Worst customer service at any airport I have ever travelled to in my life
Mh128 on 7feb2020. Mel to kul.
Checkin in Melbourne Airport was atrocious.Worst customer service at any airport I have ever travelled to in my life. The check in staff named ESRA at Melbourne Airport was a shocker. Spoke to the supervisor and she didn’t seem too bothered anyway. Spoke to a few other customers of Esra and they said never Malaysian again.
Very rude customer service
Horrible customer service , They are the ripper , lair and rude staff , I booked my business class ticket with Malaysia air and I am traveling with my infant , I want to canceled my tickets because of this recent virus and they say yu can’t get your full money back , all the airlines are giving refund , I don’t know what their problem , always travel from Malaysia but not any more , happy to pay extra but never going to travel from Malaysia , so please beware

Absolute rubbish. Very bad service. All staff push you around to each other. We got pushed around 3 days. VERY VERY VERY bad service. A bunch of liars and idiots.
Horrible customer service- They can lie at your face!
We booked wheelchairs for elderly parents. They didn't provide since from check-in, either in transit and KUL or at SYD airport. The staff were rude and ask to await unrealistically. I can see the elderly parent's frustration while I receive them.
We filed complaints about not providing the agreed service. They took a couple of weeks to investigate and we were shocked that Customer Service Executive claimed to have service provided.
Well, it wasn't only the airport ground staff, the Customer Service Executive can lie at your face. Never trust the service they are selling, this is the last booking I even made with them. We had to cancel the ticket to re-book another airline, without refund and compensation.

This is my first ever Airline Review because I felt compelled to write.
Returned last night from our holiday from KL to SYD in Economy Extra Leg Room ROW 9.
We live in a suburb that flights to Asia fly to the rear of our backyard and the same Aircraft left late that evening. I kept an eye on its departure because I was curious how old the Aircraft was and after checking on its flight later, it was a 6 year old aircraft which is very young in flying time.
Well I don't know about the other rows, but I can tell you about Row 9,

I traveled from Sydney to Malaysia and back. On both flight I experienced and witnessed staff being dismissive and rude to their guests. The guy sitting next to me asked for a water once on an 8.5 hr flight, it was like he’d asked the flight attendants for McDonald’s. Also I orders the Hindu meal. I’m not Hindu but order this meal as I don’t like beef. The meal is a disgraceful . Six Tony cubes of chicken and a small roti & fruit. The snack was a 3 bean mix and pea sandwich. What a joke.
Bad Customer Service , Ignorant, Old Plane, Bad food and Late 30 mins!
Perth to London return with my family. First time fly with MAS. The plane is old, Customer service is bad, terrible food , Late for 30 mins and on top of it they put us on the ordinary when we booked and paid for extra leg room. The flight manager confirm she will find out what went wrong but she never come back to see us. She's gone and left us . No apology. Never fly with them again.

Never Fly Malaysia Airlines
Two first class tickets from Manila to Brisbane. At stopover in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Airlines transit lounge ground staff gave us boarding passes to disembark in Melbourne. They gave us no advance notice. They offered no apology and refused to explain why we had to go to Melbourne instead of Brisbane. They lost both suitcases which took them an extra 3 days to find. The usual 9.5 hour trip took 29 hours! Will never fly with them again.
Excessive delays, terrible food and seat scam
I have flown with Malaysia Airlines previously, and so had high expectations when flying from Adelaide to Bangkok. The check in experience in ADL was fine, but the problems started before the plane landed in KL. We almost landed, but but as approaching the runway, the plane violently banked upwards. We ended up circling before landing, and then spent a good 30 minutes slowly heading to the gate once landed. We thought we had missed our connecting flight, but as it turns out, it was delayed by over 3 hours. The transit gate changed several tim...es, with no announcements. When checking in for our return flights 48 hours before, we discovered that there were no free sets available, so had to pay an extra $50 to sit together ( travelling with a young teenager so didnt have a choice). This is obviously a scam to gouge more $. Check in at BKK was a nightmare, no obvious queues, with no one to assist. Spent over an hour in checkout! The food was terrible. As we are vego. We preordered meals which were basically inedible and bland, with no salt or pepper provided. I noticed that the regular meals were given a vegetarian option, which looked far more appealing than what we were given. And not to mention, both flights home delayed. Never again! I should have gone with a cheaper airline, and probably would have had a better customer experience.
Malaysia Airlines...............Humph! ................Fly with someone else!!
In March 2019 we decided to fly Auckland to Kuala Lumpur (K.L.), my wife had a conference to attend in K.L.; Malaysia Airlines were a sponsoring airline - we took advantage of the very attractive return fares they were offering. We paid for our return flight with our N.Z. credit card.........all good to this point with the correct debts showing on our card account for the return flight..
About 2 or 3 days before we were due to leave to attend the conference in mid-July we were contacted and asked if we'd like to be upgraded to Business Class f...or the outway leg of our trip. To do this we had to bid on line, we did, and we were successful in being upgraded, we paid the amount we bid. The flight was fine but being in Business Class with Malaysia Airlines is really nothing "flash"! In fact the compelling reason we upgraded, was because it was a 12 hour flight overnight, but then we admit we did not pay the full Business Class fare;........... So I guess you pay for what you get! Whilst in K.L we were contacted again to see if we'd like to upgrade on the return flight, again we bid and it was indicated we had been successful. Again the flight back to Auckland was overnight leaving K.L. at around 11-30 pm we decided as the conference finished shortly after lunch we'd do some shopping and make our way to the K.L airport which is approx 70 klms from the city. We arrived at the airport around 5-30 p.m.
non existent customer service , very disappointed
First time booking this airline taking 5 of us
Spent 13k on airfairs (mel to kl to Koh) only to recieve notice that they changed flight schedule and due to there policy of min 90 min stopover I cannot return to next day
This has costed me over 1k and despite seeing if we could discuss arrangements on 12/11 I received a case number saying 7 to 14 business days to respond
Despite 5 further enquires on my behalf no reply
Show you care a kind gesture and courtesy is always acknowledged
Great customer service
My father who has dementia got off in KL for stop over on way from Thailand to Melbourne. He forgot to get back on and didnt show for the next flight. 4 days later (yes 4 days he was lost in KL airport and no one could find him) he turned up at a counter for help. Malaysia Air contacted us in Australia. They booked him onto the next flight to Melbourne without any extra charge. Then they had someone stay with him for 4 hours until they could put him on the flight so he couldnt get lost again. That person took him to a room with a bed and shower...so he could sleep and freshen up. They called again once he was on the flight. OMG, my sister and I were stunned at how amazing their customer service was to help an elderly man and with no cost to us either. Amazing!
my daughter and i recently used the airline to fly brisbane - KL- Phuket and then back again
when the email came through to checkin for our return flights we did so , the KL -Brisbane leg we were not seated together , so I requested to change our seats ( my daughter is a minor ). The airline then hit me for a fee for us to sit together , considering all our flights were booked and paid for together this was most annoying. Then to top it off our baggage remained in KL when we were home in Brisbane - I realise that these things happen but 2 days...
Malaysian airlines - horrible customer service for the elderly
My mother was unable to walk hence booked a wheel chair. But apparently staff told her in kulalumpur that there are only 2 wheel chairs for old ppl and she has to walk on her own...pathetic how and why should we pay for such bad customer service to our parents. Flight MH140...you are a bad airlines and if this is how you treat your passengers..goodbye forever
ticket canceled without any notification
I took a round trip ticket on 09/11/19 from Australia to India for attending my uncle's funeral
As it was a family emergency - agent was compelling us to take ticket immediately
We notified him that I am traveling with my mother and 5-month-old daughter - My daughter didn't have an OCI card and we lodged e-visa to India. It usually takes 24- 48 hrs for granting an electronic visa
But the agent was adamant that we will get my daughter's visa overnight
So we booked a ticket
Travel date was 10/11/19 and return was 17/11/19
But my daughter's visa ...
Rude and arrogant staff member in Sydney airport
One of the staff member was very rude and arrogant while check in process in Sydney airport. She had knowingly flipped her name tag so that no one can see her name. Not willing to help and very rude to us. My parents were boarding flight MH 140 (22:15) from Sydney to Kualampur on 8th of November. She was in counter number 9 . Very disappointing service from Malaysia airlines. Never flying again with this airlines.
MH128 flight on Nov 6 cancelled
On Nov 7 MH128 flight having the machinical issue, which is understand able some time it happens. Flight information to 180 passengers was not accurate. I was having lounge access but lounge got closed and we were at the gate waited for until the morning for 5 hours, passengers at 4pm were offered Water bottle. Passanger were asked for the arrangement in other airline and Flights. Customer service was not good, customer yet to see any compensation.
November 16th 2019 Update: Malaysian airline code share flight grabing extra $$$ without any sup...port. Mgt don't want to answer any questions. I booked a return flight on Nov 13, KUL-BWN-KUL. I am a Gold card member on world which allows to have lounge access. In 2019 alone I have taken atleast 30 Flights. On Nov13 Flight and Ticket was issued as MH5222 which is operated by BI874, on boarding card issued with BI 874 only, when I asked for from Royal Brunei, they told you need to talk to Malaysian airline, Malaysian airline staff have no Idea what I am talking about, explaining and they are only referencing talk to Royal Brunei, I requested Manger to talk, He was another unknowledge person, Have recorded what we discussed, attaching for reference his behavior after became unpatience like ping ping for an hour between different desks and people. It was nightmare to let them understand that I have purchased Malaysian airline ticket and when on all the Airport display you are showing MH5222 code share flight and not printing on Boarding pass, not allowing lounge and milage access, than what is the point I am paying extra price of ticket. Ticket is issued with MH5222 but in the Terms and Condition no where it is mentioned about No milage claim and No lounge access. Just grabing extra $$$, staff is unknowledgeable. Customer service is poor, malaysian airline still have a long way to go.
Avoid. Still stuck at Melbourne airport, abandoned by airline. Disgrace.
Hours upon hours of delays. Connections abandoned and zero help from the airline. Don't know what I'll do now. Have asked for help and told to go away. This is third world attitude and I'm in Melbourne Australia. Disgusting.
Were charged for seats we didnt need to book and are now being charged for seats we were told we wouldnt need to book. Just useless. Id rather swim than travel with these guys again.
Worst airlines with the worst cabin crew and customer service staff
Malayia airlines is the worst airlines in the business and they provide the worst customer service. My parents and my in-laws recently travelled from Bangalore to Melbourne and both had the worst flight.
My in-laws travelled in July and we had booked wheel chair assistance. My father in law is a diabetic patient and has to use the restroom quite often. He requested the wheel chair assistance person if he can use the restroom, he was declined and was advised to wait until he boards the flight which was 30 minutes later.
My parents travelled...from Bangalore to Melbourne again yesterday(23 Oct 2019). On the flight from KL to Melbourne they were seated at seat 22A and 22C and they were given 1meal, when I had specifically contacted the call centre on 22 Oct and confirmed that they will be given 2 hindu veg meal. When my father questioned the cabin crew they had the audacity to say that we have only booked for 1 meal. How is the even possible only a dumb person would book 1 meal for 2 people when they pay more than $2000 AUD for the tickets. They do not have to book for meal it is by default they should be getting. Also when I was trying to do the online check in for my parents, on the flight from KL to Melbourne they were given seats one beside the other, my mother was given 22c and my father 23C when I try to change the seat it said 22A is a seat which will incur extra cost. I wanted to check the price and changed it, however I did not confirm the seat. As soon as I changed my father's seat from 23C to 22A, 23C became a cost incurring seat. This is nothing but a dodgy way of making extra money. My mother travelled from Mebourne to Bangalore in Sep 2016 and on the flight from Melbourne to KL, she was not given a meal and the reason they did not have any vegeterian meal. I did send an email to the complaints department and it took them more than 1 year to reply back with an apology.
