An Accident Waiting to Happen
I bought this online as a new unwanted item by it's original owner for $60. I have kept it for about a year before I decided to install it and replace my factory unit. Absolute mistake!!!!..First thing was how disappointing I was it was not steering wheel capable as it says it was on the box. Secondly how temperamental it is playing MP3 from a CD or USB. Even if there happens to be a small scratch on the CD it will stop playing and there will be no option to forward to the next song. It will hang and then lose it's place on the CD and you will...have to reject the CD and start again. ANNOYING especially if you were about 50 songs into the CD. Secondly is how long it actually takes to load an actual MP3 cd if in fact it even does load it at all. I have seen it take up to 70 seconds just to load a cd. The USB function worked once and it also took well over 2 minutes to load that. And then after that would not play a USB anymore. The failure to play CDs and it's habit of hanging during play is NOTthe sort of thing you want to be keeping an eye on while cruising down the road. This is SO SO Frustrating!!!!.. Then, This unit gets confused with bluetooth. At times you will select the Radio or other function when the CD FAILS and, you will see that it is playing on it's display but yet no sound will come out. You will need to off the bluetooth on your phone and cut the accessories power in your car to get it to play anything again. In other words pull over and stop your car. Imagine the pure frustration of that!!!!.. To change the Bass or Treble you have to go through about 5 separate functions, 2 buttons and the volume knob just to get to where it is. Then you will need to backspace those 5 steps to get the normal display again. Imagine that while shuffling in heavy traffic!!!!..This thing could easily get you so distracted that you could have an accident and quite frankly is the most annoying set I have ever installed in any car that I have ever owned. Lowering the volume quickly is a pain as well with the slippery hard to grip volume knob it has. This thing has cause me nothing but frustration, pain and unhappiness from the moment I installed it and just for the want of having the pleasure of listening to my favorite music while taking my wife to and from work. I removed a fully functional original radio CD for this pile of garbage thinking it would be a nice upgrade to what I had and able to play MP3s. What a huge mistake!!!!!!.. I would NOT even install this ting in a billy cart had I have know what sort of a FAIL product this was. No wonder the original owner didn't want it. I will bin this thing very soon and I will not resell it as I would not want to pass this frustrating pile of garbage onto anyone and possibly cause them to have an accident out of frustration like it has caused me. I would NEVER EVER buy or recommend this product or anything like it to anyone!!!!!!
