$1800 out of pocket and on our way thank you scam air
Flight cancelled two hours before checkin and they gave us an alternative for another day, no compensation, impossible to speak to an competent call centre operator. We had to rebook for same day qantas which cost 900 to Bali one way, never again stay clear.. not enough bookings don’t expect to fly!!!

Bad and horriable experience.
We fly in june from amritsar to melbourne.I am very much excited about my lives first air journey but malindo spoiled it .Two unexpected long delays are there.At denpasar me and my mom suffered a lot.I can't explain that experience in few words.from Bali , flight haven't provide us vegi meal bocz of 16 hrs delay we haven't any food at balli.Handle of one of the briefcase was found broken.I have complaint it on two or three sites but couldn't find any reply.Now i want to change my ticket date and again no one is taking it seriously and taking responsibility .I am very much irritated from the services.
Do not use this airline
My flight was delayed by 14.5 hours and Malindo chose not to inform it's customers until they arrived at the airport even though Malindo knew about the delay the night before. I had to cancel and rebook with a different airline which was expensive and stressful. I will never use Malindo again.
Baggage Damage Warning - Beware!
In March this year I flew from Delhi to Denpasar Bali with a short stopover in KL. On arrival I found my new hard suitcase weighing only 3.2 kg had been cracked in two places and one wheel surround was also damaged. After lodging a Property Irregularity Report PIR
and sending multiple emails to Malindo I finally received a replacement case and was asked by the courier to sign the receipt. He then opened the case and I discovered that it was pink not red as requested and was extremely heavy weighing in at 5 kg - not suitable for international...
The worst airline ever
They canceled my ticket and feed me lies. It cost me double price of the ticket I bought with milando air and since then they don’t even take any responsibility

Flew from Adelaide to Bali with a family of 9 so cheaper option tickets were purchased so wasnt expecting any special treatment.
To our surprise there was more leg room than other airline, also entertainment which kept kids happy and then a meal option offered. Friendly ground staff and air hostesses , Wouldnt hesitate to fly with them again

Where do I start, In flight entertainment was not functional, there was only 2 meal options; spicy and spicer, the cabin was dirty with a foul odour throughout, although this could have been coming from the other passengers (refer to the title of my review). We were promised a baby bassinet several times prior to the flight including at check-in however were blind sighted at the Gate to allow for a row of 6 men to set together.
I've been flying through my entire life for work and pleasure and this has to be the worst airline I've come across, I'd save your money and fly budget or spend a few bucks more and fly a full fare airline, which Malindo masquerades around as.
We flew with Malindo from Perth (1.20am) to Kuala Lumpa and then onto Phuket. Both our flights were on time, Check in was nice & easy, all staff nice & friendly and the food was not too bad. The free entertainment was also good. Seats were comfy and had a little bit of extra leg room. All in all we enjoyed our flights with Malindo & have booked with then again for August.
Worst airline keep away
We booked with an online travel agent who made a mistake and didn’t book our return flight. Therefore our holiday was cancel our flight. We organize baggage with malino for the flight over the phone. We contacted Malindo and they said terms and conditions state they won’t refund. We were never told about terms and conditions when we booked.

Booked to fly from Brisbane to Bali return with my partner in March 2019..
I have flown with Malindo Air previously and it was OK...So recently I booked two tickets from Brisbane to Bali return for March 2019 which I paid for with my Visa card...About two weeks prior to the trip my partner had a family emergency and had to cancel..I was unable to cancel her ticket so my daughter decided to come to Bali with me, rather than waste a ticket..Contacted Malindo Air customer service 10 day prior to the depature date and was advised that they do not transfer tickers from one person to another regardless of the reason...I am disappointed because this policy seems very unfair...My booking reference XLPRKG..I cant upload my ticket details as this program doesnt allow me to access my screenshots or emails..

I am really disappointed to inform you that I had an awful experience with Malindo air and it has happened second time.
I was traveling back from Chennai to Perth. My flight was at 7:50 am in the morning on 6th January. Initially it was at 8:50 am and this changed was informed to me. But when I arrived in the airport on 6th morning I was informed that the flight is just cancelled. I already checked out from my hotel and did not have any cash and local sim card. At that situation I was offered a flight two days later and after much arguing I wa...s offered a flight 15 hours later without any meal voucher and hotel arrangement. The airport staff was taking me out of the airport. That would have been much more distress. But from 5:30 am to 11 pm in Chennai airport without internet and any other facilities was not a nice experience. Most importantly Monday is the first day of work after Christmas break and I had important meetings. The ticket was planned and booked in such timing so that these are not missed. It was a horrible 40ish hours for me all around. After returning i fell sick and missed further two days of work. And Malindo has not compensated for my miserable experience and miss of three days of works neither even apologized!
Appalling value for money
I recently travelled on Malindo Air which I know is a budget airline. But to have to pay for ear phones to listen to the movie is appalling. I paid close to $ 1000 to travel one way back to Perth from India. The food was enough to only feed a child. They only offer apple and mango / orange juices water and tea and coffee . The juices are very sweet which will cause you to develop diabetes. The food is average. Service on board is not bad. Charging for blankets too is pathetic. The planes are small and have only two toilets on board. Checked in ...allowance is only 25 Kgs whereas all other airlines offer 30 kgs. If you can get a better deal on another airline avoid this cheap airline that provides absolutely no value for money for the price they charge. Even Air Asia is better than this airline and what it offers. Malindo is highly avoidable.
Value for money
Have flown from Brisbane to Bali four times and have never had a problem. Food is typical airline food, staff friendly and very helpful. Only once did we have no flight entertainment but it didn't worry us as it was a return night flight so we just slept. Will be using them again in July.
Flight from hell
Bali to Brisbane. Food was unappetising. Staff were not helpful 1x water offered on a 7hr flight.
Not friendly. No TV no wifi but yet wanted top $ for their flights. Would NEVER flight with them again.
Please don’t travel this Airline
We have booked through Travel Agent which was very comfortable and easy less priced as well, we booked the travel from Melbourne to KUL then KUL to Trichirapalli (Trichy ).
But starting from checkin went towards down hill
At last minute changed the gate number without information so we have to rebook the ticket

Not great at all
We flew from Melbourne to Bali on Christmas Eve - the flight was fine itself but the aircraft was super old, we had been advertised in flight entertainment prior to our flight so we didn't bring any materials, and the plane didn't even have TV's in the back of the seats because it was so old!
When baggage came, we waited where we were told to wait for almost an hour, and finally got told by someone that the baggage area has changed and to move to a different one. We then waited with a lot of other unhappy people for another 45 mins and when ...our luggage FINALLY came, it got stuck with a bunch of other bags before it made it to the conveyor belt. We waited for ages while the alarms went off and no one came, more bags were loaded and the bags didn't budge at all. We eventually had to jump up and pry the bag out ourselves so about 10 other people could get their bags. Then on the way BACK from Bali to Melbourne on the 3rd of Jan, our family of 4 purchased the headphones as we didn't know they weren't complimentary. Once purchased, we found out that for the entire flight the in flight entertainment wasn't working. So for the entire flightm no one came to us to let us know, it was just quietly broadcast over the speakers. No refunds, no offers, just a boring flight. I was also quite unwell during the flight and it was the first time I had ever used a vomit bag on a plane (not their fault I was sick of course but I am a frequent flyer so it was probably the dreaded Bali Belly!) I was on a window seat and struggled to move, the air hostess told me (after I waited with it on my tray for a long time) it needed to be 'flushed down the toilet' and she can't take it right now. So I was trying to get out of my seat but couldn't, and she eventually came back and grabbed it. I am unsure of the protocol, it was all sealed up etc and I don't know what I am meant to do but I didn't think it needed to be flushed, I honestly thought you are assisted if you are unsure what you're meant to do! All in all, this wasn't a great experience. It wasn't the most budget flight I could find either which is disappointing, I am yet to hear back from the company so if they reply and offer a refund or compensation I will update my review to reflect so.

Multiple fails, proper budget airline
Certainly not a glowing review from us in relation to this flight. So many things made my first Malindo experience a poor one, which I don't intend to repeat. Here goes:
1. Trying to check the status of our flight the night before, Malindo's website system said the flight didn't exist. I double checked and triple checked the details I was entering, making sure I did so as the webpage instructed. Fail.
2. Even after checking in online, the "bag drop" process at the airport was ridiculously inefficient, the queue took so long to get throug...h and the time taken was as if we hadn't already checked in. I noted to the check-in lady the time, she noted that Malindo's check-in system is antiquated and takes far longer to use than every other airline's system. Fail. 3. No entertainment system on a flight over 6 hours. Old aircraft that just doesn't have it fitted. The airline obviously knows that particular aircraft doesn't have entertainment fitted, so an automated courtesy email to passengers would be considered good customer service, so that your customers don't turn up unprepared without a book or magazines or own device with pre-loaded media. Fail. 4. Throughout the flights, the toilets were disgusting. Toilet paper ran out. One of the toilets' soap dispenser was broken - the hostesses response was to wait for the other toilet to wash my hands. Really?! It's obviously been broken for ages, and the airline can't even put a temporary soap dispenser in that toilet? Fail.
Stealing your luggage— horrible airways ever
Never trust them your luggage. Very unprofessional ground staff. Apparently they employe any idiot to work for them.
Horrible crews and all together ridiculous service.
Never never recommend it
My impression is that a bunch of idiots got together and hired a couple airplanes to run an airways. That is it

I was in the flight OD183 Wednesday 5th of December 2018 on my way back from Nepal to New Caledonia where I live.
The flight from Kathmandu reached Kuala Lumpur with 1h45 delay.
To catch my connecting to Sydney leaving at 23:20 local time I had no choice than running. I was supposed to get my bag and recheck it as I was changing airline. But I had clearly no time and decided to get next flight instead, which I managed by chance.

Worst Airline Ever!! Avoid at all costs!!!!
My family had a cancelled flight (Melbourne - Denpasar) - 4 adults & 2 kids. We sat in the airport for over 5 hours as Malindo continued to delay the flight before finally cancelling it altogether.
At the time of the cancellation a Malindo Air employee came over to us & took both mine & my wife’s phone numbers & informed us that she would call us to confirm our tickets for tomorrow’s flight. She told us not to wait at the sales desk to get tickets for tomorrow’s flight, as we had a young family who had already been at the airport for almost...6 hours now - she promised me we were first on list to get tickets for tomorrow’s flight. We were PROMISED we had nothing to worry about, we would get a call soon to confirm our seats on tomorrow’s flight. We collected our bags (which Malindo Air also managed to break a wheel on my bag, without actually going anywhere) we caught a taxi home with my kids in tears, waited at home for 4 hours for Malindo Air to call to rebook us on tomorrow flight as PROMISED. Nobody called, we were forced to call Malindo Air in Malaysia (as the Australian phone number we called had a answer machine message saying they were closed on Sundays) to speak to a variety on people with poor English speaking skills & no idea that there was a cancelled flight in Melbourne & therefore not much intent to help us. After numerous calls & being on hold for 15-25 mins at a time, we were informed that all flights for tomorrow were fully booked. I’m pretty upset & angry by now... We were forced to call back & try our best to get on the next available flight. After further poor communication & being on hold for extended periods, we had been rebooked on flights for Tuesday. We waited & waited for the tickets to be emailed, finally I receive them & realise they have split up our group of 6 & put us on different flights, on different days! On top of that they had separated the small children from the parents. We were put on seperate flights!!!

Malindo Air is permanently cancelling flight from Sydney to Bali from 31 May 2020 and Adelaide to Bali later in the year. Has anyone been notified or received a refund - not Covid-19 related as this is a permanent change to their flight routes. I booked 6 return flights for Christmas 2020 on 27 Feb 2020 which I think is probably illegal of Malindo Air to sell flights after a date of a permanent cancellation is known. Will be taking this up with ACCC.
I booked a return flight in April 2020 and Malindo cancelled the flight from KL to Colombo before the travel ban and they are refusing to refund. They are only offering a travel voucher. I will speak to my travei insurance to see if I could get them to pay me out on this.
I booked a flight from Sydney to Bali for Sep 2020 and was notified in Mar 2020 that the flights would be cancelled and refund issued within 30 days. Still have yet to see the refund after 49 days. Just been told two more weeks every time I call. Now they just hang up on me.

So far they haven’t admitted it publicly.
I only just booked my 6 return flights on 27 February - can believed they took my booking when they planned to cancel route. I might try calling as well.
