Avoid Jetstar at all cost!

I'm a frequent traveller and Jetstar is by far the worst airline I have ever flown with. Even if you offered me a free flight I will never fly with them again! Show details

Without fail, one way or another they'll make your flight experience unpleasant,leaving a bad taste in your mouth.
I booked and paid for allocated seats but was shunted further back in the plane.
Six of the Jetstar mafia ganged up on me as I was about to board. I had the boarding pass for my allocated seat but they switched it because they had already given my seat to someone else.
No integrity. No morals. No customer good will.

poor communication

my family (with a toddler) arrived at the airport 2 hours prior our flight. when we arrived in the check in desk, the staff couldnt check us in cos our flight was rescheduled 5 hours later. no email or message at all! very poor consideration! will never ride this airline again! Show details

Jetstar International to Bali in Business Class

I have flown Jetstar International to Bali a few times and so far on time, so maybe i am just lucky, but the planes used 787-800 are newish planes and business class actually feels like business class, they are comfortable, meals were great, service was great and the Plane not too noisy. Compared to Virgin 737-800 this is luxury. so, for about the same price Jetstar wins for me. Flight was 5.5 hours, booking as a frequent flyer gave me some perks also, but would have got them with business class anyway. worth a try if you haven't flown them to Bali yet. Domestic however is not see my review on that also. Show details

Home over easter

Get to Sydney, only to find my flights syd to qtn was wiped from a jetstar staff member in Melbourne.. (But that staff member did fix my first mistake and get me to Sydney).

So here I am in Sydney,no flight to qtn, and panicking.
My seat had been sold to someone else.
Eventuallyi had a new seat on the same flight... so my extremely long legs were stuck in a small spot.

On the flight , I mentioned to the flight attendant that I had a better seat, and that was extremely uncomfortable.

I was moved into a row that was empty, sat side ways due to the leg room.

Really enjoyed the flight, and appreciated the assistance that the 3 jetstar staff had given me through the day!!!

Very disappointed..... again

My son bought me return flights from Sunshine Coast to Melbourne as a birthday present and sent them to me. The flights were for over a month away. I noticed the dates weren't ok so got onto Jetstar immediately to change the dates. The new flights were 10 days away so hardly short notice. For this change I was charged $70 for each flight, purely to change my flights. This along with the fare change took me to over $300. My chat with the online chat was met with a copy of their fine print. This, along with their "carry on baggage police" weighing baggage before boarding has convinced me to give them the boot. Disgusting

I bought a ticket from aus to nz 3 weeks before

They gave me a different seat away from my family of 4.... then I was seated next to a huge person who’s arm took up 25cm past the arm rest on my side ....

Not to mention late departure, after 3 busses took everyone to a plane. Huge f around

Great experience

I recently flew to Launceston from Melbourne and needed assistance on the flight. Jetstar were amazing as far as giving me assistance to get to the gate and onto the plane both going and returning to Launceston. Staff were so helpful. My flight was enjoyable. Thank you Jetstar! Show details

The Orange gamble

If it was possible to give this airline a zero star, I wouldn’t hesitate. The thought of providing them even one makes me uneasy. DO NOT GIVE THIS AIRLINE YOUR MONEY, don’t be sucked in by the cheap flight. Do yourself a favour and pay the additional $200 to fly with a legitimate airline that will leave on time, save hours if not days of your life and is less likely to fall out of the sky. People that continue to fund this comedy are the reason they still exist to rip people off & breach consumer rights. Show details

The worst Airline

Jetstar do not even deserve the one star rating. I had an absolutely horrendous experience. I waited in line for an hour to check in my bag, there was a huge line and only 2 employees at the counters. I consequently missed my flight and had to wait 4 hours and pay extra only for the next flight to be delayed by 2 hours. I lost a whole day sitting in an airport rather than enjoying the very short 3 day trip that I’d booked. I will never again fly Jetstar Show details

Excellent

I flew on flight JQ134 Auckland to Gold Coast Tue 19th March.I was late for flight (not my fault).Simon who was in charge of cabin was so gracious and helpful.Also very helpful to young family with two toddlers who are usually ignored. He checked with elderly couple several times to make sure they were alright. Service like this is hard to find.Thank you Simon.Jetstar are lucky to have you. Show details

Frustrated elderly gentleman

Flight JQ485, Friday 22 March 2024, Edward Hockless 96 year old male, booked for Wheelchair both ends, arrived Tullamarine approximately 5:55 Pm
, in wheelchair to gate 41 was sat in chair & told wait there under sign saying Wheelchair Waiting Area, was left there for 45 no sign of anyone, was getting very cold, managed to get the attention of a Jetstar employee who put me in a wheelchair and headed for the carousel where my family were getting very worried. My family we told by Jetstar employees to wait for me at the carousel.
Treating an Aged person like this is not good enough, so much for customer service,

Never Again

Possiblly the worse plain I have ever been on. The plain itself was outdated and old. Staff were in general rude and not friendly, felt like none of them wanted to be there.

Flight service team were more like sales people rather than service providers.

Even asking for a simple glass of water was a struggle.

I asked for some water and the attitude I got back was horrible, it felt as if I was bothering them.

Horrivble service

flight was cancelled 1year ago, had flexible fare would not refund eventually provided voucher, cancelled flight again then would not refund again despite waiting hrs on the phone and cancellation occuring one hour before next flight, eventually offered voucher same experience with domestic. Low quality and overpriced was able to get a cheaper flight with better quality elsewhere. Show details

Fabulous

First time on Jetstar. Was warned about how terrible it was. We did not find this at all. We paid for extra luggage and food. The food was better than fine but the best part was our cabin manager Andrew Rattle and his co attendant Cara. He was so friendly,entertaining and they couldn't do enough for the passengers. He is an absolute gem and Jetstar are very lucky to have staff of this calibre. Show details

I have just tried to book flights for 2 adults from Adelaide to Phuket return. It's like someone has set out to make their website and online booking system as difficult and confusing as possible. I booked the same trip with an Asian airline, done and dusted in under 10 minutes. Oh, at a better price than this pack of useless...

Checked bags

They charge an absolute ridiculous price for an extra suitcase. Would never fly with them again. When you are overseas travelers wear layers of clothes rather then checking a 2nd bag. Ps. Also bring a pen otherwise it's $5 for a pen. Show details

Avoid Jetstar

Flew on the A321 Neo BNE to Denpasar for 6 days holiday. Last time ever we will fly Jetstar! Nearly a six hour flight, crammed in. Paid for the exit row 29, oops...no window. 3 toilets for 232 passengers. What has happened to International Flying? Horrible experience! Freezing cold in row 29 but flight attendant laughed off my request to warm the cabin a bit... asked if I would like to buy a blanket for $15 AUD. Bought a hoodie for the return trip in row 9...guess what, it was hot up the front, so cabin zone temps are not good in the Neo. This route should be serviced by no less than the 787 0r A330. The Neo is very unpleasant. Never again! Show details

Excess Baggage Fee

I paid $234 to a flight to Melbourne from Sydney and I was allowed 7kg carryon. I had my handbag and Sydney airport never charged me for excess but while coming back Melbourne airport included my handbag/laptop and charged me $75 excess. I am disappointed and angry after paying so much for a flight and while travelling back with same amount of baggage they charged me $75 excess by weighing my handbag/laptop bag. Jetstar is horrible airlines to fly. after paying $75 the flight was delayed due to engine issues. Don’t ever book Jetstar for ur next trip, useless airlines. Show details

Terrible customer service-Disgusting Jetstar. Changed the time of our return flight from Gold Coast to Sydney earlier than the booking time, which is not possible to make with small kids and can't finish the purpose of going Gold Coast. The rudest airline you will ever fly

It’s absolutely astonishing this airline is allowed to operate in its current form. The staff are incredibly rude constantly and behave as if the world owes them something. It’s not our fault your skills don’t match up to the minimum standards of a real airline and thus you are stuck in the depths of Jetstar, so please don’t take it out on us. The one positive this absolutely horrendous airline demonstrates is that almost anyone can run a successful business.
