I first tried this when bub was a newborn, but having no idea how to use it I'm sure i put it on wrong bub didn't like and I was sworn off. I didn't try it again until 4 months. Bub needed to be wrapped to sleep and could get out of all the other swaddles I had tried. LIFE SAVER is the term I used many times after buying one. Easy to put on (once I had actually seen the packaging) and can travel with it also. No more tiny little hands creeping out of the top. Bub could also still get her hands (inside the swaddle) to her mouth if she wanted to. Worked great for us.
Easy to put on, stretchy, cosy.
I was hesitant to buy this at first however after just a few days I noticed a difference in my baby's sleeping patterns when compared to muslin wraps swaddles. He sleeps comfortably and for longer when using this or the lite Swaddle Up.
He has outgrown 2 sizes and is now using his 3rd and final size.
my baby loves it, sleeps for longer, safe and easy to use
a little expensive.
What I got Mum to buy on her way to meet her new grandson!
My baby boy was born with marks on his face from having his hands pressed against his cheeks whilst in the birth canal... Clearly he was not going to like being tied down! My Mum came to meet him and asked if I needed anything. Yes, I replied! Stop at Mothercare and buy this swaddle I saw that will make him look like a sugar glider!
There is no way our baby would've slept as well had we tried a swaddle that kept his arms down. We got 2 of these swaddles and he was in them for the first 8 weeks. He slept through the night from 5 weeks and we o...
Loved it at first
Great purchase for a newborn but as they get stronger and their arms pull more it pulls against their neck and irritates it. My DD was left with red marks behind her neck where the LTD sits. It's obvious why this happens. The worst is when she cries and pulls even harder.
Great for newborns, don't need to worry about wraps
Rubs behind neck, must be real sore for the bub. Tight around the stomach. Expensive
Bub would not be swaddled with his arms down, would fight until he would get them out, and then would wake himself up being startled by every sound! Then I found this swaddle and he has slept soundly ever since! Some nights he sleeps up to 10 hours (he is only 5 weeks old)! I also bought the lite version as we living in north qld and it's summer, the material is perfect for up here!
I also like the two way zipper for nappy changes and also adding some air flow on a hot day.
I initially bought the small size as bub was 3 weeks old, he only l...
use at the beginning, otherwise NO
I wrapped my baby from birth, she is 11weeks, 6.6kg. I bought the size Large (8.5 to11kg, just fit. It doesn't work for her, she tried very hard to suck her fist in her mouth which makes her super grumpy at night. She normally sleeps 7 hours straight at night, but when I used this last night she woke up 3 time... Because she gets tired of stretching. Plus I don't think it's good for baby's arm. We now go back to the traditional swaddle, she feels better. I suggest use this swaddle up product from birth, otherwise wait till baby can roll over then switch to sleeping bags.
Changing my original review
I reviewed this product a few weeks ago when we were having a lot of trouble getting our baby into the wings off version. I gave it a poor rating because we couldn't get her out of it!
But we've since had success. We just left it a couple more weeks when she was wanting to move more then slowly unzipped the wings. We also introduced a comforter at the same time. She now has both arms out. And I can now recommend this product again.
Can sleep with arms up, snug as a bug, comforting
Can be difficult to get your baby out of it
Terrible. Doesn't stop the arms moving at all. My DD can still get her arms into her mouth meaning the swaddle just gets wet and she gets cold hands. Also, she knocks her dummy out of her mouth with it which makes her cry even more. Worst baby purchase I've made (and that's saying something!).
Colour, snug around tummy area, cosy.
Worked for us!
Every time I went to put my baby boy down in his cot he would startle (startle or Moro reflex in babies can be present til about 14 weeks) and wake up crying! It became so stressful that it was easier to let him sleep on me or in my atms rather than put him down. This unfortunately meant that I could not get any sleep and I was starting to lose my mind with exhaustion! Then one day I found these swaddles at the baby store and I thought I would give them a try. OH MY GOD! the first time I used them I fed my baby, he fell asleep in my arms, I bur...ped him and then put him down in his cot. And nothing. He stayed asleep! I couldn't believe it!! These swaddles are amazing and I will definitely be using them again for baby number 2. They worked! The seat belt hole in the back is great too The material in the lite ones did stretch out.
My baby has always been so hard to get to sleep. My partner and I have been going crazy without our sleep and I headed to Baby Barn Discounts in Tweed Heads and they recommended the Love to Swaddle Up. I've always been a little apprehensive about swaddles as the wrapping looks complicated and they look rather constrictive. Good thing about the Love to Swaddle Ups is that it is a simple zip up swaddle and my bub can have her arms up and close to her face and she sleeps like a dream now. I seriously would recommend this swaddle to all new mums who value their sleep and their baby's wellbeing.
"simple, effective, cheap, good quality"
"a little thin"
BEST $$$$$ SPENT ON BABY GOODS
These are amazing. I recommend them to everyone. Bub was sleeping like a trooper from the fist day was used them. Great for sneaky hands that wriggle out the top of swaddle blankets. This will be my staple baby shower gift from now on. Everyone should try these. Buy neutral colours because you get multipul use out of them!
Everything. 50/50 transition was great also
small size was still a little big for our tiny bubba.
A must have for all new parents!
I purchased our "love to dream swaddle up original" direct from the love to dream online store when our little girl was about 4 weeks old. She loved to sleep swaddled but I was finding it SO difficult to keep her all tucked up as she was getting so big and strong and could wriggle her little arms out and wake herself up. I also found leaving the house a nightmare as I couldn't leave her swaddled and transfer her into the car or pram. After ordering the love to dream swaddle I was SO impatient for it to arrive as I was sure it would solve our pr...oblem - and it did! Amazingly! She loves it and sleeps in it every night (now 8 weeks old) and it's a dream to transfer her in and out of the car especially. Two days after the swaddle arrived I went online and ordered another two so that I wouldn't be stuck without a clean one! My advice to anyone thinking about buying this product is DO IT - and buy AT LEAST two so that you can have one in the wash and one good to go. I have a few other zip up swaddle products and this is the best by leaps and bounds! The only downside i've found at all is that it takes a while to dry (cannot be tumble dried), mainly along the outside seam which is quite thick. Having said that, we live in a cold climate so it hangs inside on a clothes horse to dry - if you lived somewhere that had more sun this probably wouldn't be an issue. Natural arms up sleeping position, easy to use, easy to change nappy/transfer to/from car and pram, cute Long drying time (VERY minor con)
Our baby girl did not start off being a very good sleeper. I was never any good at swaddling and she would be out of my swaddles within minutes, screaming. After over a month of bad days and nights, I decided to do more research and found a lot of people swearing by these swaddles. So I thought, what have I got to lose? Anyways, I went and bought 1 to try it out. After a couple of nights in it, she got used to it and actually started sleeping! Only waking for feeds (most nights) and her naps started lasting and hour or 2 rather than 20 mins. It...gave me my sanity back! Needless to say, I now have 4 of these, plus I have also bought the one that has the removable arms (she doesn't like this one as much as I think the arm bits are a bit stiffer) - but she didn't seem ready to have her arms out yet. My only worry now is how to wean her out of it, after a couple of unsuccessful attempts at leaving her arms out. Another problem now is that she won't sleep without it. So, if we are out somewhere and I've forgotten to take it with me... I cant get her to sleep unless she is attached to me in her carrier. Or if she falls asleep in the car, I cant just transfer her into her bed like that as she freaks out once her arms start flinging about. So if I know she is going to fall asleep in the car I have to put her in the swaddle first. Not so great, during the hot summer months. Finally go bub to sleep long stretches Don't know how to wean her off, she doesn't like the removable arm one. Won't sleep without it.
Great purchase. We wrapped our baby in muslin wraps for the first few weeks though she always managed to get herself out and one time the wrap had gone over her face which was worrying. Before we even knew about the Love to Dream swaddle - during the day when it was warm we just covered bubs with a sheet and she seemed to sleep with her arms up next to her head. The Love to Dream swaddle covers everything and you dont need to worry about bubs getting out of it or it covering their face. The swaddle is apart of the bedtime routine also and as so...on as she is placed into it and zipped up she knows its time for sleep. Will definitely be using again if we have another baby. Easy to clean; Easy to use; Fantastic! Discolours where hands go into mouth; expensive
My baby can't sleep without being swaddled but won't sleep if wrapped too tight. The love to dream swaddles are perfect! She loves them! She can be swaddled but still be able to move her arms. You can also click baby into the car whilst wearing it as it has holes for the clicker. I love this product and so does my baby!
Great design, good price, easy to use, can put baby in the car whilst wearing it.
Questions & Answers
We are based in Melbourne with the weather being freezing and having the thermostat set to a constant 19 degrees. What tog rating would I use and what clothes underneath?
They are thin. Probably around 2 tog thinking of my other bags. In Sydney we also have the house around 18 in winter, I put them in long sleeve arms onesie, a thick Bonds onesie and socks.
I have the swaddle up in size small for my 6 week old baby, he weighs 4kg. I have noticed that the material under the zipper is bunching up and almost pushes towards his chin. I'm worried this could be a potential hazard. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it because the swaddle is too big/small?
I noticed with my little guy when he was first born I got him the small and the back of the neck used to dig into his skin and leave red marks, he would pull his arms forward and do it worse.. it wasn’t to small either.
