Very disappointed. Purchased the camcorder for a 2 week cruise to NZ. Used the camera for mostly still pics. Quality was poor, worse when blown up on screen. Camera phone can take better pics. Videos aren't any better.
Size, easy to use, rechargable battery
Picture quality varied from blurry to great. Had to delete over half the pics.
The software is a nightmare, it is torture. Everything about it. A real pain in the behind. I normally pick up software very quickly but this one rates right up there among the duds. But the camera itself is great. Very lightweight, easy to use, flip out screen and laser touch good. Watching on 42" plasma and the picture is great. Hard to find a balance though on what quality to record at, too high and DVD storage space becomes an issue, too low and movie quality is poor. I'm still trying to work this one out. Overall very happy. Wind noise can...be an issue, even with wind cut turned on it still picks up wind sounds that you dont actually notice when recording! Overall I recommend, just need to find myself some decent software. Pick up a bonus pack which includes a great bag and spare battery, I got mine included. Lightweight, looks good, great recorded picture, widescreen Software will send you INSAINE, wind noise
I bought this to record my Husbands band at gigs and it did a great job even in dim light and sound was good too (not tinny) For the price I think its excellent....I love it!!!
Not too big or heavy. Good Price
Instructions could be better
I bought the camera for family memories. I did my research on the net and this seemed to be in the top line up. It is claimed to give SD quality but I can see all the lines in the picture, particularly in full screen, and people moving reduce the picture quality further. The picture looks okay at half screen or Youtube size, but full screen is very poor. I suspect it is the compression format used. Even on the best quality compression setting, the quality is poor. My old analogue camera gives better picture quality. When my wife saw the vi...deo quality she said "It looks worse than our old camera" - an 8mm digital!! I'll never buy JVC again. Cheap price, easy to operate, dual sd slots. Picture quality is poor, moving subjects blur. Non-standard file format. Software.
