Defender's are all constant 4 wheel drive unless you have converted to free wheeling hubs. Cheers

Hello Fab - I'd suggest that like any vehicle - you should get it to a workshop quickly

Hi,
I will import a land rover defender 110 2011 from uk. But the dealer told me after i buy(internet) the car that has no A/C. Is this possible?

Hi John
I thought all Puma's would come standard with air conditioning - I don't think I could live without A/C in mine.

Hi, I need some advice.

I'm very close to purchasing a 2003 Defender Extreme MY03 110 with around 90xxxx ks on the clock.
What are some things I should look out for? and what questions apart from the norm should I be asking the owner?

Cheers

Well if you're interested then you already know that they need upkeep, which is either time or money. Each will have it's own problem, mine the turbo blows up, but such is life. As Doctor Seuss says 'you're off to great places!' Or not sometimes.

How is the heated rear screen timed. I cannot see any timers on any wireing diagrams.
Thanks.

Hey js6 - i'm pretty sure it is not timed at all - just manual turn off & on as needed for as long as required

Hi Glen
It is timed somehow because it goes off after several minutes similar to the front screen, which has a timer relay.
Thats what makes me think it must be timed somehow.

Hi, I have a 2015 2.2 110, just done its 16k now, I am experiencing an annoying noise comes from under body, it only comes when the REV hits about 1600 rpm, almost every time, but only noticeable after 2nd gear, I couldn't hear a damn thing at 1st or 2nd. The noise sounds like something is loose in the transmission or clutch and is scratching the case while spinning, but it only last a second or 2, as long as it wipes over the next mark the noise stops immediately. I have checked all parts I could reach, there is nothing loose.

Any idea?

Thanks

Take it to a mechanic

@Steve
I have already taken it to LR dealer, but they couldn't find any fault.

Take it back and insist on going for a drive with the mechanic so you can both hear the noise.

Fuel economy is a big issue for me at the moment. I have created drag with my max trax and high lift mounted of the side of the rack but I honestly did not think it would be this bad. I am searching for other potential issues and have had the muffler modified for better air flow.

Any thoughts?

Very normal. A lot of Land Rover gear boxes are like that. Try adjusting the way you let out the clutch with the accelerator. When you get good at it, it wont clunk!

Not sure this is the right place to post as I am interested in the 2014 2..2 110SW

We are in need of a vehicle that can do bush tracks. Ground clearance, much dust, gravel, sand, mud, sharp rocks etc.

We are considering '14 Dfer, Disco4 SE, Rangey Sport in S-trim, not HSE. On the latter, both SDV6 and SCV6 engines are being considered as well.

Off-roading event days are not being considered but intended use is for humanitarian work in remote regions, usually 2 or 3 pax, sometimes 5. Getting there is almost 1,000km of good tar, after which a return trip of up to 800km unpaved roads as described.

The 3 regular pax all suffer from arthritis and one had spinal injury, has limited mobility. We hear stories of cramped legs and insufficient elbow space on Dfers.

Is the new traction control easily affected by dust?

If all three models cost the exact same price, which would you buy for these trips and why would you decide upon your chosen model?
