Safe and Cozy for baby!
I was very reluctant to use a swaddle on my baby, but he realised how to get out of a normal wrap pretty early, so I had little choice. Love to dream was recommended by a relative & friend, so I thought why not as I didn't know any other brands. I was a little worried when I goes tried the swaddle, however baby loved it and slept very peacefully which was better than when wrapped. We now use it every night and he does not wake up or move around a lot during sleep. It is a bit pricey, but I definitely recommend this brand!
Purchased in February 2020 at Love To Dream for $40.00.

Regular swaddling was better for sleep
A friend gifted me one Love to Dream Swaddle Up original organic swaddle and I bought another Lite Love 2 Dream as I had a summer newborn (1.0 and 0.2 TOG respectively.) They were so highly reviewed and another friend had highly recommended them. But my personal experience of them was that they are just okay and given the price tag, regular organic swaddles were a much better investment. It really does depend on your baby.
Pros
Quality construction, organic options: GOTS certified organic cotton for the Swaddle Up and bamboo (viscose) for the Lite.
Faster and easier to use than traditional swaddle
Twin zipper for easier nappy changes
...
Purchased in November 2018 for $45.00.
Whats the point?
My baby can move around way too much in this, swaddles are meant to make babies feel snug and secure, but she wriggles so much in the love to dream and startles which wakes her up, so i have to say I just dont get the point- only advantage is my baby cant wriggle out of it and therefore i know she wont get cold.

Good but expensive and hard to resell
These swaddles are expensive considering they’re only used for a couple of months at most. You can use wraps instead although these swaddles are more convenient.
Problems come when it’s time to resell. Despite it being in really good condition, no one was interested in buying it second hand and the company aggressively defended the photos of their product. Don’t expect to get any money back after you’ve used it for a few months.

this is great for Houdini babies!!
love these swaddles...so quick and easy to use..perfect for babies who always come out of their swaddles. The sleeves do get a bit manly due to baby always chewing on it though. There's a double zip so you can change their nappy without taking the whole thing off. I would recommend this as an alternative to normal wraps and blankets.
Great Product
Used this product for my baby .. Now my baby sleeps good and comfortably and if I know earlier about this I will buy this... and I recommend parents to use this product and get know how useful it is and... Good Cheers Kudos to who invent this ... !!
Not for a strong baby
I have a Houdini baby and at 2 months I was constantly having to try and secure his arms which were waking him up. I had a medium one if these from my previous baby who loved it. He is a big boy so I tried it. He loved his arms up but he has too much room, he could stretch the wrap easily and we were up every hour resettling. So not for a strong, large baby with big startle reflex.

Comparing it to ErgoCocoon Swaddle and Grobag Swaddle
I have used ErgoCocoon Swaddle and Sleep Bag (1.0 tog), Love to dream Original swaddle (older design without the new hip design) and the Grobag Cosy swaddle. Hence the below comparison which I will post on the Grobag and ErgoCocoon review as well.
Grobag swaddle is good as it allows smaller size babies to a decent 5.5kgs before I need to swap to the normal grobag sleep bag. ErgoCocoon allows up to 7kgs. Love to dream has a range of weights but it means you have to keep buying for the right weight range.
Both Grobag swaddle and ErgoCocoon...
Read more swaddle allows transition from arms in to arms out without a hefty price tag (Love to dream isn't that cheap!) The neck area (ergoCocoon as well) is also generous enough for my 3kg baby. Love to dream neck (Small size) seems a little snug on my 3kg baby. Don't think Love to dream will be comfortable for a bigger size baby (small size supposedly can accommodate up to 6kg!) Grobag swaddle (and ergoCocoon) does not allow the hand to be "UP" like the Love to dream swaddle. There are pros and cons. Some babies love to bite or lick on the "wings" of the love to dream swaddle which comforts them but I hate it as it means washing the swaddle everyday and having spare swaddle! Grobag swaddle does not do that However... Grobag swaddle do "bunch/ride up" to the baby chin when baby moves a lot and the baby can still lick on the "bunch/ride up" portion. Read some reviews that users find the bunched/ride up portion may suffocate baby?!? My baby is only 2 weeks old so I can't comment on it since my baby wouldn't be that strong to "bunch/ride" up that much of the swaddle.LaurenjaingAU

Expensive, but worth it for a Houdini
My Bub is a Houdini. No matter how tightly or with what kind if wrap we swaddled him in, he ALWAYS got out! The Love to
Dream is perfect for this. He's sufficiently snug, wrapped up safely and can still use his hands to self soothe. He's not constantly wriggling and squirming to unwrap himself.
This is not a cheap swaddle though and the fabric around the top (the wings) wears and stains far too easily. Do yourself a favour and find one in decent condition second hand (if you can nab one!) on eBay. They're worth giving a go if your Bub doesn't have a strong startle reflex.
As soon as the zip closes, our Bub settles some of his fussing and seems much more content.

Not good for strong reflex babies
My 15wk old has had the summer lite since about 7 wks. I have never been able to resettle him when he is in it! He does love to have his arms up and I guess he likes it when he goes to sleep initially, but he flaps his arms around like a maniac and because it's not constrictive he wakes himself up constantly. I wouldn't buy this product if you have a strong baby/restless sleeper/strong startle reflex. Another con is that the cotton is already starting to get holes after maybe 10-15 gentle cycle washes with sensitive fabric wash, but I believe t...
Read morehat's due to the him fabric for the summer weight. Edited to add - my son is now 8 months and we used the transitional swaddle which was amazing - loved it. Was easy to transition him out of the swaddle and into a sleeping bag when he was around 4.5 months.XtinaWellington, New Zealand
Good but not snug enough
I was so excited when I bought this as I have tried amby swaddling system for my 10week old baby but they all ended up unravelling at night which is not safe or too many layers which could overheat my baby. But this is the first night I put this on my little girl and she is sleeping through the night! It has enough elasticity for her to move around and self soothe (which can be great for transition) but also quite snug to control the startle reflex. I am using the stage 2 product as I am planning to transition her already before she learns to roll over. I am not sure if the stage 1 is going ti be snug enough for newborns but i find this quite useful and serves its purpose efficiently.

What I got Mum to buy on her way to meet her new grandson!
My baby boy was born with marks on his face from having his hands pressed against his cheeks whilst in the birth canal... Clearly he was not going to like being tied down! My Mum came to meet him and asked if I needed anything. Yes, I replied! Stop at Mothercare and buy this swaddle I saw that will make him look like a sugar glider!
There is no way our baby would've slept as well had we tried a swaddle that kept his arms down. We got 2 of these swaddles and he was in them for the first 8 weeks. He slept through the night from 5 weeks and we o...

Loved it at first
Great purchase for a newborn but as they get stronger and their arms pull more it pulls against their neck and irritates it. My DD was left with red marks behind her neck where the LTD sits. It's obvious why this happens. The worst is when she cries and pulls even harder.
Great for newborns, don't need to worry about wraps
Rubs behind neck, must be real sore for the bub. Tight around the stomach. Expensive

use at the beginning, otherwise NO
I wrapped my baby from birth, she is 11weeks, 6.6kg. I bought the size Large (8.5 to11kg, just fit. It doesn't work for her, she tried very hard to suck her fist in her mouth which makes her super grumpy at night. She normally sleeps 7 hours straight at night, but when I used this last night she woke up 3 time... Because she gets tired of stretching. Plus I don't think it's good for baby's arm. We now go back to the traditional swaddle, she feels better. I suggest use this swaddle up product from birth, otherwise wait till baby can roll over then switch to sleeping bags.

Fantastic!
Our baby girl did not start off being a very good sleeper. I was never any good at swaddling and she would be out of my swaddles within minutes, screaming. After over a month of bad days and nights, I decided to do more research and found a lot of people swearing by these swaddles. So I thought, what have I got to lose? Anyways, I went and bought 1 to try it out. After a couple of nights in it, she got used to it and actually started sleeping! Only waking for feeds (most nights) and her naps started lasting and hour or 2 rather than 20 mins. It...
Read more gave me my sanity back! Needless to say, I now have 4 of these, plus I have also bought the one that has the removable arms (she doesn't like this one as much as I think the arm bits are a bit stiffer) - but she didn't seem ready to have her arms out yet. My only worry now is how to wean her out of it, after a couple of unsuccessful attempts at leaving her arms out. Another problem now is that she won't sleep without it. So, if we are out somewhere and I've forgotten to take it with me... I cant get her to sleep unless she is attached to me in her carrier. Or if she falls asleep in the car, I cant just transfer her into her bed like that as she freaks out once her arms start flinging about. So if I know she is going to fall asleep in the car I have to put her in the swaddle first. Not so great, during the hot summer months. Finally go bub to sleep long stretches Don't know how to wean her off, she doesn't like the removable arm one. Won't sleep without it.2 comments
We've used this swaddle since our son was around 3 weeks old and it has served us well until now that we want to wean him to a sleeping bag. Since around 8 weeks old he has developed ways of using the...
Read more swaddle up to self-soothe including sucking on his hands/the cotton. We hear him stir in the night and then soothe himself back to sleep. He has been sleeping for 6-8 hours straight from 10 weeks (he is 13 weeks now and is exclusively breastfed). While his sleeping is obviously going really well, we're concerned that he has developed a dependency on the swaddle up and tested this by trying him in a grobaby sleeping bag. He hated it. We then bought the swaddle 50/50 but like the reviewer above, he doesn't like it. He starts sucking on the cotton/his hands and then realises it's not the same and cries. Going to keep working at it but thought I would post that we are having the same difficulty with weaning as the reviewer above. As I said, overall this swaddle has definitely helped our son to sleep well (although, having said that, he has basically always slept in it so we can't compare it with anything else) but I think with our next baby we will go with something like the ergopouch and that way there is no need to transition to having arms free. I've known other parents to do this and to have success.Find out how Love to Dream Love To Swaddle UP Original compares to other Baby Wraps

Great for Houdinis!!!
We found this great for night sleeping, arms up are a favorite of our little one,it helps with her startle reflex although I use a blanket or light wrap ( depending on the weather) to cover her otherwise she startles or wiggles so much her legs shoot up in the air!
Easy to use,

Better than nothing
First tried this swaddle when my son was about 8 weeks old, he hated it and would scream and scream every time I tried to get him to sleep in it. I started swaddling him with a standard cot sheet which worked really well until he became a pro roller at 5 months and woukd break out each time. I have gone back to using the love to dream swaddle, but I find it is harder to settle him in, possibly because his hands are too free near his face. It is still better than not swaddling him at all, because he will never settle unswaddled, but I am current...
Read morely looking into the woombie or ergo cocoon as alternatives, which also have the option of having arms out when it comes time to wean off swaddling. Baby cannot bust out of this swaddle like he can with a standard wrap Hands up next to head is ineffectivesangriamariaQueensland, 4000

Fantastic! Baby sleeps much longer in these!
I'll admit my baby is a terrible sleeper, so I'm not going to say these made her sleep through the night, but she sleeps MUCH better while in these wraps. They are cooler than swaddling with muslin, and still let her wiggle a little, while containing her startle reflex. For those who have babies who fight being swaddled, these are a great alternative, and even if baby doesn't like them at first, keep trying and they'll come to associate them with bedtime, and enjoy the security they provide.
I have found these are starting to fade a little a...
Read moreround the trim, so not sure how they will hold up until my baby outgrows them. I found the organic ones even softer than the original, so if you have the extra $ to buy the organic ones, I'd recommend them. Thesleepstore.com.au has great specials on these and they have excellent resale value. Baby slept much longer in these! Slight fading but only a minor issue.S_babyAU

Get some extra sleep!
We love this swaddle. Our bub likes to put his arms up when he sleeps. We initially bought a swaddle that kept his arms down and he would cry and cry.
Swaddle kept bub from waking himself up with his arms. Its great that the swaddle still allows bub to suck his hands. I like that you can use this swaddle in the car seat as it has a slit for the seat belt. Clever.
Expensive. Retails at about $40.

We are based in Melbourne with the weather being freezing and having the thermostat set to a constant 19 degrees. What tog rating would I use and what clothes underneath?

They are thin. Probably around 2 tog thinking of my other bags. In Sydney we also have the house around 18 in winter, I put them in long sleeve arms onesie, a thick Bonds onesie and socks.

I have the swaddle up in size small for my 6 week old baby, he weighs 4kg. I have noticed that the material under the zipper is bunching up and almost pushes towards his chin. I'm worried this could be a potential hazard. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it because the swaddle is too big/small?
Chantelleasked
I noticed with my little guy when he was first born I got him the small and the back of the neck used to dig into his skin and leave red marks, he would pull his arms forward and do it worse.. it wasn’t to small either.

Ok... An update to the weaning them off situation. Thought I would share in case someone else also was having problems weaning them.
Read morel ended up with heaps of crying and protesting. One that seems to be keeping her happy and she has now slept well in for a couple of nights was a max and Tilly one. You can get the, from this website: brightbots.com.au. It's long sleeve and has pretty much the same sort of material as the swaddles and it also has the bits that go over their hands... So I think it feels the same to her but is an easier transition than going sleeveless. I happened to have one that we hadn't used from when my son was little... As well as grobags and all sorts of other brands... But this was the one she was happiest with. I've since ordered more from the website I mentioned as well as some brightbots ones as they also looked similar. Good luck :)So I tried all sorts of sleeping bags with her...and pretty much al...
