Got cheated by these crooks
I posted a review already elsewhere but this may be the correct place. This product is terrible. If you want to throw away your money then go ahead and buy this cheaply-made junk.
I have sent the notebook back 4 times already. It would have been more often if I bothered to send it back every time I had a problem and if Kogan did not take so long to return it. Kogan have now had my notebook for 6 weeks and claim there is nothing wrong with it. I sent it back because it was not charging and they claim it works fine? Bunch of crooks who are not...honest. I gave them the benefit of the doubt when they lied and stated the notebook would take 10 days to deliver when it actually took around 40 days. I sent back the notebook twice for repairs before I asked for a refund as the laptop was unreliable and not fit for purpose. I was ignored. Only when I said I would contact the ACCC did they bother responding to my request for a refund. I have barely used the device as it was always crashing or unable to be charged. I have spent more time reinstalling windows 4 times than actually using this junk. Save yourself the grief and Kogan's bad treatment.

You get what you pay for
I bought this computer in June and it was very cheap: $249. I realised that it might not be great but decided, for that money, it wasn't too much of a risk. I have had to send it back it in August for a broken power button which was repaired and returned, albeit slowly. As a tablet it is slow and often just reverts to the start screen when using an app. The Bluetooth radio is so poor that music would stutter if more than a couple of meters away from the speakers. As a tablet it has a good keyboard and is small enough to make it convenient to travel with and, being a full Windows 10 machine, is so much more useful than an Android or iPad. Overall, despite the problems, I am happy with my purchase. What more do you expect for $249?
Worst computer ever
We first purchased this computer last year for our daughter through Duck Smith's online it was awful from the start, hard to use touch points were off then it stopped working. So we tried to send it back for warranty that took a lot of back and forth with Dick Smith's, they eventually agreed to replace the device. Well the replacement also broke 1mth after receiving it. So I asked for a refund, nope after again many emails and much of my time wasted they agreed to take it back to repair it. Kogan NEVER AGAIN!
Waste of money
Firstly it took over a month to get delivered from China which was not as advertised.
Cheap quality. Have had to send it back 4 times for repair already for a non working charger, keyboard and constant crashing/blue screen.
Touchscreen unreliable and only started working recently.
Big regrets buying this junk which I intended to use for work but is not reliable. I have had to use my kids laptops because the Atlas always has problems.
It reminds me of those cheap tablets you can buy from target which they added a keyboard to. Would you use...
Good value for money (at this stage)
Have had Atlas 2in1 for 4 days. Installed a 32gb SD card to run OneDrive. This is working well. Have installed a financial program (Quicken Personal 2012) which is operating ok. Also a Cricket Archiving program (CktStatz) which although slow delivers the results.
At this stage all computer facilities seem to be working. Have not used the touch screen much. Keyboard seems a little fragile (clunky).
For $300 Aus (including delivery and SD card) it appears good value. I am not using this as a main PC, but rather as a travelling companion.
Will post updates if I have issues.
Nothing but problems. What a waste of time and money!
Can I rate 0? I bought Kogan Atlas 2in1 Pro as my daughter's first laptop as I thought it is light weight for a little girl to carry to school. But since she started using it there has been nothing but endless problems. The screen would easily be damaged by the keyboard when it is folded, so we have to put a layer of cloth between the screen and the keyboard; the screen started popping windows up randomly and closing windows at its leisure so we had to turn off the touchscreen; now the keyboard stopped working, and I cannot even turn off the pa...d by pressing the power button. Now every time I try to troubleshoot it I have to wait for the battery to run out so that I can turn it back on again by plugging the power in. This is the first time I bought a kogan product and this is definitely the last as well!

Terrible quality doesn't last
Bought this Notebook to use for travelling. At first worked ok for about 1 month except that the WIFI dropped out after 45 mins and needed reboot to get going again very annoying. Didn't use it for a while as we weren't travelling then took it on another trip and the touchscreen stopped working. Key board was still working so used that. Took it on another trip after that and halfway through the power button refused to turn on the computer - not what you want when away. Altogether only used for about 3 months out of the last 14 and it is now useless.
Tried contacting Kogan but no reply from their customer service!!!
Have used Kogan many times before but after this experience would have to say the technology is not up to scratch.
Not happy with this product.
Th is is the 3rd time I have started this review and the text just disappears or the Windows screen pops up or I just wind up somewhere I don't want to be or the text runs into previously typed sentences forcing me to correct it continuously (until it disappears altogether. The touch screen is not responding correctly ie to scroll up or down I have to swipe from left to right. My brother bought this computer nearly a year ago but did not like using it. It has been in its box for the best part of a year and he has given it to me to see if I want to buy it from him. I had a couple of days of enjoyment from it but today has been nothing but frustration. If it worked properly I would buy it in a flash!
okay for the price but touchscreen is not very ... touchy
it's proved to be functional for my work/reading requirements. Even plays The Sims reasonably well. which is pretty good for me. The biggest issue for me is that the touchscreen is really annoyingly unresponsive at times and I have to touch something three or four times before it kicks in.
OK as a laptop but.
when using as a tablet the windows 10 menu pops up randomly and becomes quite tiresome to use and the pop up keyboard does'nt always work. I have never successfully completed a password, one or more letters or numbers always fails. also when playing games touchscreen doesnt operate properly and sometimes not at all. Laptop functions work fine but i bought it for tablet use as well
a waste of money
this item would be great if it worked properly but it doesnt because the keyboard doesnt function properly and at least two keys do not function as they should and no good sending it back to be fixed as that doesnt happen and is returned with same problem and not getting help from distributor very dissatisfied.

It's OK, the Pro version is a better buy though...
I've never used the original touchscreen, but some apparent problems like the windows menu popping up randomly have forced me to disable the touch panel and use it like a normal laptop, which is perfectly fine with me. The Pro version is definitely a better buy. While the keyboard is still slightly flexible, you get double the storage and RAM, and if you disable the touch panel, a great and working laptop. Asphalt 8 is playable on Medium settings, I wouldn't try anything too intensive. Editing 4K photos on Polarr is surprisingly smooth, even 5K...photos. My Wi-if has actually never dropped despite views by other people, and it even comes with a 1080p 16:10 ratio display! Colours are way better than the Asus X205TA owned by my little brother, and often uses my laptop to edit video footage. Calibration is advised though, download QuickGamma or something. The laptop is a fingerprint magnet and may require a weekly clean. Onedrive has been very useful in keeping my space in check, and I love that the BIOS is customizable. It allows my laptop to be a little faster. Battery life wasn't a problem, although I do wish the charger was a little faster in filing my battery up, it takes 3 hours to get 30% back. There seems to be a lack of palm rejection, forcing me to lock the trackpad, the keyboard is a little cramped, but at least it offers really nice key travel (a little more than 2mm it seems) and the trackpad is a bit rough compared to a glass trackpad and it is a bit small, but I adapted to it just fine. The display is actually quite visible in broad daylight, and it was a joy to use outdoors in my experience. Overall a great experience for me. However, this is the Pro model and I highly suggest that everyone thinking about getting this laptop should definitely get the Pro version, as the faults are definitely more ignorable this way. If you want to open the BIOS, hold F2 and Delete at the same time. Note: my first unit had a faulty keyboard, units may come with faulty keyboards, but happily Kogan has one of if not the best over-the-phone customer service in the world.
Worst purchase I have ever made!
Lucky to get 1 hour use before needing to recharge. Connection to Wi-Fi keeps dropping out requiring restart. This does not happen to 3 other computers in house. Returned to Kogan and their "technicians" could find no fault! They returned it to me with the comment that I was liable to pay for them to look at it but, in this instance, they would waive the charge!!! So much for the warranty! Last time I will buy anything from this company.
February 23rd 2017 Update: Update on my previous review
After several months of corresponding bac...k & forth with various Customer Service people at Kogan, including sending the notebook back for the technicians to check it, I have at last received help from a new contact there. This gentleman e-mailed me a WiFi Fix which solved my problem immediately. Am very grateful that eventually someone recognised the problem and was able to fix it. A big "Thank you" to Roberrt M. January 21st 2019 Update: No after sale service. Made an enquiry on January 14 about purchasing new Power Adaptor as the original one seems to be broken. Have had several replies from different people at Kogan saying that they had passed on my request and would be in touch. It is now January 21 and am still no further ahead. How long does it take to check if a part is available?? My other issue with this device is it only runs for approx. 1 hour before battery runs out. It appears that once you have bought an item from Kogan you can forget about any after sales service. Bought this approx. 2 years ago. Cannot recall exact date.
Slow and Windows Menu opens by itself
This unit is advertised as a notebook powerful enough for gamers. It is slow. The worst of all in that my particular unit has an issue where the Windows Menu opens up by itself. You could be typing or clicking on something when the Windows menu (when you click the Windows icon on the bottom left hand side) appears and you lose the focus of hat you were doing and you need to close the menu before you are able to do anything else. Sometimes the menu appears straight after you close it and opens up again and again. It is like someone is clicking away on your notebook remotely. The worst is when the unit turns itself off for no reason too. I have sent an enquiry to Kogan and I hope I get a reasonable response.
Flimsy, slow and bad battery
I bought this mainly for typing on the go, and this seemed to fit the bill. First point of disappointment was the delivery. It took 10 days to get here (metropolitan area). First of all when I opened and booted, the keyboard feels really flimsy and that the keyboard comes off the table in laptop mode doesn't help. It also seemed quite slow, I also had problems getting Bluetooth working. After the initial charge was up, I tried to charge but it wouldn't let me while working. I then charged while the device was turned off, and after booting up ag...ain, the status said 2 hrs and a bit left. That was a full charge! I contacted kogan and they were pretty quick with responding. I asked if I can still return it as I was overall not very happy with the product (it as within the 14 days) and they agreed. It still took 12 working days to get confirmation, because the technicians still tested if there was a fault with the battery (which was confirmed). I got the full purchase price back 2 days later. Cheap price, cheap product, but the customer service is pretty good. Stretch your budget by another 150 dollars and get something more profound.
Poor quality for the money
Purchased this as it gave me the option of having a notebook with a keyboard, and a detachable tablet to take overseas on a holiday, bad move. The product is extremely heavy, and very slow. Had it for only a few days and the battery would not hold it's charge. Called Kogan and got the run around, and they said that I needed to reset it to factory default, which I wasn't prepared to do as I would lose all my data and installed apps. They didn't care about that. After 4 or more phone calls to their so called customer service, what a joke, and sti...ll not resolved, I gave up and went and purchased a Lenovo note book which never missed a beat on my trip. Kogan products are sent from Hong Kong, we should have started alarm bells, as after sales service from them is non existent. I am now left with a useless piece of weighty junk, that will probably go in the garbage. Beware of Kogan, as they don't stand behind their products, and don't offer true customer service.
