Not the best in-store experience
Last wk my mum and I bought a few things each in the triple figure $ range. The man that served us was nice and knocked a bit of each of the items without us asking. However, on Sunday we went back to the store for another expensive item. Only a couple of customers in store but not a staff member in sight.
I knew what I was after but wanted some information about it and a good deal. I walked round the entire store and not one person came to my assistance. Actually I couldn't see anyone. The counter was also unattended. Eventually the only per...son I did find near the tech dept was at a desk on the phone. I did another lap around the store, eventually finding what I was after but no staff still. Took it to the counter where a poor lady had been waiting to be served since I came in. I stood behind her and waited for a while. Eventually someone came to the counter. When I was served I asked if they could do a better price. He straight out said "No, that'll be $XXX". I stated that I know a few people who have walked into store and had $10 knocked off this product. He didn't want to know about it. I guess it depends who you get, and where you shop. Obviously this experience left me a bit disappointed. I didn't bother to ask for information about the product. The staff member seemed in a hurry to get back out the back. As it was a xmas present and no alternative store to purchase from I paid for it and left. I know it was a Sunday and it is the end of the year but if you are going to work in retail you need a team of enthusiastic staff and helpful ones. That was not present on my latest trip.
Missing items in order, no refund provided as yet
The website is easy to navigate and you can quickly find what you need to buy. Pricing is not very competitive, but I was told that you go to Joyce Mayne for their customer service. Unfortunately, I have had a horrible experience in my only purchase with them, and despite followups, I don't see my issue being resolved. I received my online order with 1 item missing. After raising a ticket (which was easy and fast), I was redirected to the fulfilling store. A representative from the store called me and told me that the item I had ordered was not...in stock, hence they did not ship it. I let slide the fact that they should have at least communicated this proactively to me, and asked for a refund. The rep seemed unsure on how to process that, but committed that it would be done. Two weeks and a few more follow-ups later, I'm still without my money. It is very clear to me that the online and offline divisions of Joyce Mayne do not coordinate well with each other, and that's the reason I wouldn't be too keen on shopping with them.
Purchase of HP Printer
I went to Joyce Mayne Toowoomba to purchase a HP Printer,I had purchased from this store before and the service was good, however this time the salesman must have got out of bed the wrong way. He was most upset that I did not accept the extended warranty for extra cost and when I said my last printer lasted 8 years he said this one won't. I worked in retail for many years and I know some customers can be difficult but in this case I knew what I wanted and was just happy to pay the price and be on my way . Maybe this person needs some help with customer service.
