LG WD-1227RD

I love My Big LG WD-1227RD – I purchased this machine @2005 and so have had it for about 8 years now (2013) and it's still working great! I rarely ever have the need to use the dryer, and to be honest the dryer confuses me (maybe because I don't use it very often so haven't properly learned how to use it) but I would have bought this machine even if the dryer was not part of it.

I normally do between 2-4 loads of washing per week, occasionally more when I'm doing a big clean of doona's, etc... but never less than 2, and it has never let me down.

More often than not, I will use the quick cycle as I don't think the longer cycle/s are really necessary.

The past year or so it has occasionally been making a groaning sound while it washes, not always but sometimes... I don't know why but it probably needs a part changed or something.

Since LG techs monitor these reviews, perhaps you could tell me why it could be making the noises? The machine still washes fine but it sounds sick when it makes those agonising groaning sounds during the washing cycle and I would really like to get it fixed so that it doesn't keep doing it and also to prevent any further potential damage.

It has been my faithful washer for a long time and I am very attached to it and don't want it to go to washer heaven anytime soon. I want no other one but you, my dear LG WD-1227RD, I love you.

They really built this thing to last! Reliable every time. Nothing was wrong with it until recently with the groaning sound during wash cycle sometimes.

Excellent – I absolutely love my LG! Mine is used for a minimum of 2 loads per day every day.... weekends usually 8-10 loads per day. I have a very big family, and it has been great. After 6 years of punishment the pumps are on their way out but still work for most loads. Only complaint I have is you can't buy this machine as a stand alone washer.... and the dryer is of no use in a rural setting because it uses water to dry the clothes. Such a waste of water, which water is precious to us with no access to town water. When we did live in town though, I did lover the fact that I could put on a load of dirty clothes & go to work & come home to clean dry clothes that just needed to be folded & put away. HUGE door, perfect washing (even the filthiest clothes come out clean), super fast spin cycle makes clothes dy quicker.... almost everything to love about it! It uses water to DRY....

Excellent – This unit has been used everyday with some substanial loads,it has never giving me anything but great clean clothes,including filthy greasy work overalls. I have my own pet grooming business,all my towels come out fresh n clean, absolute minimal wear n tear on fabric if any.The highest spin delivers articles so well spun it saves drying time.unless absolutely needed i only use the speedy cycle with cold water and have never had to rewash anything.This machine has been a god send in my business and infact got 1 for home as well. The large drum capicity makes easy work for large heavy loads in one wash.Highly recommend this unit to all that want a great energy efficient machine with great wash capicity as well.***** from me. The drum capacity,water & energy saving capacities,numerous wash cycles,clean stylish profile,easy to set n forget.Time delay option. No dislikes, if using on floorbaords cushion feet to reduce vibration/noise.

Terrible – good washer for people who like picking kilos of lint out of their clothes for the rest of their lives. I think it was the designers that had the fuzzy logic not the machine It dries clothes Every front loader is known to for minimal lint by rotating towards the pump while draining. This one fails to do that, blanketing all clothes with lint. Even after 20 empty washes, the lint remains, After spending $1600 on this machine, I miss my old $130 pacific
