Use it all the time! So easy
My mixer is red and is very convenient. It works well, kneads well and I use it for cakes all the time, had it for around a year now, hope it continues to serve us well
I use it everyday
I use this stand mixer every single day ! I cannot live without it. I use it for making dough, baking, making fresh butter, whipped cream and so on ! The only regret that I have is that to use the whisk attachment, I need to change the height of stand mixer using a screwdriver every single time. That is really painful. I tried contacting someone about it long back but got no response whatsoever . Apart from this, it is a fantastic product.
Purchased in May 2016.
Very glad I purchased this mixer
This is a great mixer. It is solid so it doesn’t move when mixing. However this also means that it is heavy and hard to move. Mine lives on my kitchen bench because it’s easier than moving it in and out of a cupboard each time I want to use it. The glass mixing bowl is beautiful and my mixer is the mother of pearl finish which is stunning. It’s quiet enough to use that it doesn’t wake my sleeping baby when on. Mixes throughly and easily cuts down baking/cooking time. All round a great mixer.
Purchased in September 2018 at House for $599.00.

Fantastic addition to the kitchen!
Saves me so much time for whipping up meringue, and cake batter etc. I gave it 4 stars because I find the mixer attachment by itself cannot "clean" the bowl well, so maybe will need to buy the Flex Edge Beater. I don't really use it for dough making because I find it is quite easy to over knead the doughs.
This mixer has made my life so much easier! I don't know how I ever lived without it. It makes baking so much quicker and easier and more enjoyable. This mixer is great quality and it doesn't have any faults. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is pationate about cooking!
After a false start seems like a good solid mixer
I did some reaseach on what mixer to get and narrowed it down to kenwwod and kitchenaid. I chose the kitchen aid ksm150 in cinnamon colour mixer because I new it would live on the bench so had to look asthetically pleasing to my wife (and match the kitchen as well). The main reason for replacing was the amount of cooking we do coming into Christmas and Easter it is all most commercial quantities and our old sunbeam of 11 years blew up. So decided to invest in a better quality mixer. I was leaning towards the kenwood for reviews and motor size ...were excellent. But chose to go with kitchen aid thinking there is more metal in it so would last longer and be more reliable. I used once to make a cake then stored it away for 3 months. then my wife used it to make shortbread and it started screeching and snd making a terrrible noise we had 10 batches of short bread to make and the mixer was broken. we had to revert to her mothers relaibe if not noisey breville mixer, which was terribly inconveinient and made the purchase doubt full. I had to contact kitchen aid and the customer service was excellent she had me at ease straight away and concerns and isuues were listen too nothing was a problem I even got a beater replaced that arrived in the original purchase faulty, This is very rear these days. Once the service agent replaced the gear box which sounds like a common fault, that was deduced as the problem before he turned it on. once replaced we have had no problem with the mixer and works to the standard I expected. does a great job big or small the scraper edge beater works well bought as an extra and the mixer beats and whisks to perfection. We made the best pavlova meringue we have made in the last 4 years of making them and I know thats due to the beater its self. Very pricey but you get the level of service you expect when frustrated and annoyed at the mixer letting you down at the critcal time. Repair time took a while but was worth the wait. The main thing is the wife thinks it looks good on the bench and matches our kithchen perfectly.
Not just a pretty mixer
Bought one of these after my Sunbeam finally packed it in. What can I say, stay away from the pretend red ones and stick with the original.
Built like a tank!
Yes, they're built like tanks, and almost as heavy (just kidding - but they are heavy). I love ours - so much, I won't make cakes that don't involve using a mixer. Bullet proof quality and they make short work of tons of mixing tasks. We have a Magimix sitting in the corner looking all dejected because we hardly use it any more. Do yourself a favour and get an extra mixing bowl, and the fantastic KitchenAid rubber spatula.
EDIT: I read some of the negative reviews below and want to make a couple of points. NO mixer has rotating parts ...that reach the bowl edge for obvious reasons. The KithenAid is no exception. Yes, when creaming butter and sugar together (or other sticky ingredients) I have had to run the spatula around the edge, but certainly not constantly. Once or occasionally twice, if its a cheesecake. As for these things breaking - that's really surprising given that many friends have one of these and they haven't had any quality issues either. Unbreakable build quality, great range of accessories and lovely colour range. A weeny bit heavy. Gunk gets caught under spring loaded guard where you plug in the mixing attachment.
I love this machine! It beats everything so quickly and easily, I only really use it for cakes and icing so only really use the whisk attachment but my husband is a chef and has used the other attachments and has been very happy
It is quite heavy but not as noisy as I would expect for such a big machine. I don't really like that it only comes with the one bowl and the 3 beater attachments, I would prefer the clear bowl/jug that comes with a different model and I think you can purchase this separately, same with the splatter guard that it is pi...
I have wanted a KitchenAid for many years and recieve on for my birthday last year. Its fantastic. I love that you can just mix/beat ingredients and not have to stand and hold a mixer. Creams butter/sugar very well. Beats egg whites very well. Certainly has improved my baking skills. And it look fabulous on my benchtop. Only downside is its price, and it doesn't clean the side of the bowl 100% so you still need to stop the machine and scrape the mixture on the edges to combine properly. And its VERY heavy to lift if you keep it in a cupboard and need to move it alot.
The look and its mixing capabilities.
A little pricey. Very heavy. Need to scrape down sides of bowl as it doesn't mix 100%.
No complaints about the actual mixer. Works so well and is so efficient! Just love the Candy Apple Red colour too.
Only complaint is that the slicing attachments are made of very poor quality metal and have a strong tendency to rust! ALso, it would be good if all the attachments were dishwasher proof, not a big ask given the pricing!
Quiet, efficient, gorgeous colour
Poor quality slicing attachments, can't put some attachments, eg whisking attachment, in dishwasher.
I love my kitchenaid mixer. It looks great, and I use it every two weeks to make whatever I can - even if it's something I should do by hand. However it is quite noisy, heavy to lift and was expensive. I waited till the sales before I purchased mine. I agree that the extra components are very expensive, so I will try to get by without them.
looks great in my kitchen
heavy, noisy, expensive
After years of lusting after the Kitchenaid and a disasterous experience with a Breville stand mixer I finally paid $649 for a Boysenberry Kitchenaid. It is very simple, nothing to work out. Just turn it on and off you go. The beaters / dough hook / whisk are very easy to attach (although you can get a bit messy!) and the plastic bowl guard is an excellent addition. All was well until I bought the pasta attachment and it wouldn't attach to the hub on the front of the mixer. However, Peter McInnes (the KA distributor) was outstanding and promp...tly exchanged the mixer. I bought through kitchenwarehousedirect.com.au which was also a big help with the return process. I was told not to run the mixer for more than 9 minutes straight and to be careful when kneading dough, I thought the machine would be sturdier than that. However, overall it is a great work horse which handles cake batters, doughs and whisking eggs like a professional. You hardly need to scrape the bowl, just make sure you adjust the beaters to the right height. No comparison to the cheap, leightweight stand mixers on the market. Looks good, solid, mimimal movement on the bench, easy to operate, wonderful customer service You do have to be careful not to burn the motor out, first machine didn't fit attachments
Dough, cakes and more... we love our Kitchen Aid
My husband uses the Kitchen Aid almost on a weekly basis to make pizza dough - it always turns out perfect. We both use it for making cakes and other general baking. It is very easy to clean and we have had no problems regarding faults, servicing etc as it has not broken down. Due to cost, we did not purchase any of the attachments (e.g. to make sausages, pasta) but we would love to buy them in the future. It is very large and cumbersome to lift in and out of the cupboard, but is too large for us to store on the bench top. As a result, I probab...ly would use a hand-held electric beater to quickly whisk eggs for an omelette or cream, rather than going to the effort of getting this out. We chose the white colour as it is neutral and will match our current kitchen and also the kitchen in our new home. Great at making dough, cake batter and whisking egg whites - beautiful to watch it working Very heavy and awkward to move in and out of storage cupboards - it would be best to have its own pride of place on the bench if you can put up with looking at appliances all the time
It can be difficult to find kitchenaid products at a reasonable price in Australia and Appliance Surplus meets that demand.
Appliance Surplus are a growing supplier of kitchenaid products and often have a high demand as they are one of the cheapest suppliers on the Australian market.
Questions & Answers
I have a KSM150 Artisan. Will a 4qt bowl fit this mixer? If so where I can I buy it?

Should the attachment shaft be spring loaded?
Our kitchen aid came without it .
I bought KSM 150 mixer from mighty ape a couple of week ago. Last weekend opened package and try to remove wire whip from beater shaft it was so tight and couldn’t come out easily. I notice that there was no spring on beater shaft. Is that normal or any defect?
