Powerex 2700mAh NiMH Rechargeable AA

Great product ! – I have bought a set of 64 Powerex AA 2700 mAh NiMH batteries about 12 years ago (yes, 12 years), together with MH-C801D charger. The batteries have been used in Canon Speedlites, radio triggers etc. Never had a failure. The only beef with MH-C801D charger was the LCD without back-light (this was the early model). Recently I bought a new charger,… Read more
MH-C980 Charger Analyser, as I wanted to know how much of the original capacity is left in the batteries (and yes, it has a back-lit LCD). After conditioning all batteries - the lowest capacity was 2290 mAh. The average of all 64 batteries was 2390 mAh. This means that the batteries lost on the average11.5% of the capacity after 12 years of use. I consider this an excellent result. The batteries have been manufactured in Japan, I have no idea where they are being made these days. Money well spent, as far as I am concerned. And - not a single failure so far.
Worst batteries I have ever had – I purchased 16 Powerex batteries, charged them up using the C801D charger and turned up for a shoot the next day. Only just into the shoot and my flashes started to fail, did not know what was wrong as I had new batteries, anyway a disaster. A number of the batteries went flat overnight. Checked the batteries when I got home and found a number of… Read more
them would not hold charge. The supplier acknowledged that there was a problem and replaced them in a couple of weeks when he had a new batch. Changed to Eneloop and no more problems, only use the Powerex as backups.
Great batteries – I use these powerex batteries in my garmin Etrex 20 GPS & found that they just last & last 2 batteries I need to run it I"ve gone out 5- 6 times around 8 hours each time 4 weekends apart before I get a low battery signal & still get another 1 hour before they give in. I just wanted tell others that I really trust these in the outdoors.
Superior – I use these for my Microsoft wireless mouse 5000, and they are excellent! I was previously using "Pure Energy" alkaline rechargeables and they were only lasting 2-3 days, however since spending the extra $10 on these Powerex I have had them in for 15-20 days now and they still haven't died, the mouse only drains at a low rate but still... far superior to standard alkaline! Long lasing, good quality
Brilliant flash batteries with high capacity – These are one of the best, high capacity AA batteries available on the market today. Ideal for heavy battery users (e.g. photographers) and flash photography. I charge mine using a Maha charger and regularly use PowerRex and Imedion batteries as my preference. The only fault is that these are not low discharge batteries, meaning unlike sanyo… Read more
eneloop or imedion batteries, they do lose their charge with time. So not ideal for torches or remotes where batteries may be used for several months on end. However, if you turn over batteries on a weekly to monthly basis, these can't be beat Reliable, 2700mAh capacity Expensive and not slow discharge
Good – I have the POWEREX Imedion 2100 mAh ready to use rechargeable batteries. If you don't use batteries on a regular basis this new type of rechargeable battery is the way to go. $19 for 4 AA batteries is over the top but this type of battery will be the norm. Rechargeable batteries that go flat in a week just sitting around doing nothing have their drawbacks if your a ..I want it now.. person. Stay charged for at least 6 months expensive
