Unfair cancellation not even a phone call
Today i found out Jetstar MasterCard had cancel my credit card and my years as a good customer because they said I didn’t pId my bill. And I owe them a bit over $200 back in mid 2020.When COVID bit I paid my credit card in full and I think I was a few dollars in credit. I never worried about re checking my balances because I knew I paid it off and I Kew I wasn’t going to be travelling in the near future so I didn’t think much of it until I found the new credit card they send me last year in a bowl waiting to be activated.
I rang them to my... Read more
shock they told me that because I didn’t pay my bill they terminated My account. The real story here is that I paid my credit card in full and was as I remember in credit back in February 2020 but as COVID hit everything went mad. I had no need of credit card as I wasn’t travelling anymore but the bank regardless of my good credit rating forgot to informed me that they charged me an annual fee. I never received phone call or e en an email to the fact and today the person I spoke to said it wa my responsibility to check account online that statements get send there. Yes I understand that very well but the fact that my account was settled before COVID-19 hit i had no reason to suspect I own them anything. The fact that some people are struggling and there is messages on website advertising assistance to tose in need is disturbing as simple telephone. All or email could had avoided this. Poor customer service I call this..plus due to current hardships the bank should not be allowed to charge annual fees. I always been a good customer all these years and paid my bills on time and their attitude with my situation has left me very disappointed. I have never received any communication about why they were canceling my account, no telephone call no email ever sent.Frequent User
Do not recommend using the card overseas, because there is a transaction fee.Otherwise this card is perfect for anyone who uses Jetstar.
About every 6 months I get a $100 Voucher, and use it to go to Bali.
Used properly, and paid off monthly, this is a cost free card.
Other benefits include no booking fees, and an easy to use online account
I have recommended it to many friends. Show details
Good if you use it appropriately
The best thing about this card is if you spend $10000 you get a $100 Jetstar voucher. These rewards are better than many other cards as long as you want to travel. Annual fee isn't too bad. Though I pay it off each month they gave me a low limit and I accidently went over twice and they gave me a fee but then took it off. Third time they kept it. Can't complain. You can make it so you can't go over which is what I have done.Just make sure you keep within the limits and pay it off each month and it's fine. Show detailsPoints OK customer service v.poor
Card offered a competitive rate of points and a zero fee offer initially but Service via phone centre is slow and painful - dropped calls, pillar to post etc with diff teams. Normally 20mins plus on the phone. Card was cancelled when overseas due to overzealous security concerns about transactions. Stuck in countries where they don’t have a freephone number to resolve and only support for SMS security ID checks which isn’t helpful in remote locations. Recently closed account and it shuts access to online account, send you letters with the $ fig... Read moreure on what you owe but no itemised breakdown. This varied with transactions days before I closed it so you have to call to check chase and understand spend / refund etc. All in all a painful experience, better value and service elsewhereSuperb Card. Especially If You Use Jetstar
I have the basic Jetstar Mastercard, not the Platinum one in the photo to this article. They offered it to me after I joined Club Jetstar, with a bonus offer of 150 Jetstar dollars if I spent $1000 in the first two month.( I have already received that voucher and used it).The card earns one Jetstar cent per dollar spent using it on non-government transactions. That's now twice the rate typically being paid by most Australian credit cards with say $100 to $160 annual fees, which usually give half a Qantas Frequent Flyer point or half a Veloc... Read more
ity point per dollar . Though the Jetstar dollars can only be used on Jetstar, and not for all sorts of other purchases as with Qantas and Virgin points. Using the card on a Jetstar flight gets one 10% off food and drinks. And using it to book flights results in not being charged certain fees, which add up to quite a few dollars compared to using a regular credit card, and you earn Jetstar dollars on that booking transaction. I've used Jetstar flights on two overseas vacations and have just booked a third. Their Dreamliners are great, and I especially like using Jetstar because it has many direct flights out of Melbourne, where I don't have to pay more as well as then to sit in Sydney airport for hours, as with various other companies. Jetstar is indeed a budget carrier, but it is a good cut above using other budget carriers like Ryanair, which I have flown in Europe. So, as I intend continuing to use Jetstar into the future, then continuing to keep this card is a no-brainer. Their Mastercard website is a little confusing - containing lots of stuff I find irrelevant. But clicking on "Jetstar Mastercard" in the "Accounts and Statements" section brings up all transactions, including the pending ones. The biggest nuisance is that because it keeps recent pending transactions out of the Balance owed figure, I have to add them to the outstanding Balance to know how much I really owe (though, to be fair, others like American Express do the same thing). I have had occasion to ring up Jetstar Mastercard people on two occasions with queries, and I got through quickly, and my questions were answered promptly. Regards.Pay interest to access interest free? Really?
I have had the Jetstar card for many years and am happy to earn points and pay it off monthly. Last month bought Jetstar tickets and was pleasantly surprised to see from my statement it had been allocated 6 months interest-free on the flight charge - happy days. So paid off everything else. After one-month interest-free has disappeared. Seems the interest-free amount is the first thing that gets paid from your balance - so by actually paying the remainder of my account i was paying off the interest-free amount. To summarise - the only way to ... access the full 6 months interest-free is to not pay anything from your total account for 6 months - therefore accumulating interest on other purchases - how crap is that? A free special offer that I have to pay for - yippee....40k Qantas points, can't argue
Got the deal with 40,000 free Qantas points on sign up. Annual fee less than $100, cannot argue with this. Has already paid for itself. HappyNo Problems better than the big banks
I have had no issues with mine Best Qantas FF acccumulater I have found with 50000 bonus points to sign on. Had it for 6 months now.As has been said you need to pay it off on time wish is easily doen with Bpay from my bank.
I have found most people that write a review here have a gripe with the product and hence it skews the rating.
Collect the 100,000 Qantas points at no cost
Receiving 1 Qantas point for every dollar spent with a MasterCard is brilliant as long as you pay the full amount of statement each month by the due date. I collect 100,000 points in about 8 months and then do not use the card again until its anniversary date and points start accumulating.Usual MasterCard benefits
Will limit to 100,000 Qantas points
Jetstar Platinum CC, my everyday card
Added this card to my collection last January as a short term replacement for my Citi Platinum. Compared to Citibank, this card has been a breeze. Used as my everyday card & is paid off fully at month end. The application process was easy and the QFF bonus points for signup, and annual fee exemption, were excellent incentive. I don't need the free travel insurance but it could be useful for some people. The online banking facility is a bit clunky.QFF sign on bonus points, no annual fee, CC fee free transactions when booking with JQ.
Good
Over all the mastercard is a good card ,, no whiz bang stuff but if u fly jetstar you will appreciate the no fees when booking. Accepted everywhere looks good as well if your into that.Rush out and get that now asits a good card ,, macquarie bank who underight the card try to get u on to their cards after a while though.Interest rate is good, contact is always there when you need it , online is avaialble, No fees when booking a jetstar flight ,,overall a good card.
Dont accept a platinium upgrade as they put all of ur purchaser on the 20% rate as soon as you accept,, didnt like that.
