Underhand marketing fear to potential parents
I have received 2 different emails today and this evening from this company, marketing a paid for test, which is available for free from your GP, under the guise that GPs recommend this paid for test. They do not - they recommend the free version that a GP can arrange for you. I am appalled at this blatant fearmongering by this company and misrepresentation of General Practioner advice. It points to extremely shonky practises and I would never trust such a company. Buyer beware - you cannot trust what this organisation says obviously!

Outdated BMI system is rubbish.
I was hoping to use this service as an easier alternative than going to the doctor.
I said my weight and approximate height and was told no due to my BMI being so high. Absolutely disgusting. So much for inclusivity and making me feel like crap.

Maybe it's okay if you're a "perfect weight"
Thought it'd be a good idea; however, was told my BMI was too high to be prescribed the pill I've used my entire life. I'd recently had a baby a s been through two rounds of IVF, so decided to go back on contraception, but they did not factor this in and was just told it was 'not for me', despite me using it... my whole life. Was told to use the Implanon which wreaked havoc on my body a few years before becoming pregnant. It's 2022. Stop using weight as a reason for why women cannot be prescribed certain things and for why they are sick, etc. It's not good enough. I'm tired of this. Do better and steer clear if you're even slightly over what they deem a healthy BMI.

Very angry
I have been using Kin for several years - almost when it first started.
I worked with my personal doctor for several years finding the right pill for me. And until now I have been happy that Kin has been delivering this pill.
All of a sudden a Kin doctor said I had to use a different pill, no questions about side effects or if I have tried others. I said I had tried others and they didn’t work for me and I would prefer to continue using the pill my personal doctor - who knows my entire health history and me personally - has prescribed. My a...

I live rural and the nearest dr or pharmacy is over and hour and a half from me, I’ve been using Kin for over a year and it was great but now suddenly I can’t get my pill repeat without having to drive the 3 hour round trip all for a blood pressure test when I already said my last blood pressure results have been normal. Really doesn’t help people living rural at all, I’m going to be out of pills soon and no way to get them.

Great at First then awful
This service was great when I first started my first order was quick and easy and before I get into things the doctor I had was amazing can't fault her service.
However when my second order came around I was charged (19/10) then a few days later emailed to say their would be a delay due to the business switching pharmacies (22/10) then today emailed my prescription "left the pharmacy" (27/10) to which 2 hours later I received a text saying actually it wasn't sent but ON HOLD now because I needed to contact the pharmacy to "confirm some details...
Read more" before sending. I called the number provided more than 15 TIMES throughout the day (can easily provide call logs) and not once was it picked up it was left to ring till time out and then the phone was turned off all together! The number provided did not show in any online search and I could not find any other contact anywhere this was extremely unprofessional. I contacted Kin to find out what was going on and all they said was "we have let them know they will call you in a few days" this is unacceptable to me as now this could be at any time when I work full time and will mean further delays! They also said they wanted to confirm medical history which i always find very dodgy as I gave all my medical history and information to the doctor provided on starting and this has never changed I do not understand why a pharmacy wants access to confidential information for something that has had no changes. Overall at first I was happy with the service but this second order has been nothing but upsetting and stressful I will run out of the pill now before it even arrives due to this and am $55+$25 out of pocket for a service I haven't even received because I've been blocked by this "pharmacy" and told just to wait for them which I highly doubt they will ever call. I was also told after 3 months was up id have a follow up with the doctor initiated by kin for a check in as the doctor told me and this never happened unfortunately- Value for Money

Hey Amber,
Thanks for your honest feedback and we're extremely sorry for this delay. This is definitely not the standard of care that we pride ourselves on....
Read more In general, our pharmacists and all pharmacists in Australia do a double check on the medical history of patients. This acts as a final safety check before providing medication. Huge price rise
Sadly after using this company since they started and I'll have to start going back to the doctor instead. Prices have become unrealistic.
They tried to say that they upped the price because they use to ship 2 boxes at a time, now they have to cut down to only one at a time, shipping more frequently... But they have always sent me just one box at a time.
The price almost doubled. It use to be slightly more expensive than going to the doctor/chemist which was ok due to convince now it's a lot more expensive!

Couldn’t get my prescription
My current doctor had been prescribing me the pill for years without issue. Being regional I thought I’d give this online service a go as opposed to trying to get into my usual doctor. I was honest in my answers for the questionnaire. Maybe I should have lied? My doctor had no issue prescribing me the pill but this lot did. Waste of time.

Disappointing
Rejected from taking a pill I've been using for 7 years without issue due to my BMI (an unfortunately outdated form of determining health). Not ability to talk further with the doctor about my case.
I was hoping Kin would provide me with convenience, but instead it's left me very disappointed.

Look, I’m sure it’s great for some people. But if you have headaches (even if you have had medical advice/investigation that it is nothing to do with your pill), don’t even waste your time. They won’t give you anything - except maybe the mini pill. It’s disappointing that they won’t take into consideration the fact that investigation has happened. Forcing a pill that I don’t want
I started off having a positive experience with Kin, until I was told that the pill I have always taken and been prescribed by every other doctor was “not suitable” for me and they would only prescribe the mini pill. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and agreed, although I wish I had heard reviews both in person and online first.

I have now been told that they are not going to prescribe me my normal pill as they still recommend the mini pill. Would rather sit in doctor’s waiting room for an hour
Doctor wouldn’t prescribe the same contraceptive pill that I have been taking for fifteen years. I trialled another form of contraception for what was supposed to be three months. Ended up taking four months worth of medication and had no contact from the doctor to follow up how I went. New prescription was automatically sent out six weeks after trial had finished to my old address (I am now unable to collect package). The packaging is ridiculous for one pill box. I was not happy with this new form of contraception nor this service and would rather sit in the doctor’s waiting room for an hour waiting to see a doctor in person. I would not recommend this service.

More stress than it's worth

Never had a delivery come on time, and they only send you one box at a time - I'm always running out and dealing with side effects until my next box arrives.
And they send you marketing emails about their expensive pseudo-science 'sexual wellness' products and beg for positive reviews.
The ONLY reason I use their service is because I work too much to be able to get in to see a doctor for script renewals.
