Pleasantly Surprised
Our first experience started with a Skamper Kamper Dingo but we soon decided after a number of trips that camper trailers are not for us especially poorly designed and built campers like the dingo. Read moremportantly had good reliability in our price range to match. Being someone who has spent 35 years in the electrical and mechanical engineering didn't help. This led me back to Jurgen's caravans and by chance we found the van we were looking for and it was the Lunagazer J2403. The dealer at Mount Gambier was first class and spent nearly 3 hours handing over the caravan to us which included their technician driving our car with the van attached for a test drive. Now after 4 months, 4043kms, 27 nights and even with some dirt road action the Lunagazer J2403 has performed faultlessly. I'm impressed with the engineering and thoughtful layout of the Lungazer and find that it excellent value for money. My only gripe would be the tyres. I would have preferred a known brand like Bridgestone than the Chinese tyres on the van at the moment. My South African friend couldn't wait to go away with us! BTW he has also had a faultless run with his van. Would I recommend Jurgen's? You better believe it! 3 year update. Despite the turmoil Jurgens has been going through our caravan has been over all good. The only warranty claims we have ever made have been the door handles breaking. There have been some easy fixes, one however was a little more involved and that was the battery charger and electrical wiring. I went on to upgrade the wiring, adding an Anderson plug for the fridge and battery charger to function correctly. 27000kms in 3 years and all in all the caravan has been good. Finally, a word of advice. I would treat with a measure of suspicion some of the reviews posted here and on social media from people with about 20 issues with their vans. There are people who buy caravans and use them unwisely and then go on to complain like hell because they weren't treated like the prince of Wales when things went wrong. Caravans do have issues that's life but how you treat your van is another issue all together.Purchased in March 2018.

Hi I have just purchased a Jergen lunagazer j2401 and I have a 2007 Toyota Hilux 4X4, 4ltr petrol Twin cab max tow weght is 2250kgs is it legat to tow the van with my current vehicle.Regards Frank

Hi Frank
All good. The J 2401 has a max loading of 2100 (some 2000kgs) Their tare is about 1700 kgs give or take. The detail for all loadings is found on a plate just to the right and above the gas bottles in the front boot. We have a J2401 also. Purchased it new in 09 and use a 6 cyl Holden Crewman as the tow vehicle. The crewman has a 2100 kg limit and has handled the van without any problems for the 50000 klms we have travelled with it. You should have no problems with the Hilux. Fully loaded the van generally weighs in at about 2000 kgs. I have put ours over a weigh bridge twice and that seems to be about the figure. So - you should have no issues. Cheers David

Is there anything I should be looking for when purchasing a 2009 Lunagazer which looks by the photos in very good condition , will be having a look at van next week and would appreciate any pointers.
From what I have reed most have been real happy with their Jurgens.
