Noisiest pump I've ever heard
Do not buy this fridge if you like peace and quiet in your house. The water pump which goes off every couple of hours to fill up the ice maker is unacceptably loud. It is just as loud when dispensing water and goes for as long as you are filling up. LG have been useless and think that a loud pump that our neighbours can hear is not a fault. How were we supposed to know how loud this fridge would be when looking in the store? We have said to LG that we are happy to have the pump replaced with a better one but they say it'll be the same pump so i...nstead we will be demanding a refund. This is such a major fault for a well known brand and in 2020 this is not good enough. We have paid over $2000 for a fridge that we can't even use the water and ice feature in fear it will wake up our light sleeping 2 year old. So incredibly unhappy and we will be rethinking buying LG products in the future and letting family and friends know about this.

Good for three years only
Purchased in January 2017. Last week received Error Msg and we called a technician out who advised that the ‘computer’ was no longer sending messages to the cooling system of both the fridge and freezer. We couldn’t get a time frame or if the computer part was in Australia, but looking at at least 5 days without a fridge if it was able to be repaired. Miraculously, it started again but we have received the same error messages the past two days and it has stopped working again with the same error code. My husband spent almost an hour on the pho...ne with LG service this morning, not helped by the person on the end of the phone having limited English skills. Their ‘service’ system is designed to fail the consumer when you have to upload information but you don’t have a case number to allocate it to. Today’s response was to allow up to two business days (without the fridge) to see if they would be able to help us, but no guarantees. How long can we be expected to go without a fridge while LG decides whether they will or will not offer assistance? **Edit: LG did come to the party and offered a store credit for the value of the fridge from our place of purchase, which was very much appreciated.

Bad product quality, bad customer service experience
At least in my case, the product showed strange signs from the very beginning (clonk-clonk noise from the compresor, for a random periods of around 2 mins). I called the support, and they made american-tape kind of cheapest and temporary repairs ("official staff", called directly from LG official website.. that indeed the staff was subcontracted omg).. and when the warranty expired the compressor finally was broken.. in three years! they wanted to make: 1 visit check, ask for the replace piece 2weeks??? wth and another visit to install so.. aro...und 220$. they wanted to keep doing the same but 90$ each visit after warranty so.. a serious company would have replaced the product a long time ago.. anyway, here I put my 5 reasons why LG is not suitable choice for fridges: https://youtu.be/rtluWhPDhdI ..I really hope it helps someone.. and please enrich the info with your own experience, so it helps other people. Extremely noisy ice maker
No problem with the fridge. It's near new BUT it makes an horrible grinding noise from the ice maker that echos through the whole house at inconsistent times, night and day.

Nothing but problems
Had the fridge for 20 months. The first problem happened about 4 days after the first anniversary. I must admit LG service on this occasion looked after me and the repairs were organised quickly. Worrying though that it was a computer panel issue and was replaced in 5 minutes. 3 weeks ago the fridge showed a fault on the electronic panel and after providing all the paperwork again, receipt, serial number etc I am still waiting. It took them 10 days to organise a repairer. The repairer said the fridge is irreparable as the fault lies in the elec...tronics within the frame. Now I am waiting with their off shore call centre who cannot give me a date on when I will receive a replacement. We have 3 small children and we have been living with an esky as our main food storage and shopping daily. The fact they cannot give me a date when I will receive a replacement for their faulty product is what upsets me the most. I would not recommend buying an LG fridge.

Very Noisy Plumbing
Everything about the fridge is good, except the pump to refill ice tray and water is so noisy! It goes off at night when I'm sleeping (automatic ice maker) and it is so noisy it wakes me.

It was faulty straight after delivery but LG don't care.
Nice design inside and out with really good features and the new design ice maker although not holding as much ice as the previous model is quieter and nicer to use. I don't like the concealed handles and would have preferred normal robust handles as the slim line ones are slippery and people always grab them wrong the first time. The black plastic on the ice maker is a bad choice as it shows dried water stains and fingerprints like there's no tomorrow. Other layout and internal design of the fridge are good enough. I wish this whole fridge wor...ked as it should but sadly it started playing up 10 days after purchase (May 2019) and now it's November 2019 and I'm still fighting with LG just to acknowledge the issue and replace it. They are being hostile and unhelpful and I've had to lodge a Fair Trading claim to try and get my $2000 back or a fridge which works. I didn't intend to be stuck with a fridge which runs the freezer at minus 32 and the fridge at 10.

Beware of Fire risk
we had house fire caused by faulty ice maker of our side by side lg fridge. there are many model numbers are at risk. beware of that please. check lg website. I wont buy lg fridge anymore.
Fault unit broke within 10 months
I purchased a new fridge from LG hoping it would be lifetime investment. My dream only lasted 11 months. Notices it started making noise, made a first call to LG on the 2nd of May. Tech came to check confirming unit is faulty needed replacement. After several phone calls LG still doesn’t confirm if they are going to give me a new fridge or credit. Terrible customer service. Promised to call back 5 times no response. I am still asking them to give an answer and today is 22nd May. Please do not ever buy lg products. Their customer service sucks. Their incompetence has forced me to go on social media to write a review

This fridge is ok it keeps drinks cold the ice maker seems to not work all the time and my water comes out hot sometimes I’ve had to get it repaired 3 times already in one year I would not buy another like it the water coming out hot is ridiculous.
Terrible Service New LG Fridge Freezer broke down i 4 weeks
purchased a new fridge freezer LG GS-L668PNL in March 15 paid cash and it broke down in 4 weeks. Called LG terrible service, finally after 5 calls to the service team a technician has said its not repairable if they looked at repair they couldn't guarantee how long it will last. so a week has passed by and we have not received any confirmation on whats going on from LG company and when we will get a fridge freezer. All our food had defrosted we have three kids and they expected us just to wait for a phone call to confirm the faulty product whi...ch had been already provided from the technician. Finally provided with a store credit which i did not want because i wanted a refund already having to purchase another fridge to get a through so i wanted full refund. I wast able to do that they could only send the store credit to the store for them to refund us with. dealt with Jbhifi and had everything sorted asap . Requested that we received a compensation for the food lost, so received a form to complete to justify it all. Terrible service from LG considering how much we spent and paid cash.
refrigerator not cooling stays at 8C plus
repairer changed electric board in 1.5 months old appliance not sure was fixed as panel light and not beeping at temp change/confermation.bottom 2 veg drawers causing early vastige and liquifying with leak at joints of bottom two drawers.refrigerator air vent not able to feelk air comming out,closing door the other seems to open momentarily.
No customer service
Bought a LG fridge /Freezer within less than a month the ice dispenser stopped producing ice plus we had reported scratches when we peeled plastic off product, we contacted LG who asked for evidence of scratches plus didn't believe no ice...we had to threaten legal action to get any where, after contacting The good Guys, the manager changed the Frigde Freezer for another LG, would we buy another LG definitely not as we were made to feel at fault, after reading a few reviews we found similar complains
Looks nice but wasn't practical
I bought this fridge mostly for the water and ice function.
It was a great fridge lookswise, and it was very smooth running, but I realised after purchase that this is not a plumbed in fridge. So to have cold water, you need to keep refilling a jug in there. You might as well just buy a cheap fridge and keep a jug of cold water in there! I don't see the appeal of this model at all, so I replaced it with a Samsung fridge I could plumb into the wall and not have to refill. Much better choice.
A fly could land on this fridge and dint it, the stainless steel on the outside is really weak. The ice compartment froze over in the first month and we could not get ice out as well. Disappointed in the weakness of the outside, no one wants a new fridge with dints all over it when it was hardly touched.

Boy, I wish I had read these reviws before I purchased. We decided to go with the non-plumbed version as we weren't sure if we had plumbing available for the fridge. But the pump noise is unbearable...... it is waking us at all hours.
Can you please let me know plumbed version has a quiter pump?

Hi received our new fridge yesterday, removed the ice dispenser (not needed) and fitted extra shelf.
Tried the cold water dispenser this morning and the water is not cold, do I need to refit the ice Dispenser?
