Thank you for your wonderful service Masters
Why should the staff of Masters treat you like you are special when you are only going there now, when it's too late. wanting to get something TOO cheap. You never gave them a chance, you had the other big store in your head and that was it. I shopped at Masters and I found them wonderful and very helpful every time I shopped there, and to me they were a big improvement on the other store where I always had trouble finding someone to help me out when necessary, but at Masters there was always someone handy, I never had to trail around looking f...Read more
or someone to help me, and they always bent over backwards to help me, pointed me to a better and cheaper deal. It's your loss and now it's mine because of you. I am not a friend or relative of anyone who works there , just a shopper and I do feel sad that it has come to this. What's happened to the Aussies who always gave people a go. Masters had one store and the other big store had many, GREEDY wanting all the market, just watch if the prices go up, why not, they have no competition to keep them honest. Your own fault. I personally will never shop at the other store ever again, and what's more, I have come across many rude staff members there, people who don't know the products or if they even sell them. They sell one brand of gazebo but not the same brand of walls, not much use to me. Goodbye Masters, I will miss you.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!
Went to buy new mower!
Went to buy new Honda mower this arvo, no staff to serve? Asked for assistance said they will come back- never did ! 15 minutes later asked another guy - will be back..... Mmmmm never came back? 10% off wow big deal anyway. Left and went to mower shop offered more than 15%
Will go and purchase tomorrow. If your hearts not in it get out..... As for discount = pathetic.

Woolworths MASTERS sale
Was expecting a closing sale and found only 10% off some items which were mainly unneeded rubbish. 10% does not even make up for the inability to return products when they are gone. Products in this store are of lesser known brands and often to pricey for their branding.
Like everyone else I got back in the car empty handed.
Please just close up, cannot even get a closing sale right.

horrible staff and store policy
i bought a lawn mower 8 months ago and i did a exchange after 2 month of using it cause its not working properly. not long ago, its not working again. so i took it back to masters and wants to get a refund. however i couldn't find the original receipt anymore, i can find the exchange receipt which shows i have purchased the lawn mower before. the worker and the manager told me they don't do exchange, only repair. i said, i got exchange before. they said whoever did it, shouldnt done it. the guy said the store policy has changed, i said when did...Read more
it change? he said i don't know. i asked him to help me to find the receipt with the card number and from bank statement. he was not helpful at all. including the manager, they all spoke to me very rude and don't care at all. i tried to call them after i went home, they were not answering the phone all day. when i went in the store, it was not busy at all to not answer the phone. the whole experience was horrible. no one in that store was trying to help at all, they just want me to go away when i spoke to they nicely. i understand masters is going to shut down soon, but this is not how a big brand should treat customers. this kind of customer experience is probably the main reason why Masters is shutting down. the company really should hire some helpful and friendly staff like Bunnings.Similar opinion? Will Not Provide Refunds
Returned item to Masters St Marys as it did not work as advertised explained the situation in details to staff member and manager. They claim they are in liquidation and only offer exchange not refunds. Turns out this information is incorrect and contradicts the prominent signs displayed in numetous locations throughout the store in black and yellow "all sales final -refunds only in accordance with Australian Consumer Law" the product is incorrectly described and in the reverse side even says "Testing is Advisable "

Smiles in the Gloom
Reading a lot of these reviews I think I've been lucky. Renovating at the moment and I've bought thousands of dollars worth of stuff from the Bibra Lake store in the past few months both in store and online. Never had a drama and staff have always been fantastic.
Even in the gloom of the staff loosing their jobs I've still had great service. The manager Rachel especially.
Not happy with the false start fire sale but that's big corporations for you. Woolworths are shooting themselves in the foot. Upsetting customers is just dumb business. No one likes a liar.

Poor service, lack of staff assistance
5/9/16 around 12.30 pm Masters Chullora Store, looked around for a staff. There were two close by asked them to help, one said he'll get someone. I waited more than five minutes, no one came. Looked around to ask someone else, went near the exit door asked to speak to someone about a safe, she yelled out to the counter to announce someone to customer. Waited again more than five minutes. Then went to took section three staff talking to each other, told them I have been waiting more than 10 minutes to get some assistance with the safes. He said he was sorry on his break and started to serve someone. I just walked off, could not be bothered to ask or buy anything from there.

staff abusing customer
NERANG STORE monday today at 4.00 pm staff member in the wood yard told a customer he was a cretin , a leach , a low life, for coming to the masters sale to get 10%off. he then went on to descibed all customers as cretins crawling out of the woodwork coming to get the 10% off. other staff members were there and agreed with the abusive staff member. all worked in the wood yard .overweight bloke about mid fifties no hair, other staff member taller with dark hair was the main offender. Both staff members told the customer to get out of the store go to bunnings.
the public understands how disgruntled the staff must feel but dont take it out on customers, if its that bad resign.
its a slow painful death Masters ,, just close the doors.

Deceitfull advertising
At this moment they advertise all their merchandise at 10 to 30% off.
I went in and found it all just 10% off. The sales staff had to cop the abuse.
On the first day of their "sale" it was even busier than Bunnings. Not many people appeared to buy anything
but lots of angry people returning to their cars empty handed.

Q: When is a sale not a sale?
A: When the operator is Woolworths.
I thought I would check out the Adelaide A/P store yesterday, the first clue this was going to be a disappointing visit was that the car park was less than 1/4 full. Not much was discounted by more than 10%, an amount not worth making a special trip just for this "sale" for. A few items 20-30% but mostly on smaller priced slower moving type stock, almost so they can say something carried this discount. Staff seemed pretty disengaged (understandably) and could not help but overhear some of their negative comments about the job.
This is a poor excuse for a closing down sale.

Not happy
Went to buy shed was advertised on display 20 percent off. Inside store only 10 percent. Had to argue with manager to get 20 p/c then told she was doing me a favour and had a bad attitude. I am currently building a new house and have chosen to get all materials from Masters to help keep people in employment. I even chose Valspar paint over Dulux and it was not as good as Dulux. I feel like a bloody fool. Should have stuck with the Bunnies.

It's a wonder why Masters lasted this long
After hearing the news that Masters will be closing in December, I ask myself why this didn't happen before now. Yes, I've been a customer of theirs, off and on, over the past couple of years, but only on a necessity basis. They have a limited variety of hardware items available, and what they do have I've often found to be a little more expensive when compared to competitors like Bunnings and Mitre 10. Why haven't I followed up on their price-beat offering? To be frank, I couldn't be bothered. It's hard enough trying to get someone to serve yo...Read more
u let alone go to the hassle of comparing prices. I did try once though ... when my wife was after a new Dyson vacuum cleaner. Harvey Norman had a model $120 cheaper than the same one in stock at Masters. After a half hour of jumping through hoops and getting pricing checked online, etc. I gave up and bought the cleaner at HN just down the road. Master's pricing policy has often made me laugh though. You'll find an item that comes in (say) multiple sizes and/or colours, and the smaller one will often be dearer than the larger one, or one colour will be dearer than the other. I did make mention of this, online, to the store manager at their Rouse Hill store earlier this year when I was shopping for an automatic pool cleaner. My complaint was acknowledged (receipt wise), but they failed to follow through. In summary, Masters have only got themselves to blame; poor service, poor product range, crazy pricing policy. Goodbye Masters, don't forget to turn the lights out when you've finished.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Fake Masters sale!
I found a drawer safe (code number 5901) that was listed as on sale and heavily reduced at several Melbourne stores. It was priced at $29.70, down from around $139, what a bargain! Early on the first day of the sale I tried several stores that had them listed at that price, surprise surprise, no stock! I asked one of the stores if they could tell me which stores had stock and they found two stores with around 20 in stock. After travelling 50K to one of the stores I was told that they were only reduced by 10% and priced at $129. What do you thin...Read more
k? To me this is a con, the low price is only where no stock exists and where there is stock, the sale price is not worth the trip. Woolworths, this is going to come back to bite you! Nobody really believed that the Masters sale was going to be genuine after the same thing was done at the Dick Smith stores. Doing it again will end up with people boycotting your other stores. In worked at Woolworths many years ago and had some loyalty to the company but not any more. I supported Safeway and Woolworths in preference to Coles but from now on, my first stop for groceries will be Coles. Apologies for giving Masters a one star rating, The web site would not accept zero stars!Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!

Fantastic
Twelve months ago I wanted to buy some large Finlay & Smith lidded laundry baskets I saw online but there were none online or it seemed, any store. Store manager found one in Mt Gambier and bought it up for me to buy. After several trips to the store since this time, (one was a large flooring purchase,) I always check for these baskets, but no luck. Today I went to followup on an item, and they had a shop full of the Finaly and Smith baskets I had been chasing. So I bought another three. Stock in storage/laundry area was the best that I have ...Read more
ever seen. For a business that is shutting down I found this a bit odd. Staff at the store were as usual, exceptionally helpful. I have always had exceptional customer service from the Adelaide Airport Team. Best wishes to them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!
So called sale as advertised
Travelled from Geelong to Werribee store as we had seen advertised on the TV that there was. 60 % sale due to the closing of the stores, after finally finding the store no such sale, when we asked the staff they blamed the press and told us we were one of many people each day asking the same question, is this false advertising. Looks like you have lost put again. Felt sorry for the staff as some people are abusing them.

Service is poor, none off the staff care
I bought laminated flooring, went to the Rutherford store to pick the order up and no one came to serve me, I waited 30mins and then drove out.
Went back the next day to cancel my order but the shop assistant said they will deliver the flooring for free the delivery date being Monday 22/08/2016 and that is today and it is 4:10pm now and they still haven't arrived. I will be making a point of getting what ever I need at Bunnings first, at bunnies service comes first.

Terrible Customer care, Masters Cranbourne
I had been double charged on a purchase of $123 by the lazy, impolite, poorly trained females at the masters Cranbourne, and on my visit to the same store for a refund, I was kept waiting for more than 15 minutes and treated in an inferior way beyond belief.
The language, attitude and the promise [of calling me back] were never Australian standard. Inferior to the core! Finally on the next day I called the masters general number and spent another 20 minutes to get a store manager on the phone, only to be denied the double charge, what was cle...Read more

Three Strikes for Masters
Today I had 3 bad encounters in Masters. I'm still recovering from the stress!
Skirting boards and moldings are reduced 50% at Masters. Signs are very clear in timber section. At the check out the ones I wanted wouldn't scan, I waited and waited for help from timber. He arrives to the check out at a snails pace after I had already gone back and written down a bar code and the price. This bar code did not scan either. Bunnings would have just charged me the price on the shelf. Not Masters! The timber man stated someone else in the shop coul...Read more
d fix the problem. He was surly. I told them I did not want them now as I was fed up with waiting. I went and got other things I needed. I then decided to get different skirting boards. I go to the check out loaded up. When I am told how much I owe, I query whether I got a 50% reduction on the boards. The checkout girl quoted the price I was charged. I was tired by now, as I am not exactly young and couldn't remember the price on the shelf, so waited till I got to my car to check the receipt. I was charged full price for the boards! I take the boards back to the refund desk. I tell the alleged supervisor that I want a refund and why. She calls timber to verify they were reduced by 50%. I'm wondering if she is a supervisor why is she not aware that they have been on sale for weeks. I tell her I do not want them now as I am fed up with their service. I get the refund. Somehow I left a store bag with a sample pot of paint and screws behind. Goods were paid for. It wasn't till I unpacked my car that I noticed. I call Masters. I am expected to tell the shop assistant, who I suspect is the alleged supervisor, exactly what was in the bag. I can tell she has the bag right in front of her. I say blue paint and screws. I get asked what kind of screws. She asks if I have a receipt. Due to my stress levels from dealing with Masters I couldn't find it. She tells me because I used a credit card they could scan my card to determine whether these items were actually purchased by me. I'm wondering how many people today purchased blue sample paint and screws and left them behind. I find the receipt and go to the store which is not around the corner! I expect to show the receipt, get my purchase and leave. Not to be. Attached to my purchases is a lengthy typed note from the women I spoke to on the phone, detailing what the clerk on duty needs to do before I can have my purchases back! I have left things behind in shops before and never, ever had any issue picking them up! I will say up till today I thought Masters was great. It is amazing how a few staff can ruin a customers experience to the point they will never return. No wonder Masters has not done well. It seems like reading other reviews that poor customer service is not isolated.Similar opinion? Write a review on ProductReview.com.au!
