No refund of shipping costs for a product with a manufacturing defect! Refund made after complaint lodged with PayPal

My son, aged 13, purchased a multi-gym from Kmart via my wife at a cost of $199 + $30.26 for shipping, as it was a large and heavy item only only available via on-line purchase.
The item had a manufacturing defect and after contacting Kmart customer service we were advised to returned the defective item in person to our local Kmart store (Cockburn Gateways in Perth), even though it was large and heavy - collection was not offered.
Kmart subsequently refunded $199, but not the original $30.2...6 shipping cost even though the item was defective and Kmart has not responded to our emails about the shipping cost, which we consider should be refunded because the item had a manufacturing defect. Refund made after complaint lodged with PayPal.
Blocking refund requests
I've usually shopped in store and been aware of the low price for zero quality trade-off, however this is the first time I've noticed their sneaky blocking of returns.
Received a defective product so lodged a return request which they advise will be 2-3 days. Two weeks later - no response. I go again to their form and hidden in tiny writing is an implication that they will not accept refunds without photos, but not explicitly stated so they can hope that people just give up without a response. I attempted to upload photos of the issue but all...the file types I tried were not accepted! It says "refer to file type list" with no list anywhere on the page. A very sneaky way of refusing to accept any returns at all. Won't be shopping there again at all - a huge gamble if you get anything resembling the product at all.
Kmart delivery fail
It took 25 days to deliver an item I could have got from my local store if not for Covid. Items were left outside in plain sight when it was about to rain. Unboxed to find glass jars shattered, clothing without any packaging entangled in the glass. Contacted customer support who offered to only refund the glass jars even though clothing was covered in glass. I advise not to buy online from these guys.

online item damaged NO HELP FOR REPLACEMENT OR REFUND
I purchased 3 bicycles online and a few other items to the amount of around $600, when they were delivered i assembled all 3. I noticed when i took of the 74cm everest bikes out of the box it had a flat front tire. I thought it just needed air so i pumped it up but it turns out the tube was punctured for an unknown reason around the valve. I tried to contact kmart through their phone number, i was left on hold nearly an hour only to speak to someone who couldnt come up with a resolution. I contacted them through their sms service and provided p...hotos, yet every time a different person would respond and had no idea what was going on. I emailed their online service team 3x and still no response. I called again and finally spoke to a lady who said she would talk to her supervisor and call me back within 5 minutes. That was 4 days ago and i heard nothing. As i live in a locked down LGA i am not able to leave to take the bike back to kmart, which shouldnt have to anyway as the first person i spoke to told me they could arrange frieght to have the faulty bike picked up and replace it for me. This did not happen. So i purchased another tube from big w, wasted more money on an item that should be in good condition, only for it to puncture aswell which means the rim must be faulty. Someone through the SMS service told me my inquiry had been sent for a refund, this didnt happen either. Absolutely hopeless online team and supervisors, if there are any. Worst online shopping experience ever. Here i am nearly 4 weeks later after purchasing these bikes, with one sitting there with a busted tire as kmart has not offered to help/replace anything and left it up to me to do it myself. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE BUY FROM SOMEEWHERE ELSE, the off chance you end up with a dud youre screwed if youre in a covid locked down LGA.
This is the very last time I ever buy anything from Kmart online!
I have been waiting for my $200+ order from Kmart online since the 1st of August , I just waited almost 45 min on the phone only to be hung up on after speaking to him for literally one minute , and I was being really nice! He was an incredibly rude guy! Never again Kmart! Ever!
Disappointing product and inefficient refund service.
Ordered 2 garden chairs from Kmart online as not available in store. On arrival one had the wrong components in the box, so had to be returned and I ordered a replacement. Once I had both chairs I constructed them and found a tiny label stuck to each chair which said that they should not be exposed to either sunlight or moisture, which was disappointing as they were advertised as Coastal Outdoor Chairs. As a result I was unable to use them in the garden as planned, but reluctantly had to keep them undercover out of the sun and rain. Despite t...hat, they started to rust within a month and within two months were rusting badly. I returned them to my local store, was given a receipt which stated that a refund would take 5 business days to go into my bank account.. I have now waited more than 3 months for a refund and are still waiting, during which time I have phoned the online number several times, waiting just under an hour each time before the calls were answered. On every occasion they have asked for all of my personal details, bank account and order reference numbers, all of which are on their system and were given at the start. The last time I rang I was trying to explain the situation in a respectful manner to the staff member who impolitely spoke over me. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager but the person I spoke to ignored that request. I am a great supporter of Kmart stores and have never had an issue with them but would never purchase from Kmart online again, nor would I recommend them after this disappointing experience.
Bunch of liars
Called at least 8 times to give me my full refund for a pathetic service... the parcel never came on time... no tracking number... parcel lost...came after 20 days... damaged... and was promised to have full refund...now they just refunding 2 items...
Do never ever deal with these bunch of liars...
This is the most disgusting experience with Kmart online service
Kmart customer service is the most disgusting service I have ever had , They are not allowed me to leave negative feedback , but everyone know how disgusting you are ! They don’t have customer service at all , no one care about your needed , if you complain they got their ways to let you shut up . They took my money and cancel my order without giving my money back , called them , SMS them , their solution is a joke and scam , cuz it won’t be happened .
Missing items / faulty items
Ordered a number of items online, one item didn't turn up but was charged. Contacted help department 3 times now, no reply. Additional item was cheap and broke first use, submitted request to have it refunded as well. No reply, not looking hopeful. Company just takes your money, doesn't send item and doesn't reply.
Beyond dissapointing returns system - Kmart has failed us
On the 30th of July I was told my refund would take 5 days, it is now day 12. I brought two entertainment units that were to small, I returned them the same night. Friday night the 30th of July I returned them to sanctuary lakes kmart in point cook. The girl said she wasn't sure if it had gone through correctly and called the manager.

I have now called twice and also messaging back and forth twice. Each time I am told I will receive my refund in 5 days. I have still not received it since...
Horrible customer services!
I ordered 4 items, 2 items i like are out of stock, i wanted to cancel the order cuz I don’t want to pay the $10 shipping fee for other two little items which is not necessary. But They sent my order straight away without asking. It is not the complete order that I want ! they refused to solve the problem. Really disappointed!!
Ordered online as the product was only available online.
In 1 order they managed to send me containers with no lids, send me a faulty item AND fail to package a glass item correctly and it appearing at my door step shattered. No 'fragile' sticker to notify the courier it's a fragile item either.. and look how they package glass inside?? Wow. A 5L jar with absolutely nothing to protect it. Their customer service is terrible, messaged them at 4pm and they never assisted me. Also sent me a message at 6.01pm and then proceeded to send me an ' out of office ' message haha!! Classic. And then message again...at 6.30pm .. are you out of office or what? Clearly kmart have issues with their customer service and don't give a crap about their customers. I guess you get what you pay for though. Cheap products and cheap service. The photos are proof that they don't treat glassware correctly, I cut my hand from it too. Such a joke.
Cheaply made and poor quality
The kit comes with allen key and screws. It even had 2 extra screws which was nice. All you need is a screwdriver. However the screws for the latch don't go in all the way so the lid is useless. The front of the bamboo has a crack from one side to the other and someone has attempted to putty it together but only did half the crack? The white material was so cheap, the stitching came undone on one side. Finally, the boards are not made of bamboo - they are a flimsy cheap pieces of board printed to look like bamboo. So this box is only suitable for very light objects like stuffed toys. I was quite upset building this.
Lack of refund and slow shipping
I ordered a few small items and a rug. The small items were over $65 and would have been free delivery. The rug delivery was $36 as it's a big item, which is fair enough. The rug was apparently out of stock so got refunded but the shipping didn't. It's been over 3 weeks and still haven't received anything! So I paid $36 delivery for a few small items that I'm not sure I'm even going to receive. The only reason I ordered online was because the rug was not available in store.
Also to add, I'm not in a remote area!
A great shame for Kmart! Kmart does not look after the customers at all! I put an order on 26/ June 2021 and did not receive it on time . I called Kmart customer service, I was told the refund request would be issued and Kmart would contact the courier company “couriers please” not to deliver the parcel. Couple of days later I contacted kmart again and they said it is processing and I would receive it soon, on 9/July when I came from work I saw a notice from the “courier please “ that they tried to deliver the parcel since I was not at home I ...have to rearrange it! I was shocked. I truly doubt if Kmart has communicated with the worst courier “couriers please” or not , but I was still waiting for the refund. Today , I called Kmart and I was told that the refund had been cancelled since the courier is trying to deliver the parcel!. What are you doing Kmart?!?! The courier company (courier please” humiliates the customers by postponing the delivery and it is because of Kmart. They know Kmart does not pay any attention to the customers. It is a shame , after 2 times confirmation from Kmart that the refund is processing I have already bought something. Now, I was told to wait for the case to be escalated and they tell me why the refund has been cancelled. Nearly 20 days waiting and nothing. Kmart is not looking after the customers at all ! Kmart , please stop it and do your job properly.
