Great for the price
I bought the Dual DVD player on special from Big W for $127 for my twin toddlers and its the best money I've spent on something in ages.
They hated going n the car, now it's peaceful for me to drive.
I haven't tried the DVD player yet, we have everything on usb so it's great.
It's easy to set up and everything is included like the headrest holders, headphones & also a wall charger.
Edit - 16 August 2020
Update about the product. Over the last week the DVDs started skipping until the system wouldn't recognise a DVD at all.
The second screen's...
obsolete since 2003
My wife purchased this from Target for our road trip to keep the kids entertained. She was there to buy a Protab but was talked into buying the lazer dual dvd player by the tech 'expert' instore. I downloaded several movies onto a usb but none would work. I suppose it only takes DVDs. But I don't have any technology that can be played on 480 X 234 resolution! Blu-Ray has been out for 15 years. The manufacturer needs to get with the times. I immediately returned it to Target.
Returned 2nd one!
The sound is extremely low, picture is pretty good but overall the first one i got had to be replaced the day i got it as the main screen was not working now i am returning the replacement for a refund after using 5-6 times as the second screen is flashing no picture. But the store is happy to refund
Won't recognise video formats
So I purchased these at Big W after using the OLIN branded variant. On putting in a USB drive had issues not detecting (NTSC formatted instead of FAT32). Then I put a movie in as mkv and it wouldn't work. Tried XVid 720, not recognised. DivX formatted using several video coding methods through Format Factory and still only audio.
Really annoyed by this. Seems unless you are playing DVD's don't bother. There is also no option buttons on the front panel to navigate around so the only way is via the flimsy remote. Should be good in the middle of ...
Reasonably great system with a few flaws
Great system for the kids in-car, comes with a remote, easily used indoors, I don't even use a dvd, but the usb is loaded with plenty of movies for the kids. I wish the power adaptor came as a usb power lead set up like our modern smart phone set up. thanks :)
cheap @ $89AUD from Target! Portable!
In-car use: Every time you start your car, the dvd player restarts the first movie every time. The volume is reset to level 13. Power adapter is not usb friendly.
Player is fine - but reliability is awful
I bought one of these last September to keep the kids quiet on long journeys. I wanted this one particularly because it was regionless. By January it had stopped working. It was probably used once in the car and a couple of times in the home. It wasn't abused or misused, just failed to turn on one day. Sent it back and got a replacement. Put it safely away in a big camera bag for safe keeping. Used it a couple more times on 4hr plus trips and guess what, this one has just stopped working too. It's now out of warranty and I can't be both...ered with it. Maybe cheap and regionless, but it's too unreliable to waste your money on. Save your cash and spend it on something that works. Regionless and works fine - when it works Had two, both just failed to turn on one day after minimal use.
