First impression: excellent
We replaced an 8 year old Bosch KAN92VI30A 'side-by-side' fridge freezer, of 652 L capacity, with this LG 'French door' unit. The LG has similar dimensions to the Bosch, but a larger capacity of 730 L. The Bosch had developed a gas leak which we were told was not fixable -- not impressive after just 8 years of use. The first thing we noticed about the LG GF-B730PL was how much quieter it is than the Bosch. We have had the LG for a month now. The build quality seems good, and the features are certainly superior to the Bosch. We hope that w...ill include power consumption. LG claims that their 'Inverter Linear Compressor' is quieter and more durable than other compressors, and offer a 10 year warranty on it. The LED interior lights really illuminate things when you open the doors. This unit has what LG calls 'Surround Cooling', which means that there are cooling strips built in to the door compartments so that the fridge cools from the front as well as from the rear. The compartment lay-out is well-designed. At $2,480 delivered (from Bing Lee) before LG's $200 after-sales rebate this is excellent value. We hope this fridge-freezer proves to be more durable than the Bosch it replaced.

The design is amazing!
I love the fact that It has a lot of space in the freezer and I can organise the frozen food in a very easy way to take out. The fridge maintains the right temperature for the food, it has 2 compartments for veggies and fruits respectively, in order to make them last longer. It is little bit noisy though, but nothing annoying! I really loved it and it looks so stylish in my kitchen!

The Fridge Freezer you always wanted
Perfect balance of useable, and stylish. Every inch is easily accessible no struggle to see or reach anywhere, no more lost jar or small frozen items. The freezer drawers are on rollers (like a kitchen drawer), and slide in and out trouble free even when full. After major spinal surgery the bottom half of my fridge and freezer where impossible to reach. The LG 4 french door combo is perfect for me and anyone who struggles to bend. It's perfect for any family. It's perfect for singles who like to cook.
The extra wide shelves take any platter, th...

Deceptively large storage in a relatively slimline fridge/freezer
After much online research and originally planning on getting a bottom mount fridge, the storage and access of this fridge won me over. I don't understand why there aren't more fridges with French doors for the fridge and freezer sections like this one.
Pros - so much storage compared to other fridges this size (250L storage for the freezer was double some of it's bottom hung peers); easy access of the fridge and freezer with the French doors, great for smaller spaces as you're not opening not one huge door into your kitchen; pull out freeze...r shelves mean you don't need to dive into a large freezer drawer to find something; double bottle storage in the doors; magnetic doors; quiet. Cons - door shelves aren't adjustable (one shelf in the fridge is adjustable); still not sure how to connect to the LG Smart ThinQ App via the WiFi and its benefits.
So Far, So Good
Our new slim (835mm wide) french door matte black fridge looks beautiful in our new kitchen. The french doors on both fridge and freezer are very handy. The freezer drawers slide out smoothly. The fridge & freezer temp display on the door is nice. We did lots of research and short-listed a replacement Westinghouse, but the quality and finish of this LG won us over. It's whisper quiet and yes, our magnets do stick to the side and front - something we had to ask. The only negatives are the door shelves can't be moved and no butter compartment - nearly deal breakers for us. And, you have to give the fridge doors a good shove to shut them - maybe an adjustment is needed. Overall, so far so good. Love it, very happy.
Questions & Answers
Looking at buying this LG fridge, can I ask how does everyone feel about the fridge now, how does everyone feel about the fridge now, has your opinion change from your original reveiw, thank you in advance.
While this fridge states from LG that it is designed for 85cm width fridge space (which is my fridge space,), the fridge is 83.5cm and I'm concerned it won't be enough room for ventilation either side, as everywhere i read ( including CHOICE) have recommended 5cm clearance either side, could LG representative explain before i purchase please? i don't want the fridge to eventially breakdown from overheating. I have sufficient depth space and unlimited ceiling space as i don't have overhead cupboards. Thank you. AJ
I purchased a GF-B590MBL fridge from Harvey Norman, Midland WA. In November 2020. The problem is the plastic overlay on certain parts of the top doors is starting to peel off, my question is, is this a protector for certain areas of the doors and, can this be removed, already the it's starting to unsightly.
I have the same fridge and was having same concern on plastic overlay.
It's alright that plastic overlay is getting peeled off. I removed all plastic overlay by myself to see real beauty, haha.
so nothing to worry here, it's just kind of coating, to protect from accidental scratches.
Sorry I'm late getting back to you, but thanks. You would think that the manufacturer or the sales people would point this out and, let you know it's only a superficial protective cover and can be removed, which I haven't done yet.
