The answer to long lasting toner for medium to dark ash blonde - banish copper tones
Freshly coloured ash blonde in medium to dark looks great until the tone fades and you get unwanted orange/copper tones. Light blondes are catered to, there are plenty of violet toners on the market that stop yellow brassy tones but they don't work on darker ash blondes. You can't keep re-applying permanent colour because the ammonia & peroxide exposure makes the problem worse and the red/copper will be intensified. If you've tried Scott Cornwall's Ash Colour Restore you'll be disappointed because it is basically just a tinted conditioner...and has little effect, and is poor value for money. This Joico product is the only product you can get outside of a salon that fixes the toning problem. It contains no ammonia so will not damage your hair. It is easy to use and smells pleasant. Using a tinting brush, put it straight on to dry hair, leave for 20 mins, I left it for 30 mins because I have very thick hair. If your hair is very porous, do a test strip first. It works, cools down the copper colour and no risk of greenish tone, it's a dark grey so has the right mix of pigments to put ash tone back into medium to dark blonde hair. Hard to find, I got mine online. Salons don't want you to know about this great product - it's professional quality. I found out about it via a youtube product review.
