Love it! BUTT.....
We just have our fridge now 3 days, but its taking tooo long to make Ice! We dont care about the noise but it makes about 12 - 18 cubes ice at night and 12- 18 in day time? We thought it would make it quicker it is like its taking too long to tip the ice out. Thats the only problem we have so far.

Holy cow, I love this fridge
This is my first fridge with a water dispenser, and I freaking love it! Water/ ice dispenser has changed my life, and I now drink a lot more water and far less sugar garbage because it's icy, and it's right there. We got the non plumbed version because I don't have water in that side of the kitchen and who can be bothered with plumbers. But what really drew me to this was the internal design and dimensions.
I went with a side by side because the freezer on top-mounted fridges is always too small, modern bottom-mounted freezers are too big and...mostly drawers, rather than doors which you inevitably have to dig through, and French door fridges make an irritating noise when you open them. The shelves in the door of the LG are deep and can store a lot of stuff, which makes them handy. It also makes the shelves in the fridge slightly shallower and easier to reach the back. This is hands down the best designed side by side I looked at. In terms of performance, it seems to work really well, temperature can be set for both fridge and freezer, so if you like your icecream slightly softer, you can easily turn the temperature on the freezer up a bit without affecting your fridge. It has also never frozen the stuff at the back of the fridge trying to keep the front cold, so temperature seems to be pretty even across all the compartments in the fridge. And since I bought this my electricity bill has actually gone down - granted my last fridge was old, but it was also half the size. My only real criticism is that you can't really adjust the shelf spacing. We've had to end up storing the vodka in the fridge because there aren't any shelves in the freezer big enough to stand it up, and it decided to leak lying down. It's a tough life. As other reviewers mentioned, it does make some noise when making ice or dispensing water, which initially was loud enough to scare the cats. But cats are idiots and they got used to it and so have I, so that isn't really an issue now I've had it for about 6 months. And apart from the water pump, the fridge itself is whisper quiet, so I could care less about 3 seconds of pump noise in the middle of a Netflix binge when I don't have the semi-constant compressor noise in the background. It's the best fridge I've ever owned.

First time having a water and ice dispenser fridge, yes it is noisy when the pump is working but works great. have had it for over 1 year, will recommend it

Noisiest pump I've ever heard
Do not buy this fridge if you like peace and quiet in your house. The water pump which goes off every couple of hours to fill up the ice maker is unacceptably loud. It is just as loud when dispensing water and goes for as long as you are filling up. LG have been useless and think that a loud pump that our neighbours can hear is not a fault. How were we supposed to know how loud this fridge would be when looking in the store? We have said to LG that we are happy to have the pump replaced with a better one but they say it'll be the same pump so i...nstead we will be demanding a refund. This is such a major fault for a well known brand and in 2020 this is not good enough. We have paid over $2000 for a fridge that we can't even use the water and ice feature in fear it will wake up our light sleeping 2 year old. So incredibly unhappy and we will be rethinking buying LG products in the future and letting family and friends know about this.

Happy BUT ......
I have had my fridge just under 3 months now. There is a slight dent already on the door. Considering I'm the only one living here. Not a rough person. I've had to defrost it twice to fix the water dispenser. The defrosting is a very wet process. All in all the inside is lovely. The door shelves are so deep. the only fault is the water jug should be stronger for sure. A more durable material.

Great, but very noisey water pump
It is a great fridge, but...a few things: getting used to having no handles (doors are heavy - so don’t get your fingers caught when closing - ouch). The fridge is well sized, and easy to use. Ice dispenser can be heard, though tolerable. But the water pump to dispense the water, or refill the ice tray was too noisey (74 to 80db) for our liking. It could be heard through out the house, whilst somewhat deafening in the kitchen. Even my iWatch alerted to me that constant exposure may result in hearing loss... will admit, it wasn’t the fastest to ...fill my pint glass. It appeared the water pump sound reverberates off the back and side wall, amplifying the sound. Overall, a design flaw. After a 2.5month engagement with LG (replace water pump, get their techs to review video) they refunded our money and are going to take back their fridge. We will still consider LG again, and appreciate that they tried to resolve the issue, and and happy they will refund our money - even if it took longer than I would have liked.

Good for three years only
Purchased in January 2017. Last week received Error Msg and we called a technician out who advised that the ‘computer’ was no longer sending messages to the cooling system of both the fridge and freezer. We couldn’t get a time frame or if the computer part was in Australia, but looking at at least 5 days without a fridge if it was able to be repaired. Miraculously, it started again but we have received the same error messages the past two days and it has stopped working again with the same error code. My husband spent almost an hour on the pho...ne with LG service this morning, not helped by the person on the end of the phone having limited English skills. Their ‘service’ system is designed to fail the consumer when you have to upload information but you don’t have a case number to allocate it to. Today’s response was to allow up to two business days (without the fridge) to see if they would be able to help us, but no guarantees. How long can we be expected to go without a fridge while LG decides whether they will or will not offer assistance? **Edit: LG did come to the party and offered a store credit for the value of the fridge from our place of purchase, which was very much appreciated.

Everything we needed
This is our second LG fridge and after one months experience, the new fridge is working well. I note that some reviews indicate the ice maker/dispenser is loud, but from my observational experience it is tolerable and seems no worse than other brands I have used in the past.

Great fridge freezer for small family
Bought Fridge from Good Guys Hoppers Crossing on 30/5/2020. Working perfectly since installation. Love that it’s non-plumbed. Had my ice cubed or crushed whenever I like. The noise from the ice maker is not too loud at all and I got used to it soon enough. The fridge has lots of space surprisingly as the shelves on the door are wide enough for all my condiments and bottled stuff. I also like the look of the fridge freezer. The guys who delivered the fridge did an amazing job as I have few steps into my house and couple of steps down to the kitchen. Thanks Good Guys for good price and great services.

The reviewer stated that an incentive was offered for this review
An ice making fridge was always on my bucket list and when our 27 year old fridge became increasingly noisier every night until we couldn’t hear each other, we decided it was time. I did a bit of research and based on lots of excellent reviews and the price point, decided on the LG. We had to get non plumbed as it would have been out of our budget to get it plumbed in. Didn’t get off to a great start as after installation the water & ice didn’t work. A call to LG the day after and they gave me the number of a local plumber who came quickly and ...discovered it was just a loose wire and reconnected it at no cost to us. We have been super pleased with it ever since and as a family have never drunk so much water or enjoyed ice on tap. I’m enjoying my G&T’s on ice as well as scotch and drys. The fridge looks great, is super quiet and has plenty of storage for our family of 4. I love the lighting strips inside the fridge. Not sure that it will last out 27 years like my old fridge but that’s just a sign of the times.

Nothing but problems
Had the fridge for 20 months. The first problem happened about 4 days after the first anniversary. I must admit LG service on this occasion looked after me and the repairs were organised quickly. Worrying though that it was a computer panel issue and was replaced in 5 minutes. 3 weeks ago the fridge showed a fault on the electronic panel and after providing all the paperwork again, receipt, serial number etc I am still waiting. It took them 10 days to organise a repairer. The repairer said the fridge is irreparable as the fault lies in the elec...tronics within the frame. Now I am waiting with their off shore call centre who cannot give me a date on when I will receive a replacement. We have 3 small children and we have been living with an esky as our main food storage and shopping daily. The fact they cannot give me a date when I will receive a replacement for their faulty product is what upsets me the most. I would not recommend buying an LG fridge.

While I say it is a great fridge one thing knarks me about the exposed piping here in Northern Qld, warms the water, so if you just want a quick (without ice) cold drink, it is not going to happen. The reason for purchasing a non plumbed system.
Otherwise all is good, runs quietly as does the water pump and ice maker
It does maintain a consistent and reliable temperature in all compartments.
The (doors) downward hand grip (no handles) is somewhat difficult to get used too.
Watch out for the crushed ice spilling onto the floor - need a large bowl to catch the ice to prevent this.

Very Noisy Plumbing
Everything about the fridge is good, except the pump to refill ice tray and water is so noisy! It goes off at night when I'm sleeping (automatic ice maker) and it is so noisy it wakes me.
Purchased in March 2019.
It was faulty straight after delivery but LG don't care.
Nice design inside and out with really good features and the new design ice maker although not holding as much ice as the previous model is quieter and nicer to use. I don't like the concealed handles and would have preferred normal robust handles as the slim line ones are slippery and people always grab them wrong the first time. The black plastic on the ice maker is a bad choice as it shows dried water stains and fingerprints like there's no tomorrow. Other layout and internal design of the fridge are good enough. I wish this whole fridge wor...ked as it should but sadly it started playing up 10 days after purchase (May 2019) and now it's November 2019 and I'm still fighting with LG just to acknowledge the issue and replace it. They are being hostile and unhelpful and I've had to lodge a Fair Trading claim to try and get my $2000 back or a fridge which works. I didn't intend to be stuck with a fridge which runs the freezer at minus 32 and the fridge at 10.

Questions & Answers
Why the one in Matte Black color is more expensive than that of Stainless Steel? Is there any filters required for this model as the salesman told me that it does not require one while I read in some reviews that filters are to be replaced from time to time? When we are away and want to keep the fridge on, is it the best to turn off the ice maker? Thanks.
hi my fridge is almost three months old. Been not the greatest investment so far. My question is to you all. The water tank is not dispensing water at all. I have since worked it out that the water line from the water tank to the dispenser in the freezer either has ice in it or air in it. Any suggestions how to fix it. Thanks
Only 1 month old and was working fine. But last couple days Ice machine has only produced 5 cubes of ice? Water tank full. Still hear the ice maker noises??? What’s wrong with it?
