Purchased New Feb 2020 LDV Pro - Realistic Expectations Achieved & Some
Vehicle was very well priced when compared to Ranger & LOW-Lux. Great warranty and local dealer support and have had no issues what so ever in 18 months & 25000km. I was concerned about buying an untested 4x4 from China after the Foton & Greatwall debacle a few years ago and went for the basic entry level vehicle and the only option I was prepared to pay for was the $500 dark blue paint. Yes a bit rough with no load in it but it's a true 1 ton ute and that's what you get. Would I buy another one? Hell yes and next time it will be t...he top of the range that hits the market in about 12 months with a much better power plant. Dislikes? yes I have a few but they are not show stoppers. Reversing camera is crap, touch screen not very sensitive or intuitive. Blind spot monitoring needs to be turned of at night during wet weather as it picks up the white lines and you can not switch off the reversing sensors when backing up a trailer. Go drive a entry level diesel, manual, dual cab Ranger and Hilux, look at the price and what you get for that price and then go drive the T60, compare insurance, fuel economy, service and parts costs as well . Don't be a brand snob and honestly ask yourself what's the best value for money. Depreciation is a concern but better to have 43% on 27K over 3 years than 35% on 50K over 3 years and be driving a lower spec vehicle that cost you 20K more. Also better off road than the Hilux :o)

Great Ute but has anyone replace the review camera to get a better picture??????
Great Ute for the price but not happy with the review camera has anyone found a answer for this? Other than that seems to be a very solid Ute both on road and off

Front lights blinding drivers
Loving this Ute except one thing.
The base model (pro) I have doesn’t allow you to change the level of the front lights which means people driving in the opposite direction keep high beaming me (I can only assume they think I have the high beam on myself) and I’m blinding them in the process.
I’ve tried to find a way to sort this out but the dial to adjust the lights is not available in the pro model.
Surely adjusting the front lights (and not blinding drivers) isn’t something that only the more expensive models should have, instead all models should?

Solid work horse
Use this daily for work. Generally speaking for 6-8 hours a day. Serviced it on time regularly. Reliable like my wifes Toyota. Very happy with the purchase despite initial doubts, but was priced right.

Enjoying it a lot thus far
I went from a 4L 6cyl petrol to the 2020 Luxe 2.8 4cyl diesel, which is a bit of a change. I miss the cd player in the old car, but am loving the Luxe. Tows my horse float beautifully, drives really well and is a comfortable, practical vehicle that is surprisingly easy to handle. I do a mix of highway and rural driving, with a bit of city stuff thrown in.
The head unit (radio etc) can be a bit quirky, and I have an android phone instead of an i-phone, which by all accounts work a treat in these cars, but once you get used to the radio res...etting itself to 10 every time you turn it off, it's all good. The dealer I bought it from was great and the local dealer who did my first service is not bad, so I'm happy. It's a lot of car for the money. Worth investigating.

Just taken delivery a few days ago. All marketing on the Trailrider 2 show the new custom sportsbar. When mine arrived it had the old style. When I questioned this, i was told that the new look will be on the 2021 vehicle. Not a huge issue, but i was a little miffed that this was not mentioned anywhere.

For almost $15000 less than the most basic Ranger... Pretty good.
Only issues I have had were with the aircon. Took to one LDV service centre who said it was normal and no real issue. Took to another service centre who diagnosed and fixed it under the 5 year warranty.
Long trips up the coast have been easy. Just set the cruise control and off we go. Power hasn't been an issue really, I'm not racing anyone but have no issues passing people with full load of camping gear in the back. The tub is bigger than say a BT50 or a Triton which mean I can fit my XL mountain bike in the back no issues, with the lid down.... Have done proper off-road once, 4wd was easy to shift and diff lock easy too. Held it's own against the other vehicles, a few Rangers and a jeep. I had the standard tyres on though. All terrains would be worth fitting. Have had the camera freeze once or twice in two years but the 360 degree camera is excellent and help getting into tight spots. Overall, can't complain when I'm paying $15 grand less than the most basic of Ford Rangers with limited to no extra features. With the Luxe you get electric everything, leather seats, rear aircon vents for the back seats and a 5 star ancap safety rating, which is better than the Amarok. For me, if you can accept the fact the car is Chinese made, you can save yourself some decent money by buying one of these.
Purchased in January 2018 for $32,000.00.
You get what you pay for.
Bought this Ute for Camping trips and the occasional off road trek.
It has too many gadgets, too many system updates needed to stop faults from happening.
I've had both key fobs loose their codes, or the car lost the codes, either way it was half a day at the dealers to rectify, I've had three flat batteries, one was after the system update that was supposed to fix this issue.
All three times the car was left for two or three days, always locked.
Next came a window issue, when winding up the window on the drivers side, it would reach the top,...

Happy with my LDV T60 Pro auto
I've had my LDV T60 Pro auto since new Aug 2018, paying $36,000 with a towbar, tonneau cover, darkest legal tint & electronic trailer brake controls as optional extras. I generally use it for daily commutes & towing a campervan on holidays. Since obtaining it, I have just shy of 30,000km on the odometer, with just under 13,000km completed in the last 8 weeks on sealed & dusty, corrugated, roads going on east to west on the Outback Way, returning via Eyre Hwy & other sealed roads) while towing a campervan with a GCM of approx 5t. Very little dus...t ingress into the cabin on the dirt roads, averaging 12.1 litres per 100km with aircon going & cruise control set on 95kph when on the highways. So far it's been a solid performer with a minor glitch with cruise control disengaging occasionally when under load driving up steep hills while towing the campervan.

About to buy 2nd T60
Had the T60 Luxe Auto since Nov 17, other than a floaty suspension that’s now been upgraded by Walkinshaw parent company of HSV, the vehicle is a clear winner compared to the overpriced alternatives. So impressed, I’ve ordered a T60 Trailrider & the wife’s getting her 2nd LDV G10. Their absolutely brilliant vehicles for dollar value, however some of the dealerships let LDV down ripping off their own clients with service costs. I found a difference of $280 between two dealerships for a 15k service. Shop around people, I went to a VACC approved mechanic for a fraction of the price the dealerships charge. Other than that, can’t wait to get the next one.
Purchased in November 2017 for $33,690.00.
Practical but there's a few downside
I love my LDV T60 Trailrider and it was really affordable. Although, as has been told by other reviews, the Infotainment is really hard to work with. It uses Easycon not Android Auto. Low in torque. But overall, as I don't pull trailer and don't go 4WD'ng very often, car is above average for my liking.

Value for Money But A Lot of Issues and Bad Service Centre
I bought the LDV T60 in white in March 2018. I use it for family transport and soon, caravan towing. The front driver and back passenger seats started to tear in the first 2 months so I had to get them replaced. The iPhone USB port fell into the panel so it had to be fixed. The light stabiliser light, tyres warning light randomly illuminated for a while and now have stopped. Today the engine light has illuminated and stayed on. I have need it in again and it has been to the dealer 4 times. I have only done 11,000km! I have to back for the 5th t...ime to see what this engine issue is about. The dealer - Gold Coast large service centre - is the worst part about the car. Just poor service, fail to return calls and fail to fix everything all at once. Disappointing that there are so many issues with a brand new car. But the car itself is decent for the price.

Value for Money....
Value for money 10/10.....
Has everything and more.
Purchased Localy and has done 8,000 kms.
52k for Hilux v,s 30 k LDV!!
Very happy with this vehicle
Only down side is radio continually stays on with ignition off.
So radio only turns off with door locked.
As no setting can overide this.
I have had my lux level t60 for
4 months I have just put on new shocks ironman nitrogas it has made a 80% difference in handling an now it will be the same as all the top end 4 by 4 on the Market and I have 19000 km on the clock will be flashing the ecu and all is equal with the competitor's cost 2500.00 for the improvements witch is under most competitors for what you get at price point.
Packed full of features
15,000km on the clock now & everything has been great. We did have a flat battery when we arrived back from holiday after not driving it for a few weeks - but we were provided with a new battery & software update and it has been great ever since.
5000km -We are very happy with our LDV T60 Luxe. It is a dual cab packed full of features. We have enjoyed the seat warmers this winter. Love how the headlights adjust as you go around corners/up & down hills. 360 degree cameras. Lovely and comfortable to drive. Economical for a big 4WD. 5 star ANCAP Safety Rating. 5 year warranty. Amazing value. We highly recommend.
Questions & Answers
Hi brains trust, I was wondering if it is normal for the traction control to automatically turn off when 4 low is selected?
Hi Butch, As I have only had a couple of times I had the need to use traction control, it stayed on until I was out of trouble, however I have noticed the LDV has a few electronic features that turn off by themselves such as the ECO control. Might be an LDV thing, however I would check with the mechanics next time you get it services.
Yes it's normal.
If l leave my t60 in the shed without starting for 2 weeks ,the battery doesn’t have enough charge to start it. Everything is switched off. Any clues
How old is your battery?
Battery is original. Ute will be 3 years old in November
I'm a FIFO worker, 2 weeks on 1 week off (2&1), and needed a manual isolator on the battery terminal to solve this issue from new. Bunbury Batteries & Radiator's fitted the device and all up cost was $50 (including fitting) and took 5 minutes.
Every time we turn the car on the radio blasts and we have to be super quick to turn it down even though it wasn’t that high when car was turned off. Any help appreciated because it gives us a heart attack each time - thanks
The stereo is defective. Have LDV dealership fix, or replace. Is your driver's seat sensor faulty also? Seat belt beeper goes off when you are not in car and car is running in park?
OMG yes it does beep!!! That drives us crazy as well - I end up plugging it in to shut it up when I hear it!
Stacey, that is normal. The car engine is running so it assumes you "Should" have your seat belt on. It's not a seat sensor fault. There is a LDV T60 Owners group on Facebook where you can ask or get more answers to questions.
