Affordable and pragmatic stand mixer
I'm a baking novice and last year I finally had the time to do some basic baking. At the beginning of the year I had never kneaded dough or baked anything in my life. I was manually mixing and kneading dough to make bread, cakes, pasta, noodles and dumpling wrappers.
I've never owned a stand mixer before and after watching many YouTube videos found that the norm was to use a stand mixer to do the hard yakka. And boy this little cheapie from Kogan works!
As a beginner getting into baking I baulked at the more expensive brand name mixers from K...enwood or KitchenAid which were 4 to 14 times more expensive. Who would pay $1,400 for a stand mixer? Not me! But who knows - if I turn professional I might. I don't know if my little hobby of baking was likely to continue so my budget for a stand mixer was to get something that will do the basics. I'm not keen to stockpile used kitchen appliances so I always approach it by going cheap at first to see if it will become a useful member of the family before I spend more on a sturdy product. I told myself that if it works at least 10 times it would pay for itself. And as I write this review - I've used it at least ten times. If it keeps working beyond the first year - I'd be happy. Ordered it from Kogan and it arrived fast. It was packaged well in typical Kogan style.
