I would return it but I've left it too long
Like the last reviewer stated, this TV can only be viewed if directly in line with the screen both vertically and horizontally, making it completely useless for more than one person to watch. I'd return it but 1) I've left it too long (we were putting it in our caravan and didn't need it until Jamuary) 2) based on the last reviewer, I'm not sure that if get my money back anyway. I will think twice before buying from Kogan again if this is the quality to expect.
OK but poor picture quality
This is a very small & light weight TV. The picture quality is only visible if you are standing directly in front of the display & your eyes are at exactly the same level as the TV. The picture quality is so poor you can barely see the TV at any other angle. If you don't mind the poor picture quality, then this is a well priced handy little unit.
Kogan TV keep turning itself off
My husband bought this Kogan TV online, we used it for a few months then it started to switch itself off and then it goes back on and then off again. Sometime it turns back on but sometime it doe not. We contacted Kogan via email, they said they are aware and asked us to return it but it is very difficult to post it back to them. In case it gets damage via posting, we decided not to send it back and never buy the large items online again. Visiting a proper store is much more safe and with a piece of mind that return is very easy and hassle free.
Small tv with HD and very cheap
It only lasted a few months and started to go on and off by itself and it is difficult to return since it's online purchase.
Ok cheap TV, but sound is pitiful
I purchased this TV a few weeks ago. It arrived quickly and all was fine. But the sound is just terrible. It is like a transistor radio. The customer service was fine and they said I could return it, but I just couldn't be bothered and from reading their site, I would have to pay return postage. I bought a speaker at K-mart for $29 and the sound is now fine (although the speaker needs to be away from the TV because of interference in tuning the channels) So, maybe not such a bargain, but I needed a small telly. I agree the emails never stopped once I purchased! I just unsubscribed and marked as spam.
Cheap and small
Sound is really bad + out of control email marketing
after sales marketing virus
I bought a 16 inch led tv couple of months ago, a brilliant product and fast delivery. very happy until the marketing emails started, averaging 4 to 6 emails per day. they took over my emails like a virus and cannot stop them.
tired messaging kogan and ebay many times, had a reply from kogan agreeing to stop but they still come. have tried to unsubscribe on bottom of email but that dose not stop them either, its like a virus..
Good product. fast delivery but I would not risk buying from them again.
excellent product as described, two day delivery. very happy with product
marketing emails are like a virus and unwelcomed
My boys cannot survive without their tv's
First purchase was a 16" LCD with DVD for caravan - has never faltered. Next purchase a 47" LCD for our son who is a single dad with 4 children - gets lots of use as you would imagine and again has never faltered. Finally purchased a 24" LCD with DVD for grandson - also very much appreciated and is used constantly. Have never had a problem with a Kogan product and would gladly recommend to anyone looking for reliable products.
Kogan great TV!
I have this TV and we use it in our caravan. I often use it but for many months it sometimes sits unused if we do not use the caravan. Every time we switch it on, it functions perfectly and the savings we made when we purchased it were awesome.
Versatile and great price
The 12V adapter to use in caravan cost extra
This is a rank under performer
Received the first TV minus the front panel. After an approx 2 week wait it was replaced by a working model which failed to transmit on any but 2 channels. This was despite the fact that it replaced a similarly sized/located/specced TV connected to the main mast and which is not in a fringe area. It did not improve with the first amplifier but finally we were able to get all channels with a second amplifier costing $49.99. That was half the cost of the TV!
The Kogan people were at least very polid if unable to help.
TV not fit for purpose - under powered to receive transmission signals therefore expensive.
Questions & Answers
Are these 16 inch TVs still available? I bought one about 2 years ago for caravan, still going perfect, I would like to buy another one
I have a 16inch kogan tv model kaled 16xxxwb which I thought was hd and able to pick up all digital channels ? But it doesnt pick up any channels. do I still need to connect a set top box ? Cheers
Kristy, I purchased a similar model and had a similar problem despite not living in a fringe area. I had to buy a signal booster which after having to try several different ones, I managed to get a signal. That effectively doubled the cost of the TV. My advice is to try another brand and send the Kogan back. The only reason I kept mine was that it was the only one available to fit the slot in my kitchen. The previous TV it replaced worked fine up until the end without booster.
