I'm so disappointed LPE
Initially I was happy to pay more for a local company to provide my service. Unfortunately I need to move to a more stable operator. I have been overcharged on each of my monthly invoices, (some of which I have paid to avoid late fees) I requested clarification on these invoices and after 5 weeks, and several (ignored) emails seeking clarification on why I was receiving random fees which effectively doubled my bill, I am no closer to finding out what to do. LPE have advised that they are not responsible for the charges and demand that I pay th...e bills as is, effectively circumventing their obligation to provide an accurate invoice. A more amicable and respectful solution could have easily been made had they been willing to provide some/any advice on what the false charges are. I agree with some of the other reviews that their initial customer service is great.......... Until you really need them
Luring in Customers
May I start by saying that kudos for being a local company and employing local people. Im all for that. What I'm not for is companies regardless of them being Australian or not luring customers in based on false advertising. Signed up yesterday based on the electricity rates (usage and supply) advertised on their website. I received my welcome pack this morning and noticed that the rate quoted on their website is not including GST, nowhere it states that these rates do not NOT include GST, so doing some extra calculations it ended up more expen...sive than my current provider and I cancelled the plan right away with no problems. Might I state that they where very nice about it and where sorry about the false advertising. I thought I'd write this review for future customers that might not worry about looking at the welcome pack and actually read it and then get a surprise as to why their bill is more than expected.
Not very helpful
Me and my partner have just moved into an apartment where we could not use our own provider. Fair enough it was in our contract. 1st bill was $53, 2nd bill$27, 3rd bill $79 we do not have internet. Do not cook at home. Don't use air con. Have emailed continuously to ask what their peak and off peak times are. As we are trying to save. Response was it is on top of your bill. Check you latest bill. Go to our website Unable to get a straight answer. Wonder what next bill will be.

Know better, choose better.
Third Party Energy Supplier ~ Specialists in Providing Energy to Private Networks (ie. Body Corporat
This review is critical advice, for those people that are considering taking on a lease agreement, where the Body Corporate dictate an energy supplier, such as Local Planning Energy (LPE). This is fast becoming a popular trend, for closed communities type properties. The Body Corporate dictates your energy suppliers, through the terms of the lease agreement.
At first glance, LPE seems like a great option, offering cheap rates...and are quite easy to talk to.
That's where it stops. You will only get a cheaper rate, if agree to have dire...ct debits. Their supply and metering charges, is where they recover any discounts, you think you are getting. These are charged on a daily basis, not quarter-yearly... like most energy suppliers do. In comparison, my old energy provider, charged me no more than $15 per quarter, for both these charges. LPE's charges, end up being $25 per month. I'll let you do the math. They will blind you with their flat rate...then when you're not looking. Swipe it back in other charges. By then...you are committed, by the terms you've signed in your lease agreement.
Questions & Answers
My Body Corporate is considering signing with LPE for electricity from solar panels they will install on our roof. I'm finding it hard to speak to anyone who has this system installed and before we go ahead I'd like to have feedback on whether people are happy with this system.

Our unit block is about to sign up with LPE - how can we be sure we are getting what the salesmen have promised - om paper it looks good. I am a pensioner living in Fortitude Valley and would like to discuss other people's experience with LPE. Is there some way I can have a face-to-face meeting with you?

The problem is what the salesman is not telling you. They give kickbacks to building managers. This comes from overcharges to tenants.
