Nice heater...and am suspecting pretty economical
So...I am touching this thing when it is on only 1400 watts and feels SO hot...that is pretty darn good for 1400 when other heaters I have had felt only lukewarm at this power level....this is why I am saying that it is probably very economical to run...good job Kambrook
Now I have a warm & toasty room
Very happy with this column heater. It warms the small room I have it in quickly on a low setting. The timer works well and has been reliable - I set it to come on each morning. The thermostat works well. It's easy to use - though the very small timer notches may be tricky for some with large fingers. I've had it for a while now, no issues at all.
Effective, reliable, has timer and thermostat
Good for Small/Small-Medium Rooms
I bought the Black 5 Fin.
I have a room that is 5 paces (for an average height female) by 4 paces. I consider my room medium size with about the standard ceiling height (perhaps a smidge taller).
I found that it takes forever to heat up the room, but once it has been on for a while (2hrs +) the room has a good ambient warmth to it (but I would still need to wear a jumper to feel cosy). The heater itself is good as it doesn't get dangerously hot. If I touch it I don get burnt (and that was after havig it on medium-Max for 2 days straight).... Obviously holding your hand on it for several seconds does. It has a handle that you can use to drag it with. If I were to rewind time and buy a heater for my room, I think I would go with a bigger one (~double the price or 5 fin). I didn't at the time because I am a (typical) student and considered my room to be medium size. Pretty sturdy, warms rooms (small-SmallMedium size), energy efficient and not too pricey. Doesn't heat medium spaces.

Know where to use it
Its just been a week since I purchased the 5 fin heater. It does take some time to heat up but works well for medium or small spaces. Its good to for preheating a bedroom and I don't mind leaving it ON overnight at a 400w or 600w setting. For my large living space it only raised a couple of degrees in an hour of operation (on a 600w setting). Might have to buy an additional unit or a radiation heater for more immediate relief on chilly nights.
Looks good, energy efficient, inexpensive
less effective in large spaces
Economical to buy column heater
I bought this heater to heat a medium sized childrens' room. It does a good job. It's fairly lightweight compared to older style oil heaters and consequently does not have as much thermal mass. It is therefore fairly quick to heat up but also loses heat quickly, so I find you have to run the thermostat hotter to maintain the same room temperature as our 20+ year old Dimplex. However, given that 2400w is 2400w no matter how much oil is in the heater it costs the same.
The timer works ok and is quiet. The heater is silent, with no creakin...g noises when heating up or cooling down. The only problem I have is that the switch to turn between manual operation and timer operation is a very small and hard to operate. The heater fins get a little hot when operating, but we've had no issues with children touching. It's fairly cheap compared to some of the more prominent 2400w name brand heaters, but from our perspective works equally as well with good quality look and feel. Inexpensive to purchase, looks ok, gimmick free. Fiddly timer switch
Great product for babies room
I purchased this to take the winter chill out of my babies room. The heater doesn't get very hot, which wouldn't suit a large room and at first I didn't think it was appropriate for the room I had it in, but now I think its great as it doesn't heat the room too much but just take the chill out and makes it comfortable, which is what I wanted. And I also think its safer for a childs room as the heater itself isnt too hot too touch.
Great for childrens rooms
Questions & Answers
Does this heater have a fan, doesnt seem to be heating a quite small room
No this one does not have a fan it just heats up and as long as you leave it on from early it keep the small room heated. I also put the two switches on at first then when I find it has started to heat the room I normally turn one of them off.
