Switched my energy service to a more expensive option
I have used MIC over the last few years without issue, however; I recently received a phone call from a salesperson who ran through the rates and said that I would save money if I switched over my service to a different provider.
Long story short, this is not the case and now I have to go about switching back to my older service.
I felt that I was misled on the phone call and the salesperson was pushing for the change of provider. In hind sight, I should have been firm on a bill comparison of my current rates versus the newly offered rates as it would have saved me a lot of trouble. Lesson learnt.
I utilised this service a couple of times over the past few years without any major issues until recently where I found out they have changed my Electrical supplier to another company without any notification or approval. Worst still the new company is nearly 3 times dearer than the previous. I am left to sort out the mess and now change to another company. Be warned IMO keep away.
Illegal transfer of business electricity account
MIC signed us to Blue NRG without our permission and any documentation.
One of MIC rep called my business partner to offer to switch electricity and gas. She was asked to call me. MIC rep called me and said they can automatically transfer electricity but gas account has a different process. I asked for the details of the gas tariffs etc but at no point consented to transfer the electricity account.
A few days later, my previous electricity provider sent us the final bill. Not expecting a final bill I rang my business partner whether he switch...ed provider without my knowledge. He didn't, so I had to call Alinta to check who disconnected it. I was told our new provider was Blue NRG. That was the first time I heard about Blue NRG. Blue NRG were very professional and excellent customer service when I rang to enquire based on my NMI number. They were surprised as well how the account came to them. Obviously, some over enthusiatic rep at MIC who is perhaps paid based on sign up decided to take short cut and switched us to Blue NRG. In fact, she about to leave MIC when I first spoke to her, because she mentioned it when I asked for her contact details.
Too Late with a return phone call
Was told a call would be returned within the hour but nothing so went with another provider. When they did eventually call back was told they were closed last week! Why wasn't I told this at my initial enquiry? Operator ended up putting the call down on me when I told him he was too late. Overall experience a bit disappointing.
harassing call centre staff
A staff member from your call centre continued to call my company for 3 days after being politely told we are not interested, she managed to find out a managers name and demanded to speak to the manager every time, she was very politely explained to that we are not interested (we have on going contracts) and we get many marketing calls a day so the receptionist is very used to this however,
she than became very rude and pushy. The receptionist discontinued the call and she straight away calls back another two times.
Although she was very rude I do not blame her as an individual this companies customer service methods are very pushy and must set hard goals on young call centre staff.
Super pushy sales, didn't get a good deal
Bad sales tactics.
The salesman was really really pushy over the phone and called us relentlessly. Pushed us into a deal we didn't really want and when the welcome pack came, the rates were not any better then what we were already paying.

Horrible experience with no result
You have to explain everything you need to 1 person. then they transfer you, and you go through it all again. Then its more time on the phone while they go through a maze of voice recordings. Then they spam you with emails you didn't ask for. Then i get the email, "unfortunately your business structure doesn't suit our requirements". I would have thought that if there was a problem it would have been noticed days earlier when the process started.

She was not able to provide any basic info (like cost per watt)

I uploaded both my electricity and gas bill online on 11/10/2017 , and received a call from a nice customer service guy later in the day wanting to know if I could discuss options he found. I told him that it wasn't convenient and we organised a suitable to for him to call me back. We agreed on today 12/10 at 9.30am, still waiting for him to call me! IF anyone calls I doubt i'll be answering them, nor want to do business with them. From the reviews, this company isnt getting good reviews, ISelect I go...............
Avoid at all costs
Spoke to a few people initially who cold called me about my energy pricing. Finally spoke to this guy [Name Removed] who was like a used car salesman. Constantly called me mate in an attempt to build rapport - which didnt really work and starting making me angry. Tried to confuse me with some spiel about distributors who made my power?? Um, OK.
Told me that based on the information i provided, I would be saving over $800 per year so of course I signed up. He went through the terms and conditions at lightning speed but I was assured I would rec...

I looked in to this company after reading reviews saying how smooth and easy the transition was between energy companies with Make it Cheaper doing all the leg work. This has absolutely NOT been the case for me at all. I agreed to let Make it Cheaper change my electricity and gas. After many phone calls to the new gas company it turned out that they didn't even supply gas to my area. Blunder number 1. After calling Make it Cheaper and getting them to make sure I was still connected to my original provider I thought it was over. Several months l...ater I received my first electricity bill. I was quite excited to see what the discount would be. There was no discount. Blunder number 2. Phone calls later and it turned out the man who organised it all for me (who no longer worked there) months before did not actually complete the required forms and I was getting no discount at all. After complaining that I was in fact paying for their mistake they said there was nothing they could do about it and the discount would be applied for the next period. Infuriating. I was then passed on a lovely lady who could hear how frustrated I was at how poorly the situation had been handled. She assured me the discount would be applied for my next bill cycle. She also said she would compensate me with a voucher card (I think it was for Coles). This leads to Blunder number 3. That last phone call was perhaps two or three months ago and guess what? Still waiting for my voucher card. Obviously it's not coming and from all my previous experience with this company I can't even be bothered phoning them to ask about it and have cut my losses. I honestly don't know how this organisation is still in business. My advice to anyone would be to shop around yourself for alternate energy suppliers. This is what I will be doing the minute my contract with Make it Cheaper is over.
Worst of the worst
At first it was okay, 3-4 phone calls a week pressuring me into a new contract saying mine is going to expire. [name removed] was such a rude, disrespectful and lying misrepresentation of what sales should be. Calling me darl, babe & love. Then proceed to read me my contact to fast. I asked him to slow down and was ignored have called and canceled through my previous retailer. Don't use make it cheaper they don't care about you or your business just the money.
Switching was a big mistake
I was pressured and harassed by their call center workers untill I agreed to swap electricity providers. Only to find I had been sold a plan that was the same price as before for the daily charge and MORE expensive per KW and now I'm locked in. This company are a bunch of crooks!

I'm too busy to wait for you to call me to get an idea of the prices. I have allocated my weekend to getting an understanding of the best deals available (best of a woeful bunch given the fact that all electricity retailers are sharks skimming their profits out of the consumers purse). Your site didn't bother to ask me about my current usage or plan, so how the heck does it know how much I will "save"? what a waste of time.
Pushy and won't take no for an answer
The customer service officer [name removed] was quite pushy trying to convince me that we had to go ahead with a quote and frequently said "at the end of the day it is your decision" but wouldn't take no for an answer. After saying no three times she said called me crazy and hung up. Terrible customer service.

I have used make it cheaper before never had a problem but I got a call about 2 weeks ago was going through all the information then I was asked for my drivers licence number, medicare or passport number I said no and ended the call I have never been asked for these before & Im not giving them out now
