Absolute rubbish service, long refund times

I had a one time card, wasn't able to be used for my purchase so I cancelled. A week later still waiting for the refund. My bank has said nothing's been sent to them about a refund or cancel on the charge. Despite Klarna insisting it was done immediately.

Stole my money and never delivered

These guys are outright crooks. Don't use them they will just take your money and they don't care at all. Thet just fob you off as far as possible. Avoid them

Just use afterpay - not worth the negative impact on your credit score

Why would anyone opt to use this service when every time you do it adds an enquiry to your credit record. The app is horrible, it's barely used anywhere and the reviews here speak for themselves. Don't waste your time, go for ANY of the others like Afterpay who is probably as good as BNPL services go.

Very suspicious

Klarna did not allowed me to purchase "due to [my] credit history". I called up illion about the credit check they confirmed that my credit record was excellent. I then contacted Klarna and received a standard reply "We assess each individual purchase attempt on its own merits..."

I suspect Klarna is just using this trick to limit the number of consumers who could benefit from the deal and the purpose of the deal is to help them to obtain consumers' information. I am very concerned now that i have revealed all my personal information to them. Will definitely make a complaint to Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA).

Couldn’t live with out it

Dunno why the other comments are so bad. I have equifax credit monitoring and I have not had one single credit check yet. And done over 29 purchases. You guys are the best. Saved me when I I’ve been in a tough spot! Thankyou Klarna Show 2 replies

Horrible Experience

DO NOT USE THEM!!! Worst experience. Cancelled orders, error on payments and then charge you extra fees . Now reading other reviews find out that do credit checks every 60 days? Customer service is absolute joke. Cannot believe Commbank works with them.

It will do damage to your credit file

In Australia they do credit checks every 60 days which affects your credit score. Why Klarna needs to do credit checks so often is elementary. Zip and Afterpay are so much better. I was glad to close the Klarna account today. Good luck to the CBA and Klarna partnership.

Credit check

My experience with klarna is neutral, from downloading to signing up, the app working fine as expected to be. Customer support is not really helpful if there an issue like item got lost or returning they take a long time to process, usually 7-10 business days.

I would recommend this app to people who already got all the loans they need and don’t really care about ruin credit score. If you about to go for a mortgage or loan then stay away. Klarna do credit check for every purchase and this may impact on chances of getting a loan.

Worst service

Been using klarna since last year don’t know what happened but there so called customer service is even worse than before I was told by Amy support agent that a new card was coming called subscription but apparently it has something to do with Netflix and Spotify why in god name would support agents lie I sent through to customer service no reponse so from now on I will be using Afterpay

Ruins your credit score for nothing!

Hi all, Klarna uses credit checks without consent everytime you try to purchase. I have had $2k and $3k limits with services like AfterPay, ZipPay and Latitude but Klarna refused my $50 purchase twice. I had $5k in my bank account at the time. My credit score was excellent. Don’t try if you want want to keep a good credit score!

Never again

As per every other review they do extremely regular credit checks (why is this a big deal? because it looks as if you're applying for a ton of credit and they never used to broadcast they do this).

Additionally, they've just offered a promotion where you pay the first 3 payments and they let you skip the 4th one. This was offered from 7th july to 21st july, and 2 days into the promotion they've quietly removed the T&C page and cancelled the offer, thus leaving tons of people with a full order to pay.

Thank Goodness I have not used this!

I now understand completely after reading all the negative issues that Klarna clearly has with so many people. I wanted to use Bundll as my credit card and they DID NOT ACCEPT Bundll told me to use another card . I will stick with my long standing Favourites who are excellent to deal with including Humm, afterpay & Bundll.....

The WORST service

As everyone else has advised the credit checks that appear on your report are a joke, after them saying they don’t impact your credit score. And all Klarna team can do is say “please get in touch with our team and we will be happy to help”. Absolute load of rubbish. There are plenty of other amazing pay later services that don’t leave marks on your credit report. Stay away from KLARNA

Credit enquiries

I have numerous credit enquiries on my credit report for every purchase I have made using Klarna. This will negatively affect my credit score. I understand a credit enquiry when signing up but not for every purchase after. Especially when they state there is no credit enquiries . Will never use again!

use other similar products which won't show up in your credit report

website says it does not affect credit score (not sure if accurate) But I cancelled my klarna after realising it appears in credit report. I decided to use same service from different company which does not appear in my credit report.

Itasked me if I wanted to use a credit reporting body to get approved or use bank logins. I chose bank logins checking my credit file it was on there.

Dont be fool and stuck in their system

Hi, i have never ever used any sort of instalment payment and this time when i was buying Smeg from appliances online i got a notification that if i use Klarna i get 50$ reward. So i though its not a bad idea to use Klarna and get 50$ voucher! Short after my card was stolen and i had to cancel my card. And no wonder soon after i got charged from Klarna 15$ for the late fee!! I told them the situation and they said they can not wave the late payment fee!! Don’t get stuck in this rubbish system. It’s not worth ! Better to buy it from Davidjones or myer and get your points!!!

Stay the heck away! Using Klarna DOES affect your credit score & the app is fraudulent!! Trust me
ANY requests show up on your credit report & second, Daisy from customer service is as rude as they come! I tried to get a purchase removed from my file because it was fraudulent & they wanted to do yet ANOTHER credit check (what the heck?!).

Late payment

Been using it for a long time. But after today upon missing one payment I was charged a $58 dollar fee. Had called several times to move payment one day they never did and charged me that fee. They will force u to pay the fee

Great concept but execution falls flat

I like the idea of Klarna in providing single-use, pre-approved credit cards that can be used for your purchases. It is also the only BNPL I have seen to offer a good loyalty program. However I find that more often than not, the card will be exhausted by the merchant's $0 pre-authorisation charge, or Klarna will decline the transaction and give a message "Please use this card at [merchant]'s digital store", which I do not understand and I am not able to find any help articles regarding.

Good features

So far so good with Klarna. Like the fact that it offers one-time card so you can buy from many websites including overseas. The app, however, lacks self-editing (for personal details). Till now I don’t know how to change my email address. Also, no credit limit shown in the app. Show reply

The weakest of the crop

Awkward app and processes make purchases more convoluted and complicated than they need to be. No clear idea about limits or even availability of service - 'pay anywhere' then get refused a $50 purchase? Nah. And the customer service is currently limited to office hours. You can't leave a message or send an email or do anything, you have to wait for them to get in and hope it's not too busy.
All in all, this feels like a cheap knockoff of afterpay cross-bred with zip, and fails miserably in comparison with both.

Dodgy App

Just downloaded the app when I'm about to explore this Klarna app automatically been a member, I immediately requested the customer support to delete my account, they said they would. But haven't received the confirmation of my account has been deleted. I feel scary now because all of my information without me fill up has been filled up in their application. Please beware guys

Excellent staff and amazing customer service

Somebody signed up for an account without my knowledge and they fraudulently used my card to buy something so I immediately closed my account after realising what had happened. This morning I rang up the company to explain what had happened and they organise the refund back into my Klarna Account then this afternoon I called Klarna only to find out that Susan had organised the refund of $89 back onto my card. Show reply

Waste of time

I have used Zip and After pay many times in the past with no issues. I also have a good credit score, no troubles with any past payments.
Went to make an online purchase and Klarna was a payment option so I thought why not give it a try. Went through the whole set up process only to have a message come up saying payment request rejected. Don't bother with this one!

Terrible! I now have 3 credit file enquires from Klarna

I now have three credit file enquires on my account from Klarna. 1st is for $170, 2nd is for $50 and 3rd is for $35. Klarna is now effecting my credit score. Absolutely awful! I recommend Afterpay and now Zip pay! Zip pay does everything Klarna does but much better!

Disappointed

I opened a account today i have afterpay and zip very good apps.I decided to go with klarna was very disappointed i asked the support how do I know how much I can spend. They couldn't tell me every 90 days they do a credit check which affects your credit score .I bank with commonwealth bank so I decided to open an account. So I closed the account just as quick .No thanks.

Could be 5 star but,

I did small purchased online and payed it off, I thought I’m ready for a big purchase so I try to pay an iPhone for less than $1000 actually $785 it keep saying I have insufficient funds. What a waste of time setting up and using the klarna apps. By the way thank you for $20 bonus credit. Hopefully you can fix this soon for others because It will take time for me to consider using it again.

Simply, don't bother

ANY other service is better. Fact, they won't tell you what you can spend. Fact, they hit your credit report every 90 days if you haven't used it regularly, with a "semi-hard credit check, which doesn't affect your score, but is visible". Fact, 5 simple transactions, 4 failures or required intervention. Fact, can't pay capital city council rates, "due to regulatory and risk reasons, we do not allow purchases from this merchant." Fact, they take your money for first payment, even after declining the transaction, then refunds on their time. Can't post on their Australian Facebook forums either. Wonder why?

Terrible

Useless service, when you really need to create a ghost card you continually get declined even when you have been making your payments on time and your owing balance is low, let me down too many times and customer service were unable to help so just completed remaining payments and then closed my account

DO NOT USE - SCAMMY AND DODGY

Went to buy a gift card for Uber Eats - It told me i cant use Klarna for Gift Cards but STILL TOO MY MONEY - Cant contact them after 6pm So cant get my money back asap. Terribly laid out App - confusing and most importantly very dodgy. Better using Zip or Bundll.
