LG advertised its TV equipped with local dimming which makes dark more darker. However, it should be called local brightening. When the local dimming is on, whenever there is a bright spot on the screen, there will be a horizontal light 'shinning' from the top to the bottom of the screen. It is impossible to watch dark theme movies with this advanced feature which LG promised to deliver a darker pictures.
LG suggested a solution, just "turn it off". Local dimming is one of the feature I brought in this TV, and I do not expected it was loca...
Read morel brightening instead. So, I turned off the local dimming. A severe backlight bleeding appeared on all 4 corners of the tv. A bright apot of lights constantly emitted at the edges of the TV. It is fine if you are watching bright movies, however, it is a pain to watch dark theme movies. Talk to LG, technicians send in, they tap the tv, bang the tv, flip the tv over and shake it, and of course, they can't fix it. Technicians final comments about the backlight bleeding: - it is part of the technology.Purchased in at Appliances Online for $2,190.

Impressed with colour accuracy and image quality. Local dimming does produce a slight halo in dark scenes, but nothing as bad as what I’ve seen on YouTube. Perhaps the 2021 model has improved this. I’ve just turned it off altogether.
Very responsive operating system and heaps of options to tune the image to your preference. 4K 120hz low latency gaming and decent HDR effect.
Overall a great TV for the money.
Purchased for $2,249.
