Beware with an internet connection issue.
TV was purchased prior to renovation of my place and has been sitting in the box for 2 months before it was installed. TV was set up and followed through what asked me to do. Seems simple, all done. After one week, TV can't connect to wifi and none of the internet required function is working. Strangely Netflix is working at times whilst none of the others continues not to work. Now, this is nowhere close to what I intended to use it for as a "smart" TV, all of a sudden it became "dumb" TV. Had to try the luck of day to see if Netflix is workin...g or not. After doing everything I can after searching through the internet extensively, including resetting the TV, factory reset, all the tricks listed on LG and etc with no luck. LG sent out a technician and they tried a few things that I have already done and opened the TV and replaced the wifi module. Still not fixing the issue. The technician tells me that it will need the whole motherboard change. I declined to do so since it is a brand new TV and I only used it for a week and requested to have the new TV swapped. Had been going between my retailer and LG numerous times for weeks and stuck with this stupid TV. LG rep got me to speak to a case manager and then he got me to speak to a regional case manager who was the absolutely rudest person I have ever dealt with and simply said I either take their offer of TV being repaired or leave it. Absolutely shocked by the attitude of this guy who was babbling about consumer law and no solution for the complaint. It was my retailer who advised me of what to do and they organised a swap of a new TV. New TV arrives, and this time it does exactly the same thing as soon as it was installed. Going through the whole process again and they are not even sending a technician out this time. asking me to do all the things that I have done with the previous TV. In the end, he tells me that I will have to wait firmware update which he doesn't know when it releases and I am stuck with this stupid tv that doesn't do anything smart as it claims. The LG case manager tells me this is something common that he dealt with and I am not the only one with the same issue. That means they are aware of this fault and still selling it. After a week or so of waiting, TV somehow downloaded new update and sorted the issue. I cannot believe the LG didn't have software on USB to install it offline, then I didn't have to go through the whole of this nonsense. Absolutely unhappy and not going to touch LG ever again. To be fair, the picture quality is great and that is it. If you are interested in OLED TV, choose others for their software as they all use LG panel anyway. This whole issue was to do with a software issue and none of them knew what to do.
