Personal info being used when visiting their site
I only went on the site to do a comparison, but the website started asking for all these personal registration details without any privacy disclosure on how my info will be used.
Obviously very upset when I am getting unsolicited calls.
Recommend that you don't use this website or at least use a work phone that can be disconnected if you start to get too many unsolicited marketing calls.
Just a site that collects and forwards your personal info
They ask for all your personal details and you can’t access anything without entering them. They then without notification, send all your info to agents for them to contact you.
Disapointing from a vendors point of view
A lead generator for agents masquerading as a comparison site for vendors , very dissapointed. You are forced to divulge a great deal of information before getting anything of real substance in return. Would not use again.
Misleading service for Vendors - not a comprehensive comparison service
Looking through the website, this seems like a great service. However, once I received the search results for agents in my area, I realised that this is in no way a comprehensive comparison of the entire market.
The recommendations you received are only for agents who pay commission to local agent finder (the agent pays this out of their sales commission if you sign up with them). I.e. this is not a comprehensive comparison of all agents in a suburb / area. While this information is buried in the FAQs on their website, it isn't displayed promi...nently which I consider slightly misleading. In my case, the agent list provided had a few names I recognised, but they were from very small agencies. The three or four largest agencies which make the majority of sales in my area were missing. One of these, which only operates in my suburb and a few surrounding ones, was a particularly glaring omission given they consistently get great sales results and are widely known for local knowledge and customer service. When I received a follow up call asking when I might be available to meet some of the agents, I asked why the most well known agencies were not included. I was told that the list only provides recommendations of the best agents in my area (or something to that effect). Not forthcoming on the commission / referral arrangements until I pressed further. Bottom line - do your own research as you may end up being recommended agents with no local presence or knowledge if they are the ones who have agreed to pay local agent finders commissions.
The website does not provide what the tv advertising promises. This site is a data mining sight rather than providing a service. I believe that the positive reviews in this site are written by the company itself.
Collect Info to Send to All Agents
They are a data collection company who send your details to a dozen agents to contact you. Which ever poor agent gets the listing they charge the agent $3000 to $5000 of there commission as a finder fee. Agents hate this company as they are bottom feeders. Most good agent won't work with this crowd anyway.
Really useless and an invasion of your privacy
They ask for a lot of personal details upfront with promised of useful info. Only way to get this is to share personal details again with the agent i.e. they force a request of call back from the agent which is what I was trying to avoid! Useless. DONT BOTHER!!!
TV advertising implies that using LocalAgentFinder will stop a stampede of agents chasing you for their business. In fact the opposite is true... They just collect all your details and pass them on to the agents.
Very misleading product, avoid
The ad shows you being able to scroll through local agents in your area and see their fees and selling history.
However the reality is you give over all your contact details, you can then scroll through agents in your area, but you cant see any of their fees or sales history unless you click a button which sends all those details to the agent. Then the agents just call you. Its a pointless service as you could just call the agents yourself.
Highly misleading. They should be ashamed, and reported to fair trading.
Shortlist of Agents
I was provided with a 'shortlist' of 17 agents. This is not a shortlist. I do not wish to be contact by 17 agents. A list of 5 would have been sufficient.
Absolutely a Scam Avoid...
All they do is collect details and provide false services, I have had dealings with there phone team as a seller Me all they did was stonewall, it looks like it operates as a phone boiler room, avoid and do not waste your time with these time wasters!
MISLEADING ADVERTISING !!
Advert gives the impression you can compare local agent fees online when in reality this is not true, you give your email, phone, address and then get hounded by agents. The only way you can compare is by talking to every agent. If that's what I wanted to do I would have just called on their offices in the first place. This company is not there for the Seller, it's just making money out of agents for referrals.
All They Do Is Collect Your Details
They ask your mobile number name and email address and then says they need to clarify something and they will call you.
No results given about the agents available for the suburb I was after.
This is a scam website, do not fall in!
Go direct to agents in your area is much better!
Go direct to your local agents, wasted my time on this mob, used to be sell my castle, Just another waste of money, you do actually pay because the agents have to pay them a fee, you can negotiate directly with local agents and cut this greedy mob out and save $$$ in the process.
Local agent finder is fraudulent and will probably become illegal, if I get my way.
I needed a Brisbane based Real Estate Agent and so I googled exactly that. The list of web sites started with "Local Agent Finder", which offers to connect property vendors with local real estate agents "100% free" and with "no obligation". This claim might be considered true from a technical perspective. In practice the result of using the site is that the vendor gets a list of recommended agents and Local Agent Finder receives a message telling them that the activity has connected the vendor to those agents. Local Agent Finder then require...s that any recommended Real Estate Agent used by the vendor pay Local Agent Finder 0.375% of the sale price. The agent then passes all of that cost on to the vendor, and so by using the site the vendor has unknowingly added 0.375% of the sale price to the overall cost of selling the property. If the sale price is $1m, that's a cost of $3750. The vendor is unable to use the agent without paying the fee, and must therefore either rule the recommended agents out of consideration of pay the fee. It is therefore wrong, unethical, and probably illegal for the company to claim that their services are free and without obligation. The definition of fraud in law is "intentional deception to secure unfair or unlawful gain". I believe that the behavior described above meets the definition of fraud. Even if only a small percentage of property sales are affected by this scam, then this company is making huge profits for doing, and through deceptive means. I intend to raise these matter with as fraud through the relevant regulatory agencies. I'm confident that once a legal review is conducted the practice will deemed illegal. The website shows user glowing reviews but doesn't allow real people to post reviews, and claims the reviews are verified by "TrustFinder" which is another fraudulent company. What a pity some people aren't able to make an honest living through productive effort.
