but I am told they can't help me I have to buy the 7 days. That's very inconsiderate and harsh. I keep changing appointment
Hi fallen angel I have just started back on this plan in Sydney. Maybe try again or speak to a head office perhaps who you spoke to just doesn't know what to do.

I want to know if my lifetime membership is still honored. How should I proceed?
Sharon Fry Pasic email@example.com
Hi Sharon, we have replied to you via email - please let us know if you need anything else!
Just contacted your customer service to verify my Lifetime membership I bought for myself and my mother in 2004. He stated, JC stopped selling lifetime memberships in 2002, therefore I could not be a lifetime member. Also stated the computers have since been updated and not everything has been updated and that his “Supervisor” was going by the year I purchased the Lifetime membership, not what was noted, as nothing was noted on my profile. Please explain?
We would be happy to look into this again for you to double-check your membership verification. Please feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name, the centre that you joined the program with, and the approximate year, as well as the centre that you last attended with the approximate year. Thank you
