LDV G10 after nearly 2 years.
LDV G10.. I was suspect.. LOTS.. having 25 years of vans from early terrible Ford vans to better Toyota HI Ace & SBV.. 10 years with a Ford Transit mid roof Diesel etc. The Fact these were Chinese.. Leyland Daff Vehicle do get past it.. as the engine is as I understand it... Nissan Diesel, gearbox Ford, Suspension partly GM, Electrics Bosch.. and body design.. (I suspect was actually Holden By Design.. but fact check all that somehow). .. The van I bought was the Diesel Auto.. barn doors excellent for minor pallet loading.. then dual side doors..... Seat for driver and often forgotten passenger are very comfortable and material heavy duty. Stereo , cruise, el windows, central lock.. etc all good.. WHAT SUCKS is the blue tooth phone mic.. for petes sake LDV fix this up.. We'll be paying for a private installer to improve that.at $160.. so be it. Overall IT IS THE BEST VAN WE HAVE EVER OWNED.. We brought a 2nd one 14 days ago May 2021 from LDV Campbelltown.. traded in our other van a VW Caddy Maxi diesel auto. Again.. the best van we have had. END OF Story..

Great vehicle. Over 90000km so far!
Great vehicle for the price, yes there is a bit of turbo lag but I haven't had any issue except a broken spring in the seat, dealer replaced the entire seat, no questions asked. I tow every day with it, not light trailers but heavy trailers. I have only replaced the tyres at 70000km and the brakes I haven't touched yet. After reading these other reviews I have no idea how they go through 9 tyres and 3 sets of brakes, they must have no idea how to drive or maintain their vehicle. Dealers have been Great, this is a brilliant vehicle, ignore th...e other negative reviews, I have nothing but praise for the vehicle except the turbo lag which they do need to sort out. On 91000kms so far and still drives like it did on day one. Look after your vehicle and it won't give you issues. Oh yeah I have only every used 91 octane fuel and still runs well.
Purchased in September 2017 for $32,000.00.
Vantastic vehicle, great build quality and value for money
Haven’t used it much due to Covid-19 restrictions
1,500Klm so far so good
Drives well, has a sedan feel and SUV driving position
Auto gearbox with diesel turbo is super smooth
Load capacity A1

Awesome Family Van
we use our van every day for our family school runs, we have a G10 7 Seater 2.0 Turbo and surprisingly this van can use SHELL RON91 petrol (checked and no knocking), but usually use 98 for long road trips which was awesome, filled up once from Sydney to Melbourne no refills along the way. service every 6 months and expected it to be a tin can but it has a nice weight to it and no body roll when turning. favorite feature of the van is the space, 6x passengers and my Medium size 29er mountain bike in the boot or it can go in the middle without taking of front wheel.
Purchased in November 2018 at Macarthur Nissan for $21,000.00.
The Best Van ever
I have driving this van since 2016, and it is really good.
Well, the car had some small fixable issues, but all been fixed up during the services.
My one is a 9 seater.
This car can use SHELL RON91 petrol (checked and no knocking) and not sure why the manual mentioned >RON92.

The Best Van ever
My family and I love going out together, so we decided to purchase a 7 seater. The 7 seater we first got was so hard to get in and out of so I decided to look into purchasing another that was easier to get in and out of. After months of searching we came across the LDV G10 people mover. Its so big inside, with ample room for everyone and luggage too. We got a special edition with leather seats, a pull down usb tv player, it has usb points all over the place so you can keep everybody,s devices charged at all times. All seats slide forwards ...and backwards including the very back seat, and all recline. I have a sun roof and a moon roof. I love love love this van.... The only thing that is not great, is that there is no Apple Play or GPS system. Also its really high so now i have to watch for height restrictions when I go into car parks, and through tunnels. Over all we all love the car, and its more than fabulous for the price paid.
Purchased in December 2018 at LDV Penrith Branch for $36,990.00.
Very good car for the price
Purchased the 2019 G10 Executive 9 seater. From the car point of view it is very good. A lot of features for the price.
The only thing that lets this car down is the Bluetooth(volume for the people your speaking to is very low as it’s a poor quality microphone) and the fact the car doesn’t come with floor mats. The last thing is the fuel consumption is not what they state(it’s not bad but no where near there assumption)
Purchased in January 2019.
love this vehicle.
Full house and very nice to drive. Have mine for over a year now and no problems what so ever. Really impressed. will highly recommend. I bought the 9 seater and wow!! what a lot of room
Purchased in February 2018 for $39,000.00.
Great value good car
We have had the g10 for a year a nd a half for work and it has been great economy is great power is good we have travelled in it on long distances and comfort never an issue body and paint are good i do look after it but it does around 90ks a week on dirt roads as we services some properties interior and seats wear well as we are in and out a fair bit all in all great car my only problem is wr dont have a dealer in town so it is serviced at toyota and there is no way to cancel the service light but i will put up with that very good car. It is diesel manual by the way
I waited for the first 5000k, before writing this review because I could not believe how GOOD this-now updated 50,000km
This is my first van which I use to transport large joinery units around the country. I researched every other vehicle of this type and was sure until I found the G10 that the only thing I could afford was a second, third or fourth hand Hyundai or Toyota which had all done well over 100,000km. I took what I thought to be a huge risk and purchased my g10 for less than the cost of the older equivalent on offer. I do not regret it, the driving experience and comfort are way above any other van. The engine is quiet, economical and a delight to dri...ve under all conditions. The air cond is fine, the radio/Bluetooth sound and quality is excellent. The seating is very comfortable for driver and passenger. The build quality is not that great, my guess is that if you run this as a fleet vehicle you might see a few pieces fall off, it's definitely not the toughest vehicle ever built, but if you look after it it will be fine. The drive alone is likely to sell you on the vehicle. Service gaps seem rather short, but so far my experience with this has been good, thankfully my original dealer has gone out of business after providing the worst possible sales experience ( apart from price) you could ever imagine. Hopefully, my experience will continue to be positive. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have. UPDATE AT 50,000KM. So the good news is that I still like this vehicle and that I'm still pretty positive about it. All my services have been performed at the same recommended LDV dealer workshop. It is true that any parts you need seem to take an age to get; luckily mine were both trim based and not mechanical but were ultimately replaced without question. My small rust issue, however, identified at 5000km has never been resolved, at each service I identify it and it's referred back to LDV for approval which I am then told will be OK at next service, I can't be bothered to chase them up but I will ensure it's fixed eventually, it's also encouraging that the original small rust issue has not grown to any other area of the vehicle. So apart from the surprisingly casual attitude of the importer to warranty and spare parts as reported by others my experience with the actual vehicle continues to be positive. As I said before, it's my vehicle and I treat it gently, not sure that as a fleet vehicle it would do so well. The diesel engine is terrific, the cabin comfortable, fuel economy is incredible. Reading some of the reviews makes me feel a bit like I won a lucky dip prize when the dealer I purchased from had 2 identical vehicles to choose from and gave me this one, did the other vehicle fare as well as mine? Happy to answer any questions if you are considering purchasing one of these. I enjoy driving this vehicle and do recommend a test drive at least before you spend thousands more on an alternative.
Purchased in May 2018 for $27,900.00.
Very happy. Great for a growing family.
No complaints so far after 6 months of ownership. Its very well priced, and we have been able to transport our family of 6 with great comfort. We opted for the 9 seat version to get the leather seats and the extra room at the back. It drives and handles like a much smaller than would be expected, and better than our previous car (Tarago). We would happily buy the car again, however wish we had been able to opt for the Executive model which has been released.
Great people mover
I am living in Cairns and no LDV dealer before 2018, so i purchased this G10 2L auto model from Brisbane. It is nearly a year and done 8500km on it. Engine is great. It will be nice if the vehicle fits with electric sliding doors for people mover model.
The only thing I noticed the transmission won't shift 5th gear when it reachs 60km/h. I have to accerlerate to 65km/h everytime to make it shift, then reduce speed back to 60Km/h in order to maintain fuel efficieny. I am not sure whether other G10 owner has this same issue.
However, ...I found out LDV has released executive model, which has sunroofs, electric sliding doors and passenger entertainment unit. Too bad, i had bought the vehicle already or i certainly go for the executive model with just 7k extra.
A fantastic van, amazing value
I bought my G10 Auto Turbo petrol in March 2017 after testing a few makes. I liked the looks and the way it drove. I've done 16 000 trouble free km's and still look forward to every drive. The engine has loosened up dramatically since new. It's got a lot of power for a van with 165kw and feels effortless.I run 91 Octane and only pings if you floor it up a steep hill before change down...but I can't tell the difference with 98. ( except no pinging) Fuel consumption varies from 7.8 freeway, to 10.8 on average outer city runs. Not sure about inne...r city. It is always fully loaded with windsurfing gear ( about 100 kg) The van is as good as anything I've previously owned in this category. No rattles, rust or deterioration so far. Handling is firm and actually corners very well with minimal body lean. The only complaint is occasionally a lag in acceleration from rolling at a few km/h....not turbo lag but drive by wire - in certain situations the computer seems to take a nap...but you learn to override it with technique once you know. Do I recommend it? Yes I do 100%. I love it.
Hi was asked to write a review on my lvdg10 van so far so good just grateful I can go on here when I’m in a panic over something I’ve had ownership of the van for 2 months I love it so far all my family and friends do too the space is great inside the van it drives great ❤️❤️
Wish they had a pair of electric sliding doors as options
Thanks for all the reviews by the real users in here. We've bought the G10 7 seats in Jun and travelled approx 3,000km. The car's engines and gears box get more and more tuned in and powerful the more you drive it. The petrol direct injection engine (google it if you don't know what it is) combined with the quality of the ZF gear box make it like driving a 3.0 lit plus engine vehicle. i guess once the 5,000km service is done, the car may fly like a rocket!! but it's van, you have to respect it.
I used to have a Ford falcon company car (2009 ...model) and done only one interstate trip because i hate sitting in that very uncomfortable seats of the falcons. The G10 has quiet down the road noise through the wheels very much. Overall quietness is much better than the falcon (although falcon has improved a lot in road noise suppression since i had my first one in 1990). The G10 engine is a bit noisy at high rev (approx 3,000) but it's typical in all the direct injection engine. Hope SAIC can do more in bonnet engine noise suppression in the future. But the engine only rev at 1800 at 110km and you can hardly hear any engine noise. One thing a lot of people may not know is the G10 turbo charge kicks in at approx 2,000 (not the usual 3,000) and is designed to the point that you don't feel the turbo lag (a lot of modern turbo engines are like that). Said a lot on good things, a few improvements i hope SAIC can bring to Oz on future Australian models as the current G10 is a bit too NO FRILL. i wouldn't mind to pay a few grand more for optional electric sliding doors, leather seats for the 7 seaters, sun roof etc which are already all available in the mid range models in China. Fuel consumption is much the same as the Falcons. 15 lit/100km but my mileage are mostly suburbs and running up and down the hills. i use Ron 95 fuel. The car uses minimum Ron 92 but i will not risk using the Ron 94 E10 petrol as direct injection fuel injectors can easily accumulate carbon if you do not have too much freeway driving.
